Summary
The purpose of this role is to use communications to contribute to the success of Nesta’s healthy life mission, which aims to halve obesity by 2030. The post holder will lead on strategic communications for the healthy life mission, seeking and securing opportunities for Nesta to advance its policy agenda and build its public profile.
This includes proposing and planning communications, partnership development and management, public affairs activities; being the strategic lead for stakeholder relationships across the mission; and owning the mission narrative and messaging, ensuring salience and consistency of key messages and communications outputs.
The role will:
- Lead on strategic communications: translating and applying communications skills to a health context, providing tailored communications advice that is specific to the domain area to deliver high-impact communications activity for the mission. This will include the development and delivery of influencing strategies for our policy priorities and related public affairs activity.
- Draft and edit a variety of communications content, driving through from conception to delivery and evaluation.
- Act as strategic lead on healthy life mission stakeholder relationships: identifying target stakeholders, having an overview of engagement with them across the mission, planning and supporting engagement activities.
- Manage partnership communications with partners, from high profile industry partners to NGOs, identifying and mitigating risks to protect Nesta’s reputation and spotting and delivering on opportunities to enhance it
- Use excellent project and people management skills to coordinate the smooth, efficient delivery and evaluation of a number of high-impact communications campaigns at any one time.
- Lead on discrete communications projects such as commissioning creative content, audience research or narrative development and testing.
This role sits as part of both the communications team (made up of specialists across media, marketing, events and content production), and healthy life mission team (including experts across policy, research, behavioural science, data science and design).
The role does not have direct line management responsibility, but all communications and mission team members are expected to play a role in supporting the learning and development of more junior members of the team.

The person
You should have the following skills and/or experience:
- Professional communications experience (essential): You will have proven experience of working in a communications or public affairs role. A creative thinker and experienced writer and editor, you will have experience of working on a variety of communications outputs designed to inform and influence different audiences and stakeholders, such as blogs, briefings and pitch decks.
- Managing integrated communications campaigns (essential): You will have proven experience of driving and delivering successful communications campaigns to achieve policy impact and influence.
- Project delivery skills (essential): You will have proven experience of delivering high-impact communications campaigns from conception to delivery and evaluation. You can proactively plan and deliver work, and identify and act on risks and find solutions.
- Strong interpersonal and networking skills (essential): You will have experience of applying these effectively to collaborate well with colleagues, build stakeholder relationships and develop partnerships.
- Knowledge of the UK health and/or food sector (essential): You will have knowledge of how the UK health and/or food sector works from experience gained in a heath and/or food-related communications role, either in the NHS, local or national government or the third sector. If you don’t have relevant professional professional experience, you will have a proven interest.
- Knowledge of political systems and government in the UK (desirable): You will have knowledge and understanding of how policy is made and developed, and of the wider political system, including central and devolved governments and parliaments, ideally gained in a professional context.
As with all members of the Nesta Group communications team, the postholder will also be at their best working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, have a flexible approach and an appetite for taking on new tasks and challenges. They will also have excellent written and verbal communication skills and a proven ability to write for a range of different audiences.
What we offer
Salary: £58,000 plus an array of benefits.

Hours: This is a full-time role, but we offer a range of flexible working arrangements and encourage our people to take advantage of them. Many do.

The Head of Clinical Governance will lead and enhance the organisation’s commitment to delivering high-quality, safe care for children. This role is pivotal in overseeing clinical governance frameworks, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, managing clinical risks, and implementing quality improvement initiatives. The postholder will work collaboratively across teams to promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement, aligning with The Children’s Trust’s strategic objectives. Whilst the post directly reports to the Director of Nursing and Quality, the remit of the role spans the whole organisation and works across all clinical directorates.

