Role Overview
As a Charity Liaison Officer volunteer, you'll be at the heart of our mission to bridge the gap between donors and those in need. This purpose-driven role focuses on establishing and nurturing partnerships with charitable organisations across the UK, enabling more vulnerable individuals to receive direct support through our platform.
This is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference while gaining valuable experience in the charity tech sector. You'll represent Unify Giving to potential charity partners, help onboard new beneficiaries, and ensure our existing partners are up-to-date with platform developments that can enhance their work.
Key Responsibilities
- Relationship Building: Develop and maintain strong relationships with charity partners who can verify and support potential beneficiaries.
- Partnership Outreach: Identify and approach suitable charitable organisations working with homeless individuals and other vulnerable populations.
- Onboarding Support: Guide charity partners through the process of bringing verified beneficiaries onto the Unify Giving platform.
- Training & Education: Provide training to charity staff on how to use the Unify Giving platform effectively.
- Impact Communication: Gather and share success stories (while maintaining privacy) to demonstrate the effectiveness of our direct giving model.
- Platform Ambassador: Keep charity partners informed about new features and improvements to the Unify Giving platform.
- Feedback Collection: Gather insights from charity partners to help us continuously improve our service.
What We're Looking For
- Passion for addressing homelessness and supporting vulnerable individuals
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to explain technology in accessible, non-technical terms
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
- Experience in the charity sector, social work, or community engagement (desirable but not essential)
- Understanding of homelessness issues and challenges in the UK (desirable)
- Reliable access to transportation for partner visits when needed
- Comfortable using digital platforms and mobile applications
Time Commitment
We're looking for volunteers who can commit to approximately 5-10 hours per week, with flexibility around your schedule. This can include:
- Virtual meetings with potential and existing charity partners
- Occasional in-person visits to charities in your region (dependent on distance/ travel expenses covered)
- Regular check-ins with the Unify Giving team

Quilombo UK is looking for a Bid Writer - Commercial Proposal Volunteer to join their team. Quilombo UK is a not for profit social enterprise that challenges people to think differently and bridge gaps between communities, with the aim of building a culturally rich society, where differences are accepted and celebrated. Ideal candidates will assist Quilombo UK in preparing funding bids that contribute to their further development. COPA is a small national registered charity run by older people for older people in Wales. We are the “national voice” for local older people’s groups and want to make sure that older people are listened to, and their demands are acted on. We feed the views and opinions of fora and groups directly into both government and national public organisations. There is strength in numbers and a demand for well organised and informed lobbying that can have a greater influence and reach than is feasible by any individual or local group
The number and proportion of older people in Wales has been increasing for decades and their needs have become more complex and diverse. Changes in society and politics mean that the challenges facing many older people, particularly those on low incomes or in poor health are struggling to be sufficiently recognised. In COPA we have prioritised a range of issues to address including tackling age discrimination, creating Age Friendly Communities, building intergenerational solidarity, tackling isolation and loneliness, and cost of living and digital inclusion, as well as health, social care, housing and transport. We campaign from a position of independence and the self-determined voice of older people.
In order to address this important agenda and strengthen our charity we are looking to recruit a number of new trustees in 2025. COPA would like to invite any individuals who may be interested in becoming a Trustee to contact us. This is an opportunity to directly influence and contribute to the work of a charity that is making a difference to the lives of older people across Wales. The Role
Our community library is looking for a proactive Trustee who will lead on fundraising in tandem with our volunteer fundraising team to identify event opportunities and move them to successful completion. Trustees play a vital role in ensuring Wythenshawe Foodbank meets its core purpose by overseeing the management and administration of the charity and ensuring that the foodbank has a clear strategy in line with our vision and goals.
What will you be doing?
Wythenshawe Foodbank are part of the Trussell network. We employ two members of staff and have approximately 30 regular volunteers, in addition to volunteers from local organisations who support us at specific events such as food drives.
We are seeking two new trustees with an interest in helping others, who are willing to uphold the food bank’s values, and who can bring life experience to the board of trustees. Trustees have collective responsibility for the governance of the organisation and for all decisions made by the board. They set the strategic direction for the charity, ensuring alignment to its values, and are responsible for setting organisational policy, defining goals, agreeing the financial plan, evaluating performance, and ensuring that strong relationships are maintained between the trustees, staff, volunteers, and users of the charity’s services.

- ensure the charity is accountable, actively complying with statutory accounting and reporting requirements and the law.
- help promote the organisation to a broader audience of potential funders and beneficiaries.
- represent, and present on behalf of, the food bank at meetings and conferences as and when required
- ensure the food bank has appropriate procedures to: comply with current legislation and good practice; including employment, health and safety, equal opportunities, safeguarding & GDPR compliance/data protection etc.
- regularly communicate to the rest of the trustee board via trustee meetings or any other communication, any relevant information and/or developments regarding fund raising or grant applications.
- prepare for and regularly attend and participate in trustee meetings.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for people who want to help their local community and work towards the eradication of food poverty whilst supporting the food bank to continue to provide emergency food to people who find themselves in crisis. Our ideal candidates would demonstrate:
- knowledge of and commitment to the work of Wythenshawe Foodbank
- a commitment to equality, social justice and the need to eradicate food poverty
- willingness to actively participate in discussions concerning the needs of the foodbank’s beneficiaries and staff, and act in the best interest of the charity
- sound, independent judgement and the ability to think creatively
- the ability to work effectively as a team member and demonstrate a willingness to learn and develop
The food bank would particularly welcome applications from those with experience in one (or more) of the following areas:
- Funding & Grants, for example: experience of fundraising and writing grant bids; experience of promotion/influencing organisations and businesses regarding donations and fundraising
- Social Media, for example: creating digital and social media strategy and plans to increase engagement, internally in the charity and externally to the public; communications and engagement experience using multiple platforms
