Battersea has recently approved a new 5-year organisational strategy to deliver an even greater impact for dogs and cats through our Prevent, Support and Care activity. To support the delivery of the new strategy and its respective programme of works, we are now seeking a new role of Head of Project and Strategic Planning to play a central role in shaping how we deliver our priorities across the organisation, supporting the leadership team, directors and strategic project leads in the delivery of our objectives, and ensuring there is effective management and oversight of projects and programmes which facilitates sound decision making and governance principles.

To support a significant CRM implementation programme, the programme has incorporated some formal governance structures and processes to support effective change management and decision making. We are now looking to embed and expand on those and ensure we have fit for purpose mechanisms for overseeing all key activity across the charity.

This role will therefore be responsible for developing, embedding, and leading a fit for purpose and effective Project Management Office (PMO), shaping delivery practices, building project management capability, and improve organisational alignment and performance in a way that supports dynamic cross-organisational decision making and innovation. As this is a new position, and will result in changes to our ways of working, the Head of Project and Strategic Planning will also be required to play a leading role in supporting and enabling organisational change, ensuring there is a clear understanding of change impacts associated with projects and programmes, strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills are applied, and clear transparent communication of the roadmap, including risks and benefits, is shared to bring people on the journey and enable us to embed best practice methodology.

The Role

What will I be doing?

• Create a powerful alliance of Corporate Partners to influence science strategies and investment in areas such as advanced sensing, photonics, quantum technologies, semiconductors, renewable energy, autonomous systems and medtech
• Secure long-term relationships by delivering impactful services that meet partners’ needs: working with cross-organisation teams to drive take up of IOP membership, professional registrations, thought leadership articles and access to publishing content
• Manage risks and ensure financial sustainability of the Corporate Partners Alliance

Projects you work on may include:

• Deliver annual series of leadership visits to Corporate Partners organisations to explore interests and common priorities around skills, R&D, infrastructure and business support
• Manage and deliver science insights and advocacy activities with Corporate Partners, via high-level meetings with senior stakeholders in government, industry, finance and academia
• Facilitate ideation workshops, prepare briefings and produce reports to develop new insights and seed new activities to support IOP and partner priorities

Who will I work with?

• Executive Directors and Chief Technology Officers in large R&D intensive businesses
• IOP leadership and cross-organisational teams including our publishing company
• Closely with IOP Associate Director for Science, Business and Data Insights

You are likely to have the following experience

• Credibility in building corporate partnerships with c-suite and senior leaders in R&D intensive, large businesses
• Knowledge of working at the interface of government policy, business and academia regarding science, technology and innovation
• Experience of implementing projects that involve managing senior stakeholders and decision makers in business and securing income targets

#Fundraising 

Royal Star & Garter are a charity that provides loving, compassionate care and support to veterans and their families, both in our Homes and through services that reach into the wider community. Following our recent merger with the Armed Forces charity Care for Veterans in Worthing, we’re looking for a skilled and motivated Fundraising Assistant.

We are looking for someone committed to making a difference to our work and interested in developing a career in fundraising. We welcome experience gained outside the charity sector and are committed to supporting learning and development in this role.

This person must be passionate about delivering high levels of personalised care to a range of donors and have the ability to communicate effectively, while maintaining attention to detail to ensure the smooth delivery of the processes behind donor engagement. You must also be flexible and confident in providing wider support across the fundraising teams within the Royal Star & Garter group.

This is a hybrid role, with two days a week at our Worthing Home to build strong relationships and gain a deeper understanding of our work. There may also be occasional visits to outside events and to Royal Star & Garter’s other Homes as needed.

Purpose of the role

1. To provide excellent customer care to all donors, delivering optimum supporter journeys working effectively with the wider team within the Royal Star & Garter (RSG) group 
2. To manage all associated fundraising payment processes and procedures and work effectively with finance to manage safe and effective banking and reconciliations
3. To provide fundraising support across the department and locations of our services in respect of a range of activities including fundraising events
4. To support the High Value Events & Corporate Manager in time bound projects as and when necessary

Supporter care

• To be proactive in enabling the supporter journey with timely communications (phone, email and letters) and clear stewardship with both existing and new donors
• Ensure effective frontline support and response for donors across a range of incoming systems
• Ensure donation processes and procedures are adhered to and executed in a timely manner, in accordance with guidelines – updating those wherever required with approval by the RSG Fundraising Officer.

 Donations and data entry

• Ensure that the fundraising CRM database is up to date and that supporters contact and financial data is accurate, including creating new records
• Complete weekly banking and allocation tasks in accordance with the approved process, liaising with the finance department to ensure that all batched income is allocated correctly
• Data inputting on the CRM to include: regular giving, importing income from external agencies including CAF and Just Giving, processing Gift Aid and accurately storing declarations
• Filing and management of paperwork, ensuring due diligence and security measures are followed.