Duties and Responsibilities
Clinical Governance
- Develop and maintain an effective clinical governance framework that supports safe and high-quality care.
- Facilitate regular clinical governance meetings to discuss performance, incidents, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Ensure that clinical pathways and practices are aligned with best practice guidelines and evidence-based standards.
Patient Safety
- Lead initiatives to enhance patient safety across all services, promoting a culture of transparency and reporting.
- Implement and maintain the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF), ensuring that learning from incidents is captured and shared.
- Monitor and report on patient safety metrics, identifying areas for improvement and ensuring appropriate action plans are developed.
Clinical Risk Management
- Identify, assess, and manage clinical risks within the organisation, ensuring effective risk mitigation strategies are in place.
- Conduct regular reviews of incident reports and risk assessments to inform organisational learning and development.
- Oversee the management of serious incidents, ensuring thorough investigations and appropriate follow-up actions are completed.
Quality Improvement
- Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient outcomes and experiences.
- Lead quality impact assessments for new initiatives or changes in practice, evaluating potential risks and benefits and manage the organisational governance in relation to these.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to promote a culture of continuous quality improvement.
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, standards, and guidelines, including CQC regulations and national safety frameworks.
- Maintain an up-to-date understanding of regulatory changes and ensure organisational policies and practices reflect these updates.

The Children’s Trust is the UK’s leading charity for children with acquired brain injury, providing expert rehabilitation, education, therapy, and care at our national specialist centre in Tadworth, and to children and their families across the UK, via our Brain Injury Community Service.

