Are you passionate about the power of communities to make real change happen through fundraising?
Working for a leading cancer charity as their brand-new Regional Fundraiser, you'll help schools, community groups, individual volunteers and local businesses to fund world-class research. Through award-winning, high-impact campaigns, you'll challenge the cause, improve the care and find the cure for cancer.
Salary: £29-34k (able to appoint across the band)
Contract: Permanent, either full time, part-time or reduced hours
Location: Homebased, with regular travel across your local patch (and team meetings held in Liverpool) To cover North Manchester and Lancashire
Benefits: 25 days (+ bank and Christmas closure), 5% employer pension contribution
Culture: Flexible, supportive, able to work with autonomy
About the charity
Living in the North West, we're 25% more likely to be diagnosed with cancer than elsewhere in the UK and many cancers are much more common across the region. The region also suffers from extreme social-deprivation and health inequalities which, when combined, lead to a lower-than-average life-expectancy and poorer quality of life for our communities.
Community fundraising is an important vehicle to challenge this - by raising money and awareness.
This role will cover North Manchester up to Lancashire - you'll be homebased with travel across the patch to meet supporters.
What will I be fundraising for?
Recent fundable projects include a groundbreaking annual Regional Report on cancer and the innovative Lab-Coat Learning education programme for the region's schools.
You'll act as the face of the charity out in the community, spreading the word about how fundraising can drive positive change. You'll develop relationships with volunteer fundraisers, community groups and local businesses, encouraging and motivating them to fundraise.
You'll deliver interactive presentations, activities and outreach sessions at schools and volunteer groups, offering support, advice and guidance on how people can supercharge their fundraising.
About you
You join a passionate and well-established fundraising team, who genuinely care about and support one another.
Key attributes we're looking for in our new Regional Fundraiser:
- Experience working in a face-to-face role, either fundraising, sales, account or volunteer management.
- Engaging presentation skills, able to inspire people to take action.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- A self-motivated individual, capable of working independently and as part of a team.
- Target-driven, comfortable and confident working with achievable KPIs and targets.
- A team player, someone who brings the best out in other people.
- Flexibility to attend fundraising events, including some evenings and weekends.
- Ability to travel independently across the North Manchester and Lancashire.
If you're driven by making a difference in the fight against cancer, then step forward: we'd absolutely love to hear from you.

We're looking for a new Chief Executive: a compassionate and visionary leader who values lived experience. It's a balancing act between honouring the organisation's deep foundations, whilst welcoming new and innovative ways of working.
Mary Seacole House is a small, but mighty charity that punches above its weight. Rooted in people, place and community, the organisation has a proud 30-year history serving the city's Black, Asian, racially minoritised and refugee communities with a clear mission: to tackle mental health inequalities through a culturally responsive lens. They serve people too often overlooked by traditional mental health services, offering a safe space and a strong voice.
Why this role matters
The need for culturally appropriate mental health support has never been more pressing. Against a backdrop of systemic inequality, social injustice and rising mental health challenges, Mary Seacole House offers a lifeline to hundreds of individuals each year.
Services range from 1-1 support and advocacy to wellbeing activities, outreach, and collaborative projects across the region. Respected and trusted because they listen and learn, the organisation prides itself on partnerships and creating spaces where people feel genuinely seen and understood.
About you
As Chief Executive, you'll help shape the future of Mary Seacole House - driving strategic ambition, empowering the team, and ensuring services continue to create lasting impact. This is more than a CEO job - it's a platform for someone who wants to shift the dial on mental health inequality.
We're looking for someone who is:
- A natural collaborator and communicator, confident presenting to diverse audiences, from local communities to commissioners and funders.
- A values-driven leader, with a deep understanding of the lived experience of racially minoritised communities.
- Skilled in strategic planning, service development and partnership building, with credibility to influence decision-makers and inspire teams.
- Aware of income generation, capable of fundraising, developing partnerships and ensuring financial sustainability.
- Passionate about equity, inclusion and culturally responsive care, with a proven commitment to antiracism and the resilience to lead through change and complexity.
We're open-minded about your background - whether you come from the charity sector, health, social care or beyond. What matters most is a demonstrable commitment to the core mission and your ability to lead with humility, integrity and vision.
We welcome candidates from all backgrounds to apply for this role.
Mary Seacole House values the power of lived experience to inform, shape and drive change. We encourage those without lived experience of racialisation or racial/ethnic oppression to spend time reflecting on how you would lead authentically and advocate effectively. If you choose to apply, you'll be given the opportunity to address this in your application.
Why join us?
At Mary Seacole House, you'll be part of something powerful, leading a dedicated and diverse team who are deeply connected and committed to their work. Together, you'll help shape services, influence change, and make a meaningful difference.
We're passionate about developing potential leaders, especially those who come from typically underrepresented backgrounds. As such, we are working to develop a programme of coaching, mentoring and training to upskill a new leader who may not have been in a CEO role before.
To apply, all you need to do is send a copy of your CV or brief overview of your career/profile to Amelia Lee at Charity People as the first step.
We'll be back in touch with details on the application process, providing your experience meets the brief.
Closing date: 9am on Thursday 8th May
Interviews dates will be confirmed soon.

Who are Guts UK Charity?
Guts UK Charity is committed to a world where digestive conditions are better understood, better treated and everyone who lives with one gets the support they need. Too many people are suffering or dying in silence or alone. They don’t know where to turn for information or support, diagnosis takes too long for many, and treatment can often come too late.
We are the only UK charity funding research into the digestive system. We raise vital awareness of digestive conditions, fund life-saving research, and provide patients and loved ones with expert information and support – we are informed by evidence and expertise, our community, and the patient voice.
Our mission is simple: to improve the lives of millions of people affected by digestive conditions
The role of Helpline Advisor
For several years, Guts UK have provided information, support and guidance to our community over the phone and by email. This year, we’re formalising that service into a professional Helpline and are looking for someone to join our small, talented support team.
During the initial 6-month trial period, the Helpline phone lines will be open Monday to Friday, 10am to 2pm, but this may expand or change later in the year. Queries could be received via phone, email or web-query form.
As a member of the Helpline team, you will offer on demand information, support, guidance and signposting primarily to enquirers living with, or caring for those with, digestive conditions and symptoms. The support offered will include receiving calls, emails and web form queries from people who are looking for more information about their digestive condition, need to know where they can turn to for support, or are waiting on a diagnosis and need help navigating how to get there. You will provide appropriate information, guidance and signposting to our own information and other external support organisations. As a charity, Guts UK covers all digestive symptoms and conditions, across the whole of the UK, and so no two days will be the same and queries will be diverse and interesting.
The role holder will man the Helpline (alongside others from the team) from 10am to 2pm (with a 30-minute lunch break) and during that time will receive, respond to and appropriately log phone calls, web-queries and emails.
Who we’re looking for?
· Do you want to make a difference every day?
· Do you have resilience & adaptability and thrive in a small, close knit team?
· Are you passionate about customer service and care?
· Do you want to empower people to understand and improve their own health management?
Ideally, we are looking for someone who has already spent time working on a helpline service (even better if it’s a charity helpline service) but we will consider applications from candidates if they have demonstrable customer service, and telephone experience.
Location
The Helpline team have a secure office space in our Huddersfield based office in which they can handle confidential calls and information. This is supported by hybrid working, with team members able to work from home as well.
Please see the attached detail job pack for further information and how to apply.
