As our Operations Director, you will direct and control the ongoing operations of Birmingham Open Spaces Forum (BOSF), to achieve the strategic and business performance objectives required by the Trustees. 

We are seeking a collaborative and purpose-driven leader with a strong commitment to the welfare of livestock animals to lead and coordinate our technical operations and service delivery.

The ideal candidate will be highly organised, people-focused, able to inspire, manage and develop teams while delivering high-quality training, education, and advice services. 

The Technical Lead will manage the Humane Slaughter Association’s (HSA) operational and practical work to promote humane slaughter and transport of livestock (including farmed and wild-caught aquatic species) worldwide. They will lead a small team who undertake the operational work in the field, promoting humane methods for the transport and slaughter of animals killed for food and other products.

The successful candidate will join at an exciting period of growth and reorganisation for the HSA as we introduce online learning, grow and broaden our training and advice services and become an increasingly strong voice for practical improvements to the welfare of animals at slaughter. This is an ideal role for someone who is passionate about making real-world improvements to animal welfare using their technical knowledge and organisational skills.

The Humane Slaughter Association is a unique charity which promotes the welfare of farmed animals ‘Beyond the Farm Gate’; at markets, during transport, at slaughter, and when animals must be killed in emergencies.

Our vision: A world where all farmed animals are transported and killed humanely.

Our mission: To advance and promote the use of humane methods for the slaughter, transport and killing of farmed animals through research and education. 

We do this by offering practical advice, training, and education to all those involved in transport, slaughter, or emergency killing of livestock animals, by funding scientific research to develop more humane approaches and advocating for evidenced-based change. Although we are based in the UK, the charity works worldwide to maximise animal welfare.

Team & Events Coordinator

We are looking for a Team & Events Coordinator to join this charitable programme based on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus with a mission of working in partnership to develop and improve healthcare globally.

Position: Team & Events Coordinator
Location: Hybrid working to include a minimum of two days per week in the office on Cambridge Biomedical Campus, Cambridge / home working

About the role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join a small, passionate and growing team at a pivotal time in the organisation’s development. As Team & Events Coordinator, you will play a central role in supporting the smooth running of Cambridge Global Health Partnerships (CGHP) and delivering high-quality events for members, partners and supporters.

This is a varied and hands-on role, working across administration, finance, programmes, communications and events. You will be at the heart of the organisation, providing excellent coordination, organisation and stewardship, while helping the team maximise their impact both in the UK and internationally.

This role would suit either someone keen to develop a broad range of skills within the charity sector or an experienced administrator looking for a new and rewarding challenge.

Some of your key responsibilities will be to:

• Act as first point of contact for general enquiries.
• Manage organisational calendars, meetings and diary coordination for the Director and committees, including preparing papers and taking minutes.
• Maintain accurate records on the CRM database and support finance administration including processing payments and claims.
• Coordinate aspects of CGHP programmes, including member reports, grant scheme administration and virtual partnership meetings.
• Contribute to communications activity including social media, publications, website updates and branded materials.
• Lead on planning, logistics and delivery of CGHP events and support member and partner stewardship and networking activities.

About You:

To be successful in the role of Team & Events Coordinator, you will be exceptionally well organised, proactive and detail-oriented, with strong communication skills and a genuine interest in global health.

• At least three years’ experience in office administration, diary management and event organisation.

The Head of Fundraising is a senior leadership role responsible for driving sustainable income growth in support of In2scienceUK’s mission to widen access to STEM degrees and careers for young people from lower socio-economic backgrounds.

You will develop and deliver a bold, integrated fundraising strategy that secures and diversifies income across trusts and foundations, corporate partnerships, major donors, research grants and other income streams. Through compelling cases for support and clear articulation of impact, you will build confidence and long-term commitment among funders and strategic partners, unlocking new opportunities for growth and expansion.