The Head of Finance’s key priorities, in close collaboration with the Executive Leadership Team, are to lead and support the strategic and annual financial planning processes, and to prepare and analyse accurate and timely financial information for the Board of Trustees and the Directors of the Trading Company, ensuring compliance with all external financial reporting requirements.
Main Duties:
1. To provide an effective and accurate financial management and accountancy service to the Executive Leadership Team, Board of Trustees and Directors of the Trading Company.
2. Prepare annual budgets and monitor performance on a monthly basis against plan by the preparation and issue of monthly budget statements. Make recommendations on costing assumptions to be included within all budgets. For example, inflation rates.
3. Support the strategic direction of the business by leading on the preparation of 5 year financial forecasts to support strategic planning and to ensure the long term financial viability of the business.
4. Prepare and maintain financial accounts in a timely fashion and ensure they are consistent with external financial reporting standards and requirements.
5. Provide monthly financial information to the Executive Leadership Team, Board of Trustees and Directors of the Trading Company.
6. Prepare cash flow reports on a regular/quarterly basis and monitor cash requirements and advise the Board of Trustees, Directors of the Trading Company and Executive Leadership Team on the liquidity position of the business.
7. Provide advice on all financial matters, including issues arising in connection with charity legislation, to ensure that the business meets its legal financial obligations and complies will all external regulatory requirements.
8. Liaise with H.M. Revenue and Customs and VAT consultants regarding records and payments and ensure compliance with all regulations.
9. Ensure the provision of a monthly payroll service and ensure delivery of an accurate, reliable and quality payroll service to all staff.
10. To liaise with all regulatory external bodies in connection with any financial or charity matters, i.e. auditors, accountants, bank, solicitors, Charity Commission, Companies House, insurance company, pension advisors and others.
11. Annual completion of the Charity Commission self-assessment, ensuring that we comply with best practice.
12. Attend the meetings of the local networking groups as required.
13. Review and monitor performance of the business’s investments and provide up to date reports to the Board of Trustees, enabling them to make appropriate investment decisions.
14. As part of financial reporting, complete regular analysis of all income and expenditure, supporting budget holders as required to identify areas where cost savings and efficiencies can be made.
15. Support in the preparation of business cases as necessary across the business.
16. Support in the preparation of benchmarking information to assist in the determination of opportunities to improve the organisation’s financial position.
17. Support the business’s efforts to maximise income from all sources providing financial information and attending committees and other forums as required to assist in this.
18. Develop and maintain an asset register of all property across the business. Ensure capital accounting policies are agreed annually by the Finance Committee.
19. Ensure appropriate financial procedures, financial governance and policies are in place across the business and ensure they are regularly reviewed and appropriate.
20. Ensure good systems of financial control and checks are in place for all assets.
21.To manage and support staff in the Finance Department, ensuring they have the right knowledge and skills to carry out their duties effectively.
22. Ensure that all members of the leadership team (ELT and SLT) and the board have the necessary knowledge and support regarding financial matters including the provision of training if necessary.
23. Attend committees and key meetings to present relevant financial information at the request of the Executive Leadership Team, Board of Trustees and Directors of the Trading Company.
Performance Standards:
1. Annual income and expenditure budgets are approved annually and monitored monthly.
2. Management Accounts are aimed to be completed within 10 working days of month end and available for the Executive Leadership Team, Board of Trustees and Directors of the Trading Company.
3. Regulatory requirements are met as and when they fall due.
4. The provision of an accurate and reliable set of annual financial statements.
5. Meet with statutory and external organisations in a timely and professional manner.
6. Quarterly VAT returns, Annual Corporation Tax returns and other statutory returns are submitted in a timely manner.
7. With regard to financial records and reporting, to comply with and meet the standards of the Care Quality Commission.
8. Completion of all Charity Commission regulatory requirements.
9. Ensure that we have robust financial systems in place for all assets and liabilities incorporating monthly reviews of creditors and debtors.
10. Ensure financial information requirements of the Executive Leadership Team, Board of Trustees and Directors of the Trading Company are met in a timely manner.
11. Ensure that the business has financial systems and processes in place that will comply with regulatory requirements for healthcare services.
12. Be an active member of the Senior Leadership Team participating in all relevant meetings contributing where possible, to the achievement of business objectives.
13. To take rotational responsibility as Out of Hours Duty Manager, if required.
14. Provide advice, support and information to the Executive Leadership Team; Board of Trustees and Directors of the Trading Company on financial matters enabling the business to meet its objectives.
General Duties:
1. To liaise with Head of Human Resources to advise, where necessary, on all salary and pension matters, keeping up to date with changing legislation.
2. To communicate with the banks, HMRC, Department of Work and Pensions and all other relevant external bodies regarding all pension, tax and National Insurance issues.
3. To liaise with all Senior Leadership team colleagues to ensure payroll data is accurate and kept up to date.
4. To liaise with the Head of Fundraising in matters relating to fundraising income and expenditure and the fundraising and lottery database, ensuring that any information is an accurate reflection of income and expenditure.
5. To liaise with the Head of Retail in matters relating to the trading company’s income and expenditure, ensuring that all information provided is accurate.
6. To verify that insurance cover is appropriate and adequate for the various business functions and to ensure that it is kept up to date.
7. To ensure that there is compliance across the business with financial statutory regulations and internal financial policies.
8. Ensure that there is a robust information governance regime across all financial matters across the business.
9. To undertake and manage the annual appraisal process for the Finance Team, identifying any training and development needs.
10. Ensure that all members of the Finance Team attend mandatory and statutory training as required and that evaluations are undertaken to monitor effectiveness.
11. The post holder will adhere to all relevant legislation and policies of the business.

We are looking for a Community Fundraising Manager who will focus on leadership and net income growth of the Community Fundraising (CFR) team, who are based across the UK. The post holder will lead and manage the three regional engagement Officers, taking responsibility in actively supporting them to achieve in their posts.
To succeed in the role, you will need entrepreneurial thinking as well as being able to collaborate with colleagues across the UK to ensure consistent support for staff and volunteers, ensuring our community fundraising activities are delivered well, in a timely manner whilst always being mindful of the return on investment. The Community Fundraising Manager will be responsible for the delivery and growth of this area of fundraising and will be expected to meeting annual income targets and ensuring effective budget management.

