A Charity that supports young people are recruiting for a Financial Planning Business Analyst on an initial 9-month contract to support the implementation of a new budgeting and forecasting software tool. The postholder will be working extremely closely with the Finance Director, Finance Business Partners, and system teams to understand budgeting and data requirements. 

Your duties will include:

• Lead on the delivery of selecting and implementing a new budgeting and forecasting tool
• Support organisation to update the needs and requirements of the budgeting and planning tool along with the processes that will support, helping to automate and improve any inefficiencies and/or complexities

Reporting to the Director of Resources, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial operations, ensuring these are compliant with statutory requirements and that financial controls are appropriate and effective. You will also maintain a financial planning framework that will facilitate the delivery of the Academy’s financial strategy. 

Specific areas of focus will include. 

• Prepare statutory consolidated Group accounts and accounts for the trading subsidiary, including managing the relationship with external auditors. 
• Contribute to the annual budget-setting process, in conjunction with the Director of Resources.
• Manage the day-to-day operations of the finance team and achievement of key goals and priorities. 
• Contribute to the introduction of a new Finance system.
• Prepare and monitor cash-flow forecasts, including appropriate analysis between restricted and unrestricted funds, and maintain records of restricted income and expenditure.
• Manage the DSIT (Department of Science, Innovation & Technology) monthly grant claim process.
• Support the Development team with donor reporting requirements. 

What you need to succeed

You will be a qualified accountant and will be able to provide excellent financial management and reporting for the organisation. You will be confident working with internal and external stakeholders and will be capable of considering their different requirements and priorities. A good understanding of restricted and unrestricted income would be a distinct advantage, as well as an understanding of donor reporting requirements. You will be committed to continual improvement of systems and enhancing the overall service provided by the finance team.

We are seeking a highly organised and motivated Operations Support Officer to join our team at MRS Independent Living. 

About the role

In this varied and rewarding role, you will provide vital administrative, financial, and operational support across a range of our services that enable older people and those living with disabilities and mental health challenges to stay independent, active and connected to their communities. 

Your day-to-day tasks will include:

• Administration: You'll be integral to delivery of our handyperson service, exercise programmes for older people and decluttering service, managing enquiries, referrals, bookings, invoices and payments.

• Project Support: You'll help support our community projects, supervising activities where needed, assisting with admin and data collection, and being a point of contact for new and existing volunteers. 

• General Operations: You'll wear many hats, supporting senior staff with HR, training, communications, IT, health & safety, and providing a friendly face. 

We are looking for someone who:

• Has empathy and can communicate effectively with a diverse range of service users, including older adults, those with disabilities, and those facing mental health challenges.

• Is a whiz with administration, has a keen eye for detail, and can work comfortably and effectively across multiple projects.

• Is confident using (or comfortable learning to use) a range of software and collaborative platforms (e.g. Google Workspace, Trello, Airtable) and accounts management software (ideally QuickBooks). 

• Has a warm, friendly personality and a proactive attitude, eager to contribute ideas and support colleagues.

• Is a team player who can adapt to changing priorities and a fast-paced environment.

It will be a bonus if you have:

• Experience working with third sector (community and voluntary) organisations.

• Experience as a volunteer or supporting volunteers.

• Familiarity with social media platforms like Twitter and WhatsApp.

• An interest in learning more about charity functions like fundraising and community development, and charity/social enterprise management in general.

As Head of Public Fundraising you will support the Director of Fundraising and work with the wider fundraising and communications team collaboratively to ensure public fundraising is integrated into plans for wider income growth and Born Free's communications.

As Head of Public Fundraising you will;

* Support the Director of Fundraising to deliver a contemporary and ambitious multi-faceted public fundraising strategy
* Develop and grow income and engagement from individuals, both new and existing, through individual giving, data/insights, supporter care, legacy, DIY fundraising and challenge events.
* Provide end-to-end management, from concept to delivery, of Born Free's appeals and fundraising campaigns
* Proactively explore and test new cost-effective methods for donor recruitment and retention
* Line manage and support the development of a team of 5

This position would ideally suit a candidate who has demonstrable experience of creativity and innovation in individual giving fundraising across a range of channels. The Head of Public Fundraising will;

* Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Have previous experience of developing and delivering a programme of initiatives to maximise income and engagement from individual supporters
