FTWW is looking for a full-time Volunteer and Community Coordinator! The successful candidate will strengthen community activity by engaging with external stakeholders and members of the public, increasing our reach and volunteer numbers. They will ensure that volunteers are supported and equipped to participate in a wide range of activities, both in-person and online.

The role is full-time home-based within Wales, with occasional travel to events and meetings, so a driving licence and access to a car would be an advantage.

We are a small but mighty charity where no two days are the same. You may be involved in facilitating an online coproduction event one day and speaking at the Senedd the next so excellent communication skills are a must. We currently have over 90 registered volunteers and a key part of the role will be to develop our volunteer programme.  As a small team, you will also support our part-time Engagement Coordinator, so there will be plenty of opportunity to demonstrate your creative skills too.

The ability to speak Welsh, or a willingness to learn, is desirable. We may also consider part time hours, or a job share for the right candidates. Please note in your application if this applies to you.

Purpose of the role

To support the communications team in raising the profile of Day One, primarily on social media and with a focus on short-form video content. 

As a staff ambassador for Day One, championing our values and behaviours and being committed to the difference that Day One makes is essential. The role sits within our Fundraising and Communications Department and will support the wider team.

Key responsibilities 

The post holder’s primary duties and responsibilities are as follows: 

• Lead the day-to-day management of Day One's social networks 
• Create content for Day One’s social media accounts, website and email marketing 
• Create video content for Day One’s social media channels and YouTube 
• Work closely with Day One’s Services Team to identify patient stories which demonstrate the charity’s impact 
• Write case studies and ‘stories of recovery’ based on the experiences of our service users and volunteers 
• Support the management of Day One’s paid advertising campaigns on social media 
• Assist the communications and fundraising team with various tasks including: 
• Assisting with events marketing 
• Assisting with website content creation 
• Supporting digital fundraising 
• Support the wider Day One organisation with effective communications 

What we’ll need from you

This job is all about supporting the communications team in raising the profile of Day One, primarily on social media and with a focus on short-form video content. You’ll need to be a great communicator and creative thinker with a passion for making great digital content. You will work closely with our service users, volunteers and staff to make compelling content for social media in both written and video form. You will need to be creative, proactive, empathetic and adaptable. Working closely with our fundraising and communications team, you’ll ensure people remain at the heart of our work by telling powerful stories that resonate with our audiences and effectively communicate the impact of major trauma and the support Day One provides. As we are a small organisation, you will need to be ready to support the wider team with fundraising and service delivery projects.

Who you’ll be working with

You’ll work as a key member of our friendly, experienced and enthusiastic communications and fundraising team. We're a small, hard-working team with big ambitions, but we still make the time to support each other. You’ll be line-managed by me (Digital Communications Officer), and work alongside our Communications Manager Dave and Marketing and Communications Officer Harriet. You’ll be supported by our Fundraising and Communications Director, a supportive SLT and board of trustees, and work alongside six fantastic fundraising colleagues. This position is new for the charity, so there is lots of scope for you to carve out the role and make it your own. We’ll support you, so together we can become the charity that communication professionals want to work for: because of the impact we have on the lives of major trauma patients and their families, our inclusive culture, professional development opportunities and exceptional communications.

Community Organising

We train thousands of people each year to lead change in their communities, through the craft of Broad-based Community Organising, equipping them and their institutions with the skills to hold powerholders to account. We organise with 500+ member organisations in powerful alliances throughout the UK, and in South London Citizens we organise in ten boroughs with almost 100 member organisations. Our members include schools, universities, faith groups, parents’ groups, health practices, charities, migrant hubs and other civil society organisations. 

Purpose 

At Citizens UK, our organisers and project staff work within communities to develop leaders, strengthen organisations, campaign for change and organise across difference. This work is rewarding and can be challenging; it requires a personal commitment to inclusion, a willingness to listen and disagree respectfully, and an interest in working in an organisation where our staff, member institutions and leaders will come from a diversity of backgrounds and often hold views that may be very different from our own. Onboarding and navigating this relational culture, and type of work, is supported by line managers and further training. 

Main Responsibilities 

The principal responsibility of an Associate Organiser is their own development: learning the craft of Community Organising under the guidance of an experienced Community Organiser. You will work intensively with a small number of member organisations under close supervision, growing your experience, skill and responsibility incrementally. An Associate Organiser is working towards becoming a competent practitioner of the craft of broad-based community organising methodology, and focuses on the building of relational power, the recruitment and retention of dues-paying institutions, the development of leaders, the strengthening of member institutions, leader-led public actions, and the winning of systemic change.