Experience and Background

The role also requires proven ability in budget management, forecasting, and meeting annual income targets.
Success in this role calls for an entrepreneurial and strategic mindset, capable of identifying new opportunities for income generation while ensuring strong return on investment. The post holder must be highly collaborative, able to work effectively with colleagues across regions to drive alignment and deliver well-coordinated campaigns. Strong organisational and project-management skills are key, enabling the manager to oversee multiple initiatives delivered on time and to a high standard. Ultimately, the role requires a confident leader who can balance creativity with operational excellence, ensuring the community fundraising programme continues to grow and deliver meaningful impact.

ROLE OVERVIEW
Early intervention and education is considered critical in the development and resilience of young people to encourage safe experiences. Water plays a vital role in the way we live our lives but it can also result in devastation if not treated with caution. Providing young people with the knowledge and skills to make safe decisions around water is empowering, profound and life-saving.
You will be a passionate and ambitious leader with the skills, knowledge and experience to drive forward this area of work in collaboration with RLSS UK team members across the organisation. In 2025 the Department for Education (DfE) agreed for the Water Safety Code to be integrated into the newly released Relationships Education, Relationships and Sex Education, and Health Education (RSHE) statutory guidance for schools in England. RLSS UK were part of a collaboration of various organisations, who campaigned for this important change which is due to be embedded into the curriculum from September 2026. This role will be pivotal to ensuring that RLSS UK’s voice and expertise is maintained in this educational delivery as well as putting in place robust KPIs to allow us to assess its ongoing impact.
KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Water Safety and Education
• Lead on the development of an ‘Education Strategy’ for RLSS UK that ensures that more young people have access to high quality water safety education
• Represent RLSS UK at wider forums and groups as our water safety and education expert and identify opportunities to increase our impact further
• Work with the Education Manager to develop and deliver education pilots and interventions that are informed by the ‘Education Strategy’
• Work closely with the Policy and Public Affairs Manager to ensure that policy work blends seamlessly and consistently into our educational delivery
• Plan research and evaluation to inform future developments of RLSS UK’s education packages, ensuring that they are impactful and inclusive
• Extend the capability of the community to deliver water safety education, training volunteers, partners, and members to standardise the delivery of our education
• Work with the Education Manager to lead the growth of our education workforce so that RLSS UK is more visible in schools and youth settings across the UK and Ireland
• Work collaboratively with RLSS UK teams to raise awareness of our water safety and education offering and our impact

