As our Integrated Care Systems Lead, you will play a pivotal role in steering Affinity Trust's engagement with Integrated Care Systems (ICSs) across the UK. Your primary focus will be building robust relationships with ICSs, aligning our services with their strategic ambitions, and securing new social care contracts. Who: We are looking for an experienced, self-starting Finance Manager for the Central Foundation Schools of London, a charity supporting two state schools in London, with investments and endowments in the region of £40m.

Responsibilities: The Finance Manager will be responsible through the CEO to the Board, for day-to-day management of the charity’s accounts and all financial operations. They will manage the financial record keeping, payroll, pensions, banking and oversee the tracking of Foundation’s investments and income. The postholder will provide accurate financial management information, including quarterly cashflow forecasting and management accounts and co-ordinating the annual budget setting process.  They will be responsible for preparing the annual accounts to the required standards and overseeing the annual audit process. They will also provide advice on a range of operational issues to ensure sound asset management, value for money and compliance with statutory requirements relevant to the charity’s financial operations. They will contribute to the shared leadership of the organisation including collaborating on the implementation of the Foundation’s strategy.

Our Work: For over 150 years, the Central Foundation Schools of London has supported two schools in inner London. Between them, the Girls’ School at Bow Road, Tower Hamlets and the Boys’ School is based in Cowper Street, Islington provide places to over 2,500 young people. Today, the Foundation continues to benefit students at these two schools while also supporting the schools to strengthen the opportunities, facilities and educational excellence for current and future students.

Our People: We are a small team with three part time staff managing the day to day work of the Foundation.  A Board of 18 trustees/directors volunteer their time and skills and collaborate closely with the small staff team. In 2022 the Board started a process of transformation and modernisation of the charity’s operations and processes. In 2023, alongside refreshing our governance, supporting two major building programmes and updating our financial operations, we established our first strategy addressing how we can best support the Schools over the next decade and more. 

The Role: To support the exciting opportunities presented by the new strategy, Central Foundation Schools for London are recruiting a permanent Finance Manager to provide professional management of the charity’s accounts, ensuring the charity’s operational effectiveness and efficiency, accurate financial management information and advice, preparation of the annual budget, management of our investment portfolio as well as compliance with statutory for the production of the Annual Statutory Accounts in compliance with latest SORP and legislation.

Experience: We are looking for a fully qualified accountant with good post-qualification experience with the ability to work independently and lead the charity’s financial operations.

Hours: Working 2 days a week, the appointed candidate will have the flexibility agree their working pattern with the chief executive. Ideally, the new Finance Manager would work Tuesday or Wednesday (or both) on site in the Foundation office when other staff members are also on site.

Our Offer: Salary £48,000 - £54,000 pro rata dependant on experience;b ased near Old Street, with flexibility in days/hours by agreement; enhanced employer pension with option to join from day 1; 25 days holiday plus bank holidays (pro-rata); taining and development support, including support for continuing professional development.

JOB PROFILE
Reporting to the UK Head of Communications and Giving (HC&G), you will be at the forefront of demonstrating to the public how Afghanaid is changing lives in Afghanistan, and raise awareness of key issues communities we work with are facing. You will lead the development and delivery of the organisation’s media and PR strategy, building out Afghanaid’s capacity to pitch stories, field opportunities, cultivate a strong network of journalists and high profile supporters, and ultimately secure coverage and opportunities that drive the success of the organisation’s campaigns and heighten Afghanaid’s credibility and profile.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Media and Public Relations

• Design and action an annual Media and PR strategy based on wider team and organisational goals;
• Conceptualise and deliver strategic earned media campaigns, supporting the HC&G to execute and maximise the success of multi-channel campaign development and execution;
• Proactively identify, pitch and advocate for compelling stories, strategically engaging with journalists to expand message reach and ensure brand integrity;
• Field inbound media inquiries, liaising with journalists and colleagues to maximise opportunities;
• Craft and distribute timely press releases, comments, and statements;
• Work with colleagues to cultivate a strong spokesperson team, with a particular focus on developing Afghanaid’s thought leadership;
• Support spokesperson briefing, developing talking points, interview briefs, Q&A materials and drafting speeches;
• Compile up-to-date and detailed media lists, cultivating warm media contacts through high quality stewardship;
• Monitor media coverage on Afghanistan and Afghanaid, including articles, live news, and social media activity to keep abreast of unfolding stories, identifying trends, cultural moments and other opportunities relevant to Afghanaid and devising ways to get involved;
• Generate content for various owned communication channels including the website, newsletters, and social media platforms, keeping the Media hub on the website up to date with the latest news, coverage, and journalist information, and making suggestions for refinement.
• Work with Communications Officer to maintain and execute a coordinated communications calendar, ensuring day-to-day team activities via earned, paid and digital communications streams are synchronised and symbiotic;
• Identify a wide range opportunities for positive exposure of Afghanaid that may inspire new support;
• Work with HC&G to support relationship management of external agencies and consultants, identifying and responding to opportunities to utilise pro-bono support from such businesses;
• Collect and analyse data and produce reports and presentations on key media and PR performance indicators to assess the effectiveness and reach of our communications activities and make recommendations for improvement;
• Identify and pursue opportunities to utilise high profile and celebrity support. Work collaboratively with other members of the Communications and Giving team to engage these contacts in media campaigns, appeals, digital communications and events, and where possible and appropriate cultivate Ambassador-style partnerships;
• Attend relevant events, external fora and working group meetings and identify opportunities for involvement with advocacy initiatives, particularly those within the climate space, that benefits Afghanaid’s goals and reputation;

As Trusts and Foundations Officer you will be Baobab’s key fundraiser and a self-starter with experience of working in a small or medium sized charity. You will be responsible for carrying out a successful program of fundraising from small, medium and large charitable trusts and foundations to an agreed annual fundraising target. You will also assist in delivering Baobab’s individual major donor programme, helping to set up and deliver communications and events related to this income stream. You will work closely with our operations team to gain an overview of all aspects of Baobab’s work. As an organisation, we are transforming our culture to be data and insight driven and this role will play a major part in making that happen.