This role is particularly to organise with Be Well Organisations in Greenwich and Bexley. Be Well Organisations may be faith, education, or community institutions, tackling isolation and poor mental health by: 1. Building relationships, 2. Signposting and offering practical support, and 3. Taking action on structural and systemic inequalities and injustices. But you may also work on other campaign priorities and responsibilities as needed across the team. 

We are looking for people who are angry about injustice, who believe ordinary people have the power to make change, and who are motivated to learn the craft of Broad-based Organising. The role is hugely varied, and involves working across the two boroughs, in different institutions and context, and with a lot of independence.

Working as an Associate Organiser in South London Citizens, your main responsibilities will include: 

Build relational power to further the goals of CUK 

• Actively participate in the development of a comprehensive power analysis appropriate to the desired sphere of influence for each project/assignment 

• Establish working relationships with identified leaders and demonstrate ability to move them into action, including as part of the wider alliance; taking the initiative to establish new relationships

• Conduct 15-20 weekly one-to-ones to develop relationships with leaders and understand their concerns. 

• Tell a wide range of Community Organising stories effectively to influence others and achieve CUK’s goals 

Identify and develop relational leaders prepared to act with others for the common good 

• Identify and discern actual and potential leaders with the passion and ability to drive change

• Proactively create opportunities for leaders to develop, especially tertiary or new leaders; nominate for training on the core taster curriculum 

• Successfully deliver training workshops in local institutions and on the core taster curriculum at a local level 

Strengthen institutions and develop BBOs 

• Ensure good understanding of the basic interests and traditions of typical member institutions 

• Organise several Be Well Organisations to participate more fully in the alliance 

• Support pre-existing core teams and create/develop new core teams to provide leadership

• Liaise with the Finance & Operations team to update the membership database and ensure timely invoicing and fee collection

Our Organisers work closely with member institutions and will be expected to attend and lead events that take place in the evenings and weekends. We operate a Time Off in Lieu approach and have very flexible working arrangements to ensure a good work-life balance. 

The successful applicant will be required to undertake a satisfactory Enhanced DBS check. DBS checks are renewed on a 3-year cycle.

We seek a proactive Philanthropy Manager to join its successful Fundraising Team and lead the organisation's first-ever major donor programme. Reporting to the Director of Fundraising, the postholder will develop and implement a new major donor strategy and cultivate long-term relationships with major donors. The Role

This Senior Research Fellow post offers the opportunity to join our team of researchers working to achieve PLP’s strategic objectives. This role will focus on ensuring that justice is accessible to all.

As a Senior Research Fellow, you will help us shape and deliver our research agenda. With support from PLP’s Research Director and colleagues across the organisation, you will develop and lead high-quality research. For a complex, global organisation (100 million users in 100+ countries), we're recruiting a Digital Marketing, Head of Website Transformation for a 12-month FTC (with potential to extend to 3-years). Reporting to the Group Marketing Director, this is a senior position within the Marketing and Communications team and will be key in transforming the website infrastructure for the organisation, leading the selection and implementation of a new CMS, ensuring the chosen platform aligns with marketing strategies and business goals.

This role will oversee the strategic development of a new website ecosystem for the organisation to simplify the domain structure and CMS in use for over 300 business and country specific websites. The goal is to ensure a successful CMS implementation empowers the marketing and communications team to create, manage and optimise content effectively, driving business growth and audience engagement.

Main Duties:

• Create a roadmap for the website ecosystem development, content, and functionality to align with organisation marketing and communication goals
• Act as SRO for procurement and the implementation of a new CMS

Your responsibilities will include delivering dynamic training sessions using pre-prepared materials; delivery could be online or face to face. Pioneer Mission Training

We run training for theology, mission and ministry at undergrad and postgrad levels validated by Durham University as part of Common Awards.. Our training is through the lens of mission, has a global perspective and is enabling innovative mission practice on the ground.

Your role

We are looking for a talented person who has a strong skillset in leadership and formation for mission in theological education, people and team management and who is strategic. You will effectively lead on teaching design and delivery, developing our training programmes, growing the student body and building a healthy team, along with being part of a cross organisational team of programme leads in the CMS Britain Hub.

Hays Senior Finance is proud to be working in partnership with Mid and North East Essex Mind who are looking to appoint a Part-time Head of Finance for 22.5 hours per week. This is a pivotal appointment where you will lead and deliver on financial aspects of their ambitious plans.