Leading and developing a small, high-performing fundraising team, you will oversee prospecting, relationship management and stewardship, ensuring a professional, data-led and donor-centred approach. You will work closely with senior colleagues and programme teams to translate organisational priorities and impact into strong funding propositions that maximise income potential.

You will proactively identify, cultivate and manage strategic funding relationships, positioning In2scienceUK as a credible and ambitious partner. Responsibilities 

Fundraising & Development

• To collaborate with the senior leadership team and trustees in setting organisational strategy and building strategic partnerships to support In2science’s vision for 2026 and beyond.

• Lead on planning, implementation and delivery of segmented fundraising and stewardship campaigns across programmes and audiences with a 2026 income target of £1.5m. 

• Lead and manage a diverse fundraising portfolio, including corporate partnerships, trusts and foundations, research grants (e.g., UKRI), government funding, and individual giving.

• To lead a small but effective fundraising team, including an external fundraising contractor to build upon our success to date to achieve funding targets and foster strategic relationships with funding and delivery partners.

• Budget and resource all aspects of fundraising and communications, including engaging with external contractors to maximise our output and upskill our teams.

• Work closely with the Head of Operations to oversee our CRM, ensuring accurate pipeline reporting and forecasting, as well as utilising the system for tailored stewardship opportunities.

• Work closely with our programmes team to ensure that deliverables are met and in line with our mission and objectives.

• Explore opportunities for partnership to launch new programmes and initiatives, working with the Data and Impact manager to use national data to ensure we deliver the greatest possible impact to those most in need.

Governance

• To work with the SMT, CEO, and Trustees to ensure strong charity governance, including leading the Growth Subcommittee and preparing reports for quarterly board meetings.

• Identify organisation-wide opportunities to streamline and improve performance across the organisation.

• Working with SMT and trustees to ensure charity compliance. Including the charity commission, funding regulator, ICO.

• Identify and manage organisational/operational risk and ensure that all measures are in place to mitigate this.

Person Specification

Essential:

• A passionate advocate for social mobility in STEM.

• An inspiring leader who can inspire and collaborate across the organisation to achieve our collective goals.

• Three years experience of leading a fundraising team to generate a seven-figure annual income from a diverse range of donors, ideally in a charitable organisation.

• Knowledge of all streams of fundraising, with direct experience in at least two of the following: corporate fundraising, trust and foundations, research grants e.g. UKRI, government grants or individual giving (incl. high-net worth donors).

• A target driven individual with a proven track record of personal six-figure income generation and achieving or exceeding personal targets.

• Excellent relationship management skills to steward existing and potential partners and donors.

• Experience of line management including developing personal development plans and setting KPIs.

• Superb written and verbal communication skills with the ability to persuade and influence at all levels..

• Evidence of efficient and accurate management of budgets and resources.

• Willingness to work flexibly and attend occasional events or meetings on evenings/weekends when required.

Lead financial stewardship during a critical period of change

A well-established, mission-driven organisation working at the forefront of climate and environmental impact across Europe is seeking an Interim Chief Financial Officer to lead its finance function through a period of transition and organisational change.

Operating across multiple European jurisdictions, the organisation plays a key role in shaping policy, influencing decision-makers, and delivering practical solutions to some of the most pressing environmental challenges of our time. This interim role offers the opportunity to bring stability, rigour and clarity to the finance function while supporting senior leadership and trustees through a complex and evolving operating context.

The role

Reporting into the executive leadership team, the Interim Chief Financial Officer will have responsibility for financial operations, control, compliance and reporting across multiple charitable entities in Europe.

You will lead and develop a small, cross-border finance team, oversee external providers, and ensure that robust systems, processes and governance are in place to support the organisation’s mission and growth.

Financial management & control

• Maintain and strengthen a robust financial control framework

This new role at Young Sounds UK will lead on securing grant income from and coordinating relationships with Trusts and Foundations. This will include identifying and researching funders, submitting compelling applications and completing timely and accurate reports.