As a member of the wider leadership team, the Head of People will be central to building and embedding high-quality, values-led, and risk-aware people practices that enable Lumos to deliver its mission and long-term ambitions.
Working closely with Country Directors and HR focal points in country offices, the role supports the consistent application of global people frameworks while enabling appropriate local practice. The Head of People will play a key role in supporting Lumos to grow and operate safely across existing and new geographies, ensuring that people practices underpin organisational readiness, duty of care, and sustainable impact.
In close partnership with the Director of People & Operations, the Head of People provides expert insight into People strategy and organisational priorities and is accountable for translating agreed direction into consistent, effective delivery across the organisation. The role combines strategic thinking with strong operational leadership, ensuring that people frameworks, systems, and practices are embedded, trusted, and fit for purpose, and that values, culture, and ways of working are reflected in how work is done every day. This role will suit an experienced senior HR professional who enjoys shaping and embedding sustainable people practice, exercises sound judgement, and enables others to lead well. Primary responsibilities
People strategy contribution & execution
- Contribute expert insight, options, and analysis to the development of the People strategy, operating model, and organisational priorities.
- Translate the agreed People strategy into clear frameworks, plans, and delivery across the organisation.
- Ensure people initiatives are prioritised, resourced, and implemented effectively.
- Monitor impact and effectiveness, recommending adjustments based on data, risk, and organisational need.
Full employee lifecycle ownership (global)
- Own and oversee the operational delivery and quality assurance of the full employee lifecycle across all geographies.
- Ensure consistent, values-led, and safer recruitment practices are embedded across Lumos.
- Lead the design and delivery of high-quality induction and onboarding, embedding EDI, duty of care, and organisational culture from the outset.
- Oversee probation, performance cycles, development, progression, and exit processes.
- Ensure leaver processes, exit interviews, and data capture support organisational learning.
Performance, capability & leadership development
- Lead the implementation and embedding of Lumos’ performance management framework.
- Oversee annual objective-setting, performance reviews, and development planning.
- Build leadership and line manager capability through training, guidance, and coaching.
- Enable managers to take confident ownership of people management, feedback, and performance conversations.
Pay, rewards & progression
- Lead the delivery of pay and reward activity, including time-bound pay and reward reviews and job evaluation processes.
- Ensure reward approaches are equitable, transparent, affordable, and aligned with organisational values.
- Work closely with Finance and the Director of People & Operations to align reward activity with budgets and governance.
- Support the implementation of progression frameworks and guidance.
Employee relations, policy & legal frameworks
- Oversee the review, update, implementation, and monitoring of people-related policies, ensuring they are accessible, legally compliant, and consistently applied, while allowing for appropriate local context.
- Provide senior HR oversight and judgment on disciplinary, grievance, and complex employee relations matters.
- Act as an escalation point for managers and the Global HR Advisor, supporting proportionate and defensible decision-making.
- Ensure people practices reflect relevant legal frameworks across all countries of operation.
People risk & governance
- Lead the development and embedding of people-related risk frameworks across existing and new geographies.
- Ensure people risks are identified, mitigated, and monitored.
- Work closely with safeguarding, security, and operations colleagues to support joined-up risk management.
- Contribute to organisational governance and assurance through clear documentation and reporting.
Global partnership & country support
- Work closely with Country Directors and HR focal points to embed global people frameworks in country offices.
- Provide guidance, support, and constructive challenge to ensure consistent application of people policies and practices.
- Balance global consistency with appropriate local adaptation in line with legal and cultural contexts.
- Build HR capability and confidence across country teams.
EDI, culture & engagement
- Ensure equity, diversity, and inclusion are embedded across the employee lifecycle, policies, and people practices.
- Lead staff engagement activity, including surveys, analysis, and action planning.
- Support the development and reinforcement of a healthy, inclusive, and values-led organisational culture.
HR systems, data & insight
- Oversee people systems, tools, and workforce data to ensure accuracy, consistency, and insight.
- Work with the Global HR Advisor to strengthen tracking, dashboards, and reporting.
- Use people data to identify trends, risks, and priorities to inform effective decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with data protection and confidentiality requirements.
Leadership of the people function
- Line manage and develop the Global HR Advisor, providing clear direction, prioritisation, and support.
- Oversee time-bound HR consultancies, ensuring clear scope, value for money, and effective knowledge transfer.
- Act as a close partner to the Director of People & Operations, providing trusted judgment, operational leadership, and space for strategic focus.
- Deputise for the Director of People & Operations in people-related matters, as required and appropriate, including representing the People function in internal and external forums.
- Ensure the People function operates with professionalism, consistency, and strong internal credibility.

Essential experience:
- Experience operating at a senior level within a People/HR function, with experience of/or readiness to lead at the Head level.
- Experience owning and overseeing the delivery of the full employee lifecycle.
- Experience leading performance management, pay and reward, and employee relations.
- Experience building and embedding people policies, frameworks, and systems.

- Experience working in international or multi-country organisations.

We're recruiting a New Partnerships Manager to be responsible for proactively identifying, prospecting, and cultivating leads in key sectors to secure new 5-6 figure, multi-year corporate partnerships with local and national businesses.
What does this role do?
As New Partnerships Manager, you'll:
- develop a prospect pipeline to raise a personal income target which contributes to an overall team target,
- support the Senior New Partnerships Manager in the identification and cultivation of new corporate partnerships, accessing a range of income streams and budget holders,
- support senior team members in attending meetings with potential corporate partners, including preparing relevant briefs in advance,
- prepare relevant and creative applications and proposals for pitches for potential corporate partners,