Mid and North East Essex Mind is a mental health charity with an annual turnover of almost £3million. The Head of Finance and Compliance is a key member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT).  You will help to determine the future direction of the charity and deliver high quality services in line with our charitable, contractual and legal obligations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for a small finance team including a Management Accountant and Finance Administrator whose responsibility is to produce high quality and insightful management information for managers, the senior leadership team and the Board of Trustees.  You will use your financial and analytical skills to assist with strategic and operational decisions across the organisation.

You will also lead the work on organisation wide compliance with accreditations including the Mind Quality Mark, Cyber Essentials and the NHS DSP Toolkit.  You will ensure compliance with our duties according to the Charity Commission, Companies House  and other financial and data protection requirements and will keep up to date with financial policies, practices, and regulations.

The charity has a collaborative and supportive team culture, so it is essential that you have the ability to “roll up your sleeves” and be involved in the day-to-day operations. In addition, a key element of the role will be leading and influencing others to continue to innovate and improve their financial processes. The Degrees Initiative is a UK-based NGO that builds the capacity of developing countries to evaluate solar radiation modification (SRM), a controversial proposal for reducing some impacts of climate change by reflecting sunlight away from the Earth. Degrees is neutral on whether SRM should ever be used, but we believe that developing countries should be empowered to conduct their own research and to play a central role in SRM discussions.

Degrees’ programmatic work is centred on capacity-building through research grants and North–South and South–South collaboration schemes, outreach activities, and cross-cutting community building. As part of this, Degrees runs workshops in the Global South that bring new voices into the SRM conversation, and our research funds support scientists and other experts in developing countries as they research what SRM could mean for their regions and become part of a global research community.

The Policy Engagement Assistant role offers a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate to help scale up the organisation’s work, building on the successes of the last decade, and to help the most climate-vulnerable countries make up their own minds about SRM. 

Joining a growing team, the Policy Engagement Assistant will support the Policy Engagement and Programmes teams through the provision of administrative services to ensure the efficient organisation of, execution of, and participation in events. Secondarily, the Assistant will provide general administrative support to the Policy Engagement team. 

The Policy Engagement Assistant will work under the supervision of the Policy Engagement Director, while supporting the Policy Engagement Managers and the Programmes team. Responsibilities will include: 

• Arranging travel, lodging and other travel logistics for Degrees staff, funded scientists, policymakers, and other external participants; 

• Arranging meeting facilities; 

• Facilitating requests for visas and other travel authorisations; 

• Serving as a point of contact for external event participants’ queries about travel and events; 

• Ensuring proper distribution of information documents and meeting minutes in a timely manner;

• Drafting general and formal correspondence; reviewing and formatting documents and slides according to style;

We are seeking to appoint a full-time Events and Marketing Assistant to provide support for a range of events and marketing-related activities. This is a permanent post, subject to confirmation after a probationary period of 6 months. The post would be particularly suited to a recent events management or marketing graduate looking to develop a career in events management or in marketing for a charity or educational organisation.

The Role

The person appointed will report to the Director of Marketing and Communications and work as part of a small team of staff responsible for events and marketing. The person will be involved in all aspects of the marketing and events team’s work including:

• Setup and support for the running of events for the Institute;
• Dealing with event enquiries on a day to day basis;
• Running online events including recording and editing of video recordings;
• Recording events using still photography and posting on the websites and social media;
• Updating and maintaining the Marketing and Events team documentation and databases;
• Creation of content and posting on the BIICL social media channels;
• Maintenance of the BIICL websites including creation and updating of content using the sites’ CMS;
• Production and editing of printed and digital materials for events and other marketing activity;
• Liaising with a range of stakeholders including members, event attendees, suppliers and partner organisations;
• Online research for targeting of BIICL events and courses;
• Ad hoc administrative support on events and marketing related tasks.

Person Specification

It is expected that the successful applicant will demonstrate and provide evidence of the following:

•  A degree or equivalent experience in event co-ordination or marketing;
• Experience of supporting events;
• Effective project management skills and good attention to detail;
• Strong administrative and organisational skills;
• A personable, presentable and articulate team member with the ability and willingness to work collaboratively and collegially with colleagues;
• Good copywriting skills and the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and succinctly;
•  An interest in the design of marketing communications;
• Highly proficient user of MS 365 and office programmes, social media platforms and Zoom / other video conferencing software;
