As Philanthropy Officer, you will be an organised and proactive fundraiser, adept at multi-tasking and working across a variety of projects to successfully support senior leaders. You will be keen to learn from senior fundraisers and implement exciting new approaches for the Sutton Trust, and bring strong organisational and interpersonal skills.
The philanthropy income team is a team of two, working closely with the Director of Development to secure and steward individual donors. As Philanthropy Officer, you will support both the Head of Philanthropy and Director of Development in their work with individual donors, including undertaking prospect research, writing briefings and compelling reports, coordinating meetings and donor visits, and maintaining accurate donor records.

Main duties
New Business
- Undertake prospect research across the spectrum of philanthropic income in collaboration with the Head of Philanthropy - including identification, due diligence, qualification, and creating briefings and outreach plans
- Work with the Head of Philanthropy to identify and cultivate a prospect pool of potential donors, looking at lapsed supporters, current low-level donors, stakeholder network mapping through the Board and Trustees, as well as philanthropists with an active interest in education/social mobility
- Work with the Head of Philanthropy and other colleagues to implement, promote, and maintain a low-level online giving campaign, including transition of our online giving capabilities to the Trust's website, and automated stewardship activation

Person Specification
Skills and experience:
- Experience building and managing relationships with individuals, ideally in a philanthropy team or other fundraising capacity, or in sales or other relevant professional capacity.
- Experience researching and prioritising information to drive decisions. Evidence of researching qualifying individuals, ideally to create a clear and prioritised propsect pipeline, is not essential but will help you to stand out.
- Experience working with or supporting colleagues across an organisation to make successful asks or secure a specific outcome. Evidence of making financial asks, ideally to secure major donors and cultivate new donors, is not essential, but will help you to stand out.

Terms of Appointment
- Contract: Full-time, permanent
- Salary: £31,775-£35,000 per annum
- Office location: The Sutton Trust, 9th Floor, Millbank Tower, 21-24 Millbank, London, SW1P 4QP. Our home working policy gives staff the option to work from home for up to 60% of the time, with approval from their line manager.
- Hours: The standard working hours are 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. This role is likely to also be required to attend events / meetings outside of normal working hours during weekday evenings and occasionally at weekends, in line with organisational policies.

Tender is an arts charity working with children and young people to prevent domestic abuse and sexual violence through creative projects. Our programmes are safe, enjoyable, age-appropriate spaces where young people can engage with sensitive topics and “rehearse” for real-life scenarios. The Philharmonia Orchestra is seeking an organised, analytical and proactive Development Research and Operations Manager (DROM) to support the growth in fundraising activity of a busy and ambitious orchestra. The post-holder will deliver high-quality philanthropic research, pipeline and CRM management, the creation of donor briefings for individual, corporate and trust supporters, and horizon scanning for new and future opportunities.
As the department’s research and CRM lead, the DROM will generate prospect research on those suggested by senior volunteers (Board, Development Board etc.) and those identified in our database, Tessitura. They will support fundraisers across giving streams to create engagement and cultivation plans, and act as the pipeline management champion for the team. The DROM will support fundraisers to ensure activity and contacts is logged consistently, working closely with the Head of Development to monitor KPIs, track and record income and maintain accurate donor and donation records.
This position is central to ensuring that frontline fundraisers can focus on income generation, supported by robust operational processes, accurate data, and high-quality research.

Key Responsibilities
Research and Pipeline Development:

Office Administration
· Act as first point of contact for general operational enquiries

Work Location/Hybrid Working Pattern
This role will be based at our Head Office in central London. Mothers’ Union operates a hybrid working model. Staff are required to work an aggregate minimum of 90 days per calendar year (pro rata for part timers) at our Head Office, Mary Sumner House in central London. Tuesdays are our anchor days where every staff member is expected to be at the office. The 90 days includes anchor Tuesdays. In addition, Thursday is a core working day where part time staff are expected to work, either at home or from the office as needed.

Role Overview
The role of the Cathedral Safeguarding Officer is to maintain and build on the strong culture of safeguarding at Southwark Cathedral and carry out an effective safeguarding role as a key visible member of the Cathedral team. The role holder will promote awareness and understanding throughout the Cathedral community (staff, volunteers and worshippers) of the needs of children and vulnerable adults and actively promote the philosophy that their interests are paramount.
The successful applicant will be responsible for the development and implementation of Cathedral safeguarding arrangements, good practice, policy and training. The Cathedral Safeguarding Officer will make sure that safeguarding risks are appropriately managed and ensure that the Cathedral is applying any emerging national policies, procedures and best practice so that our ways of working continue to remain current.
NB: The successful applicant will play a leading role in the preparation for the upcoming INEQE safeguarding audit of Southwark Cathedral and Southwark Diocese scheduled June 2026. They will be supported in this aim by the appointed INEQE action group.
The role carries responsibility for safeguarding casework, including ensuring that allegations of abuse are promptly and appropriately handled, and where appropriate referred to the statutory authorities. Further, the role holder will effectively communicate and engage with survivors and victims of abuse.
The Cathedral Safeguarding Officer will advise the Cathedral on all safeguarding matters ensuring that all advice is in line with the law, government guidance and national policy and guidance from the House of Bishops. They will be supported in their role by three experienced volunteer cathedral safeguarding representatives who offer knowledge and experience of the cathedral. 2. To provide in person safeguarding training for Cathedral volunteers & staff.
3. To work closely with the Director of Music and the Sub-Dean to ensure that the children and young people in the cathedral choirs and Sunday school are effectively safeguarded
4. To be responsible for recording, investigating and managing all Safeguarding concerns;
5. To assist the CSL with production of monthly and annual safeguarding reports and to attend Chapter (as required) and Committee Meetings (as directed).
6. To assist in the production of risk assessments, policies and procedures where there are safeguarding aspects to them.
7. To provide advice in relation to obtaining criminal record checks (DBSs) for staff and volunteers.
8. To work collaboratively with the National Safeguarding Team (NST) and other Church of England Safeguarding Officers and attend national safeguarding events and activities as required.
9. To engage in professional supervision and quality assurance provided by the relevant NST Regional Safeguarding Lead.

About the role

This new role will focus on driving business development and fundraising opportunities, and ensuring robust contract administration across METRO's HIV services. Reporting to the Head of HIV or Director of Services, the Senior Manager (HIV Services): Business Development and Team Coordination plays a vital role in strengthening the sustainability and effectiveness of METRO's HIV services.
The post holder will support the development of funding proposals and bids, build and maintain relationships with funders, commissioners, and partners, and contribute to fundraising activity to secure the future of HIV services. Alongside this, the post holder will provide hands-on support to the team with contract management, producing high-quality data-led reports, monitoring outcomes, and ensuring compliance with funder requirements.
This role acts as a bridge between delivery teams and METRO's leadership, being part of its Senior Management Team (SMT), and enabling services to thrive by ensuring contracts are well-managed, reports are accurate and timely, and opportunities for growth and sustainability are actively pursued.
Programme
METRO runs various HIV prevention and support services across London and the Southeast. These services include pan London and local HIV prevention services, HIV support services including advice and advocacy and family support, HIV peer mentoring and counselling services. Many of these services are delivered in partnership with agencies such as the GMIPartnership consisting of Spectra, Positive East, and our collaborations with THT, Positively UK and Africa Advocacy Foundation. Our services are also embedded in other sexual health partnerships, such as the SASH programme, which consists of our partnerships with Turning Point, London Friend and Naz. We also work with several NHS Trusts as part of our work with the London HIV Fast Track Cities programme and wider programmes.
