Hours: 37 hours per week

Salary: NJC 41 – 49 (£44,863 - £53,050)

Contract: Permanent

Leave: 25 days annual leave per annum, plus Bank Holidays, rising to 30 days plus Bank Holidays after 5 years continuous service

Pension: 5% contribution to pension by Wycombe Women’s Aid

Requirements: This post will be subject to references and an enhanced DBS check (paid for by the organisation) and open to women only.  Genuine Occupational Requirement (GOR), Schedule 9 (Work; Exceptions), Part 1 (Occupational Requirements) of the Equality Act 2010 applies.

About the Organisation
Wycombe Women’s Aid (WWA) is a well-established and well-respected charity which exists to provide independent, high-quality specialist services to women and children experiencing the effects of domestic violence.  Our vision is of a world where women and children live their lives free from domestic and sexual violence.  We are a women-only organisation, working from a feminist perspective and committed to empowerment and self-help.  We listen to women and children and believe in women’s power to take back control of their lives.

About the Service

The services offered by Wycombe Women’s Aid are broad and designed to support with all the challenges surrounding and caused by domestic violence.  By offering both practical and emotional support, women and their children are provided with the tools needed to empower them to make their own decisions and ultimately achieve their own goals.  The support offered can be immediate in the form of refuge facilities or take a longer view through counselling and advocacy.  Wycombe Women’s Aid also has the capacity to support young people via a Youth Worker project meaning that the effects of WWA have reaching and long-term impacts for families.

About the Role

We are seeking a strategic, forward-thinking CEO to join the charity and lead a committed and passionate team.  The successful applicant will ensure the charity fulfils its vision, strategy and values and delivers high quality services to women and children experiencing the effects of domestic violence.  The CEO will take a holistic view of how to continue to offer the best level of services in an ever changing financial and political environment.  Working alongside the internal Leadership Team and the Board of Trustees, the CEO will identify ways to maintain and improve services and therefore the outcomes of those using the charity’s services.

About You

You will have a strong desire to make a difference within the domestic violence sector and a commitment to working from the trauma informed, feminist perspective, which underpins all our work.  You will have led an experienced team of people who are specialists in their field and provided them with the support and vision they need to strive for excellent outcomes for clients.

Your expertise will mean that you are well versed in working within organisations that have a focus on long term financial sustainability and you will be adept at working to high levels of governance.  You will have a strong awareness of risk management and will be comfortable being the face of the organisation as it strives to raise awareness of its work.  You will also actively seek out ways to leverage the support available from the Board of Trustees to further improve services.

We particularly welcome applicants from Black and minoritised women as these are currently under-represented within our staff team.
