Do you have the interest, expertise, time and enthusiasm to devote to conserving the wild fish of the River Tweed and its catchment? If so, we would like to hear from you.

We are a Scottish registered Charity, established in 1983, which supports the fish of the Tweed in every way possible. The bulk of our work is scientific, but it extends to education, advocacy and the promotion of angling amongst young people. We aim to engage and involve everybody from local schoolchildren to international bodies in the importance of aquatic ecosystems, the value of healthy rivers and their flora and fauna, and the economic and social benefits of sustainable river management. Our science is essential to this work and to the understanding and protection of the water environments that fish depend on.

The Tweed is one of the world’s great Salmon rivers. Its iconic species, the Atlantic Salmon, our greatest concern, is now an endangered species (and defined as such by the IUCN), and the entire ecosystem is under increasing threat from global warming and other, catchment wide, pressures. We are looking for new trustees to strengthen our board and increase our impact. We are especially looking for the following skills and experience:

• Environmental and ecological management
• Monitoring and conservation of freshwater fish and aquatic environments
• Advocacy, Communications and PR
• Science and Education
• Fundraising and income generation

Are you skilled in any of these areas? The Board of Trustees meet 6 times a year, generally at our office near Melrose in the Scottish Borders, though online attendance is possible. We have additional meetings as required and Trustees are encouraged to get involved with our work and support events up and down the river.

EQUAL AQUA is an award-winning NGO providing equal access to water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) in Uganda. Equal Aqua is managed by an international team of volunteers, based mainly in the UK and Uganda. Our mission is to tackle inequalities in access to WASH by providing safe and sustainable WASH facilities and services to those that need it most.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR: We are recruiting a new Communications Manager in order to build awareness around WASH inequality, grow EAU's presence and income generation, and ultimately enable us to reach more communities and transform more lives.

• Lead the development, delivery and evaluation of an external and internal communications strategy to drive the strategy, vision and values of EAU;
• Oversee public communications channels, including social media and websites, working closely with the fundraising and programmes team to improve communication between stakeholders;
• Lead EAU's monthly newelstter to key stakeholders
• Oversee production of EAU’s Annual Report, raising awareness of WASH inequality and generating income for EAU.
• Build and maintain relationships with key partners and important contacts;

ABOUT: ‘Equal Aqua’ is a registered Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) in the UK; it operates equally and in unison with ‘Equal Aqua Uganda’, a registered Community Based Organisation (CBO) in Uganda (‘EAU’ refers to both).

We’re looking for a new fundraising volunteer and/or director! Are you passionate about securing funds for grassroot organisations?

This opportunity involves overseeing Fuel Poverty Action’s fundraising plans and strategy, reaching out to donors and promoting our vital campaigns through grant bids to help end fuel poverty in the UK. 

This role would require an average of 16-20 hrs per month and can be done remotely. We are also open to you joining FPA’s board of directors, subject to capacity and experience. 

This offers a chance to directly contribute to tackling fuel poverty and ensuring access to affordable energy for all whilst strategizing and learning alongside great activists. If you're eager to contribute, we’d love to hear from you!

Tasks:

• Organise and manage our fundraising planning and pipeline

• Reach out to potential donors and help build relationships

• Lead on grant applications

• Work closely with the team to develop new fundraising strategies

• Contribute ideas and experience to FPA campaigns