We are looking for an experienced Microsoft SQL Developer to design, develop, and maintain SQL Server databases that support our business applications and operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL programming, and database performance optimisation.

Working alongside our solutions architect, you’ll be responsible for the development and management of our data import processes by managing and onboarding new data feeds through our bespoke ETL tool, the Message Broker. You’ll be focused on developing and translating business reasoning into data transformation. You’ll act as a key conduit between teams – ensuring new functionality is rolled out effectively to become business as usual. Find the best ways of importing and validating customer data, so we can build long term relationships with our customers and keep them coming back for more. You’ll get involved at the briefing stage and see it through to delivery of data, championing security, governance, quality and accuracy at every step along the way. 

This is role is currently seconded to the Technology Directorate, working on the delivery of the charity’s key IT systems such as the current migration from Raisers Edge 7 to Raisers Edge NXT CRM.

Purpose of the Role:

Bow Foodbank is proud  to have developed a highly trusted relationship with our guests and the community. We are often the first point of call for people when they are starting to struggle financially. We want to use our trusted place in the community to support our guests with more than just food, helping to connect them into a wide range of services and community groups - aiming to help guests to build their resilience and move them away from the causes of poverty. This will be done by inviting specialist partners to offer their services at our centre, as well as training and overseeing our volunteers in signposting guests to services that will help them build their resilience. We want to do this in a way that builds dignity so will aim to follow up with them the impact of any referrals and how they have improved guest wellbeing. Our aim is to limit the length of time guests depend on any foodbank and increase the community’s access to support services and community groups.

This role will train and oversee the work of our volunteers in signposting guests to high quality services. They will be responsible for holding guest voice strategy and will feed into the senior leadership team the opinions of our guests so we can continually improve the service we offer them.

This role will build partnerships with organisations to create support pathways. We want to maximise use of our building by creating a support ‘marketplace’ inviting partners into the foodbank and increasing guest access to the broadest range of services.

To be successful in the role, successful candidate will need:

• Thorough practical understanding and experience of working within the context of locally led partnership model in international development.
• Understanding of what decolonisation of aid looks like in practice.

• Practical understanding of and demonstrating our organisational values: Love, Collaboration and Integrity.
• Experience in a senior leadership role within a third sector organisation or proven transferrable experience from other sectors.
• Ability to communicate the vision and direction that the organisation is moving towards, but also the ability to translate them into practical steps, communicate them and any changes with clarity.
• Due to the history of both organisations and the relationships with key stakeholders and partners, it would be desirable for the CEO to be an active Christian; however it is not an essential requirement.

Location: This role is contractually based in Central London; however, we currently operate a hybrid working model with regular whole team face to face meetings once a month. Board meetings are held quarterly and are normally in-person; this role will also require attending meetings across the UK and internationally to represent both charities, sometimes involving weekends and/or evenings.

You'll play a crucial role in supporting the administration and coordination of learning and organisational development initiatives with the charity, ensuring the smooth implementation of training programmes, development initiatives and cultural change projects across the organisation.

You'll maintain records and certifications to ensure compliance with learning and training regulations, whilst developing, maintaining and supporting the LMS by running reports, uploading relevant content and responding to queries. You'll coordinate the delivery of onboarding induction, continued L+D programmes, and OD interventions as required.

• Experience in providing administrative support in HR or L+D
• CIPD qualification and/or working towards attaining a professional qualification in the field of learning and organisational development

Head of People

We are seeking an experienced Head of People to drive forward the HR Strategy, manage the People Team, and support a growing Network of Youth Zones.

This is a permanent role offering hybrid working.

Position: Head of People

Location: Hybrid working. Blend of home-based and office (you must live within regular commutable distance of Bolton or White City, London)

Salary: £55,000 to £60,000 (dependent upon experience)

About the Role

Reporting to the Director of People, a key focus of this role will be to provide hands-on management to an experienced People consisting of a People Support Manager and Talent Acquisition Coordinator.

However, it is much wider than team management; it is about relationships. Relationships with internal colleagues, relationships with Network contacts, and relationships with third party suppliers. The role is seen as a crucial support function for the youth zones, and it is imperative that you are able to build rapport quickly and be an approachable and knowledgeable source of expertise and support for colleagues.

Some of your key duties include:

• Providing professional management, support and development to the People team
• Supporting the delivery and implementation of the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Strategy
• Coaching, supporting and advising on complex ER matters; upskilling managers with regular training and support
• Supporting senior level recruitment across the charity’s Network
• Supporting the continued launch of PeopleHR

About You

You must have proven HR Leadership experience and have managed varied HR Teams. If this experience has been gained from organisations that service young people – even better!

Other experience and skills you will need include:

• Experience of managing and overseeing HR systems and budgets
• Experience of promoting and supporting a coaching culture
• In-depth knowledge of employment law
• The ability to develop and nurture relationships across the organisation
• A proactive and agile work ethic
• A curious mindset, to think innovatively and rationally about concerns and come up with creative solutions
• The ability to accept and provide feedback, be challenged on your advice, and work well under pressure

The Fundraising CRM Transformation Data Manager will play a crucial role in an exciting project to transform the technology that underpins all our fundraising activities. In this role you will support us to maximise fundraising efforts, enhance donor relationships, and drive revenue growth for the organisation.

As the Fundraising CRM Transformation Data Manager, you will play a pivotal role in helping us move successfully from Raiser’s Edge 7 to Dynamics 365.