Fundraising & volunteer support

• To provide active support to a range of events including: managing participants, sending information, monitoring online giving pages and on the day set up and pack down
• To directly source donated items and contributors to support fundraising events including raffle/auction prizes and coordinating suppliers, stallholders and entertainers 
• Coordinate and communicate with volunteers for events and corporate volunteering days and activities, ensuring they are briefed and supported
• To support any regular mailings or email contact to supporters, assisting with the cleaning and compliance of data once an agreed annual schedule is in place regular.

Other

• To manage all aspects of incoming fundraising post and dedicated inboxes along with outgoing mailings
• Ensure general department are kept up to date including attendance at meetings within RSG group wherever possible
• To be conversant with relevant fundraising legislation and the guidelines of the Fundraising Regulator and the GDPR
• To undertake other duties as may be required and which are consistent with the nature of the role.
   

Knowledge and experience:

• Experience of working in a customer focused environment, preferably within fundraising
• Good working knowledge of CRM database
• Experience of banking processes and consistent financial reconciliation 
• Ability to manage a busy workload meeting deadlines
• Experience of working on own initiative and as part of a team

As Philanthropy Officer, you will support both the Head of Philanthropy and Director of Development in their work with individual donors, including undertaking prospect research, writing briefings and compelling reports, coordinating meetings and donor visits, and maintaining accurate donor records.

The role sits in the Philanthropy team of the Development Department and is managed by the Head of Philanthropy. You will work closely with colleagues across both the Development Department and the wider organisation.

Main duties

New Business

• Undertake prospect research across the spectrum of philanthropic income in collaboration with the Head of Philanthropy - including identification, due diligence, qualification, and creating briefings and outreach plans
• Work with the Head of Philanthropy to identify and cultivate a prospect pool of potential donors, looking at lapsed supporters, current low-level donors, stakeholder network mapping through the Board and Trustees, as well as philanthropists with an active interest in education/social mobility
• Work with the Head of Philanthropy and other colleagues to implement, promote, and maintain a low-level online giving campaign, including transition of our online giving capabilities to the Trust's website, and automated stewardship activation
• Support the Head of Philanthropy to lead the Sutton Trust's approach to alumni fundraising - working collaboratively with the Alumni team in the Programmes directorate to develop and deliver a compelling alumni fundraising campaign
• Support the Head of Philanthropy to devise and implement a compelling legacy campaign, driving sustainable future philanthropic income

Stewardship and Cultivation

• Manage the Trust's online fundraising platforms, such as JustGiving and CAF, to enable smooth processes and a high-quality experience for donors, ensuring new and existing donors are appropriately thanked and have inclination to support in the future
• Be responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of mid-level donors, providing excellent relationship management from cultivation to stewardship
• Be responsible for elements of the planning and delivery of meaningful engagement events for supporters of the Trust, supported by and working with the Head of Philanthropy and relevant colleagues
• Support the Director of Development and Head of Philanthropy to provide high-quality stewardship and management of the Development Board and Fellows

• Respond to queries from prospective and current donors in a warm, professional and timely manner, delivering high-quality stewardship and upholding the reputation of the Trust
• Support the Director of Development and Heads in the Development team to manage logistics of their roles - including support for booking meetings and travel, submitting expenses, and creating briefings
• Act as an ambassador for the Trust with external audiences, delivering presentations and providing expertise as required
• Work with colleagues to deliver impactful events to cultivate prospects and steward partners, with a focus on experience for individual supporters and prospects
• Work with colleagues across Development and Finance to ensure accurate forecasting, income tracking, and reporting for philanthropic income

This new role will focus on driving business development and fundraising opportunities, and ensuring robust contract administration across METRO's HIV services. Reporting to the Head of HIV or Director of Services, the Senior Manager (HIV Services): Business Development and Team Coordination plays a vital role in strengthening the sustainability and effectiveness of METRO's HIV services.

The post holder will support the development of funding proposals and bids, build and maintain relationships with funders, commissioners, and partners, and contribute to fundraising activity to secure the future of HIV services. METRO runs various HIV prevention and support services across London and the Southeast. These services include pan London and local HIV prevention services, HIV support services including advice and advocacy and family support, HIV peer mentoring and counselling services. Many of these services are delivered in partnership with agencies such as the GMIPartnership consisting of Spectra, Positive East, and our collaborations with THT, Positively UK and Africa Advocacy Foundation. Our services are also embedded in other sexual health partnerships, such as the SASH programme, which consists of our partnerships with Turning Point, London Friend and Naz. We also work with several NHS Trusts as part of our work with the London HIV Fast Track Cities programme and wider programmes.
