Purpose of the job:
This key role in our fundraising team will be integral in helping the team meet our ambitious targets. Working predominantly on Trusts and Foundations applications, leading the development and submission of high-quality proposals, with opportunities to work across additional income streams. The postholder will be responsible for securing grants, developing relationships, providing excellent stewardship to funders, and working collaboratively with colleagues.
Key responsibilities include:

We are seeking a Psychometrician for two days per week to lead psychometric analyses and interpret the examination results of the Royal College of Pathologists.
The College is responsible for the delivery of pathology examinations for doctors, scientists, oral pathologists (dentists) and veterinary pathologists in 17 specialties – the Fellowship examinations of the Royal College of Pathologists (FRCPath). The FRCPath Part 1 is held online and is a test of knowledge while FRCPath Part 2 is held in person around the UK as well as in the Republic of Ireland and, for histopathology, in international centres such as Dubai and Egypt. The College is regulated by the General Medical Council for the medical examinations and the General Dental Council for the Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology examinations, but the examinations are open to all appropriately qualified candidates.
The FRCPath examinations are held twice a year in Spring and Autumn and attracts approximately 1,200 candidates per session across the specialties. While some examinations attract up to 200 candidates, some examinations consistently attract very small numbers of candidates, with a number of examination cohorts sitting somewhere in between. The Psychometrician will advise on the appropriate data collection methods for the examinations and undertake psychometric analyses of appropriate examination data for each examination session and will, in time, be asked to provide analysis of longitudinal data.
As the College continues to develop its examinations, the Psychometrician will possess sufficient expertise to provide advice on the appropriate psychometric tests to undertake for the specialty examinations as different formats or methods of delivery are considered.
The examinations are delivered by an examinations team in the College which sits within the Learning Directorate. Each specialty examination is supported by an appropriately qualified panel, led by a Panel Chair, all of whom are overseen by the Clinical Director of Examinations (a pathologist). The Psychometrician will be expected to communicate with a wide range of individuals regarding the College examinations, with varying levels of knowledge about psychometrics, and will provide training for examiners and staff on a regular basis.
The College is a professional membership organisation dedicated to the advancement of the science and practice of pathology. There are currently approximately 12,000 members, all of whom are pathologists based in hospitals, universities and laboratories in the UK and overseas. The College’s main tasks are to set and maintain training standards for doctors and scientists, to advice on the appointment of consultant pathologists, to ensure the membership is kept up to date with current practice through the continuing professional development scheme, and to promote the latest developments in pathology by holding scientific meetings.

Who: We are looking for an experienced, self-starting Finance Manager for the Central Foundation Schools of London, a charity supporting two state schools in London, with investments and endowments in the region of £40m.
Responsibilities: The Finance Manager will be responsible through the CEO to the Board, for day-to-day management of the charity’s accounts and all financial operations. They will manage the financial record keeping, payroll, pensions, banking and oversee the tracking of Foundation’s investments and income. The postholder will provide accurate financial management information, including quarterly cashflow forecasting and management accounts and co-ordinating the annual budget setting process. They will be responsible for preparing the annual accounts to the required standards and overseeing the annual audit process. They will also provide advice on a range of operational issues to ensure sound asset management, value for money and compliance with statutory requirements relevant to the charity’s financial operations. Our Work: For over 150 years, the Central Foundation Schools of London has supported two schools in inner London. Our People: We are a small team with three part time staff managing the day to day work of the Foundation. We are an agile social enterprise looking for a qualified Finance Manager to manage and operate our existing finance function. Working flexibly from home, you will perform a core role in our small, friendly virtual team helping to maintain financial stability and control as we focus on our mission to deliver successful projects across a range of settings globally. You will report to the Strategy Director. The role is advertised at 15 hours per week and the preference would be for these hours to be worked over 3 days, however this can be flexed in line with the cyclical nature of some of the finance activities, particularly during quarter end.
This role has management & operational responsibility for all finance processes including budgeting, cashflow, VAT, Payroll, and overall management of our bank accounts and treasury. The Finance Manager will also manage the relationship and coordinate with our outsourced financial service providers.
PCI offers 25 days annual leave (pro rated for part time employees) plus the usual 8 bank holidays; time off in lieu; 5% company contributions to the NEST pension scheme; discounted shopping voucher scheme through Rewards Gateway.
Purpose of the role
- Managing working relationship with outsourced bookkeepers.
- Invoicing, expenses and treasury
- Main contract for bank accounts
- Payroll
- Budgeting, reforecasting, cashflow, ad hoc financial reporting
- Support work for annual statutory accounts & corporation tax return & VAT returns
Person criteria
Essential
- Demonstrated finance qualification, ideally ACA/CA or ACCA. Undergrad degree in Accounting with considerable relevant experience will also be considered.
- Strong experience in all aspects of financial management, accounting and tax.
- Natural aptitude for financial control & ability to identify areas of process risk.
- Strong Excel skills.
- Good communicator with ability to write clear instructions & summarise key messages for non-finance colleagues.
- Ability to advise & recommend logical actions to senior managers/directors.
- Ability to multi-task and juggle competing priorities, remaining calm under pressure, whilst monitoring wider environment for related impact.
- Proactive and takes own initiative; comfortable making decisions & taking responsibility
- Access to appropriate connectivity & workspace which is conducive to productive home working
- Efficient, organised, accurate & thorough record-keeper, with keen attention to detail
- Experience working as part of a virtual/remote team.
Preferred
- Experience using Xero or similar accounting package.
- Experience working in a small business environment.
- Experience working in the social enterprise/non-profit sector.
- Commercial acumen
- Familiarity with Dropbox
- General good aptitude for IT and able to resolve basic issues yourself.
- Ability to work flexibly, including occasional evenings and weekends, especially during peak finance cycles

About the Role
The CEO will provide leadership to Embracing Age and to be responsible for the management and administration of the charity, in partnership with and reporting to the trustees. You'll lead, inspire and motivate staff and volunteers, whilst upholding and developing the Christian ethos, vision, mission and values of Embracing Age, along with the strategic objectives and priorities.

You’ll be a strategic, passionate person with a big heart for the older generations and a desire to mobilise churches and communities in coming alongside them. You’ll be a friendly, confident individual with good communication and organisational skills who is looking for a part time flexible role.

Role Overview:
As the People Business Partner, you’ll report to the Director of People, Finance, and Governance. You will lead on setting up and delivering a value-added people centric business partnering service.
