Job description

RESULTS seek to make change through a mix of grassroots, parliamentary and policy advocacy, creating the public and political will to end poverty.

RESULTS UK believes the building blocks of the end of poverty are health, education, and economic opportunities – things that all people, wherever they live, need and have a right to. Within these three areas, we prioritise specific issues on which we can have most influence to achieve progress.

The heart of the policy team’s role is to provide a high-level of policy evidence and messaging that underpin all of RESULTS work. The policy team also goes beyond the production of this evidence. It delivers policy as highly-focussed advocacy messaging to the stakeholders who require the most detailed and nuanced levels of technical briefing. These audiences include civil servants, key development agencies and civil society organisations, but also the parliamentarians and members of our grassroots network who are the strongest champions for our work.

The position of Policy Advocacy Coordinator will provide crucial support to the Policy Advocacy Team. The post will be ideally suited for an individual with some work experience at the beginning of a career in international development, particularly in policy, research or public affairs.

We are looking for someone who will be proactive, efficient and flexible in supporting our policy advocacy work. Having a can-do attitude that includes the more administrative aspects of the role is essential. This post will provide good opportunities for developing project management and advocacy skills; an understanding of key international development issues; research and writing for advocacy; and experience of working with UK policymakers, parliamentarians and civil society.

As a member of the Policy Team, the post-holder will be working closely with members of the Parliamentary and Grassroots Teams in order to deliver on RESULTS overarching objectives: being generous with the sharing of knowledge, advocacy expertise, and contacts while working in a collaborative environment is essential.
