Save the Children UK has an exciting opportunity for a strategic and relationship focused individual with extensive communication and project management experience to join us as our Participation and Partnerships Manager where you will work within the Wales team to incorporate the voices of the community to help influence change.

Please note: this role is based in based Wales and will require a level of knowledge of this area.

This is a permanent role. There is also a 12 month Fixed Term Contract Participation and Partnerships Manager role, if you are interested.

About the role

As Participation and Partnerships Manager, you'll lead our work to centre the voices and experiences of children and young people in everything we do. You'll manage relationships with community partners, coordinate participation opportunities, and help shape national and local policy to tackle child poverty in Wales.

This is a unique opportunity to work directly with children, young people, and families, building platforms for them to share their experiences and co-create solutions. You'll also work cross-functionally with media, advocacy, and policy colleagues to ensure participation is embedded in our campaigns and influencing efforts.

In this role, you will: 

• Lead participation and engagement with children and young people across our key outcome areas: money, services, and power.

• Develop and manage strategic partnerships with community groups and organisations, ensuring alignment with national objectives.

• Coordinate co-design processes, events, and campaigns that empower children and families to influence change.

• Ensure safeguarding and ethical standards are upheld in all participation activities.

• Support advocacy and media work by producing compelling stories, resources, and case studies.

• Champion inclusion, applying anti-racist and intersectional principles across all work.

• Contribute to fundraising and donor engagement by demonstrating the impact of our work.

- Engaging with the community to drive repeat custom, stock donation, volunteer recruitment and community involvement.
- Supporting the Retail Manager in recruiting and managing volunteers and ensuring all staff and volunteers are following Marie Curie procedures and guidelines.
- In the absence of the Retail Manager, taking responsibility for the overall management and operation of the store.

Key Criteria:
- Previous retail experience, preferably in fashion/clothing.
- Experience of cash handling and financial management procedures (including completion of sales records).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a customer-first attitude and the ability to communicate with tact and discretion,
- Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload, balancing competing demands.
- Understanding of health and safety procedures in a retail environment.

We are seeking an experienced, driven and passionate Head of Public Fundraising to lead the mass fundraising team to achieve sustainable income growth over the coming years. We are looking for someone with energy and ambition, who can demonstrate strategic leadership to maximise fundraising opportunities across Community, Challenge Events, Regular Giving, Legacy and In Memory audiences, to grow our supporter networks and optimise supporter engagement and experience. Leukaemia UK and You 

We have recently invested in growing our fundraising team so that we can fund more life-changing research to increase our understanding of leukemia as a disease, and accelerate the development of kinder, more effective treatments. This includes investment to grow the public fundraising team, develop new fundraising products, recruit new supporters, and increase legacy giving through targeted campaigns. 

We are also in the process of developing our new 5-year fundraising strategy, so you will be instrumental in creating an ambitious new plan to develop a diverse and sustainable mass fundraising portfolio, covering the key areas of donor acquisition, retention, and growth, with a focus on maximising our Challenge and Community events portfolio, and increasing Legacy, In Memory and Regular giving.  You will be responsible for developing and delivering a portfolio of products to grow voluntary income, whilst leading a newly expanded and ambitious team. And you will help shape our data strategy, working with the Head of Digital and other colleagues across the organisation to develop our digital fundraising strategy; embed usage of our CRM and ensure GDPR compliance. 

You will be results-driven with an appetite to innovate and drive continuous improvement, leading to increased conversions, deepened relationships, and long-term support.

Requirements - Skills and Experience

• Demonstrable experience of strategic leadership and oversight of a mass fundraising product portfolio.
• Proven experience of managing an engaging Community and Challenge Events fundraising portfolio.
• Proven experience of driving Legacy and In Memory giving to create a robust long-term pipeline. Experience of successfully developing and implementing legacy marketing strategies.
• Proven experience of applying the principles and techniques of Individual Giving / Direct Marketing within a multichannel, multi-discipline environment to deliver significant returns and supporter satisfaction, especially through supporter recruitment channels. 
• Experience of fully integrating a CRM database as a tool in the day-to-day work and running of a charity. 
• Demonstrable experience of managing a high performing team, focussing on creating a culture where people thrive as individuals and can be their best selves.
• Experience of managing multi-channel media campaigns by utilising print and digital channels including social media and email.
• Good experience of building effective relationships with internal and external partners, including creative freelancers, media and direct marketing agencies.
• Experience of working with, negotiating with, and managing outputs of external agencies and internal departments, including contractual obligations.
• Strong project-management experience, including managing budgets, schedules, creative development, and supplier relationships for fundraising direct marketing campaigns.
• Experience of setting and managing annual budgets, monitoring, and reconciling results and financial performance in income and expenditure. Providing associated narratives and monthly reforecasts.
• Proven experience of driving effective stewardship programmes to maximising supporter experience.

Requirements - Knowledge

• Excellent specialist knowledge of the principals and methods of Public Fundraising, including Challenge Events, Community, Legacy, In Memory and Individual Giving.
• Understanding of the effective development and use of supporter contact strategies, turning analysis and insight into high performance activity.
• Up-to-date knowledge of current digital fundraising trends, including social media marketing.
• High Level knowledge of Salesforce CRM databases and how best to utilise to steward supporters.
• Knowledge and experience of marketing processes and techniques across varied channels.
• High Level knowledge of legacy administration. 
• High Level knowledge and understanding of charity law in relation to legacy fundraising, GDPR, PECR, data protection and other relevant fundraising regulation.

Role specifics & Benefits       

• Hours: Full time hours are 37.5 Monday to Friday
• Location: We are very flexible! Our hybrid working policy is a minimum of two days per month in our London office unless it’s a role requirement to be in more frequently. Typically, we would expect the role holder to be in the office once a week, and certain roles within the team have this as a minimum requirement.

We are looking for a special person to undertake an exciting new role within our passionate team of people dedicated to transforming the lives of animals in need. 

You will be responsible for the successful expansion of our existing income streams in line with our fundraising strategy and nurturing successful, long-term relationships with our supporters, donors and key stakeholders. 

Key to the success of the role will be the ability to identify development opportunities for our individual giving, legacy giving, grant funding and corporate donor programs as well as opportunities for special appeals to maximise our exposure throughout our whole catchment area. 

The role will work closely with other members of the established team to utilise the potential of our Community Fundraising Volunteers and Content Creator Volunteers identifying opportunities for them to maximise their contribution to the Branch’s activities and ensuring their efforts are recognised appropriately. 

Your existing communication skills will be put to good use acting as an ambassador for the charity, representing us at key events as well as reporting performance to the Board of Trustees. 

This role is pivotal to ensuring the successful operation of the charity into the future and provides a chance to make a real and lasting difference to the lives of animals in need. There is potential to develop the role and shape the future direction of our fundraising activities.

Based at our newly rebuilt animal centre in Chesterfield but with scope also for hybrid working, you will have the opportunity to see our animal rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming work in day-to-day action.

We describe peer support as when people with shared experiences connect to build safe, trusting and non-judgemental relationships through which they learn and grow together. About This Role

 Darlington Mind are really pleased to be recruiting a Peer Support Worker to a new role within our adult recovery-focused services in Darlington as part of the Tees Valley peer support service.  

The role is part of Community Transformation work in the Tees Valley and will be part of an exciting new collaborative service in partnership with Teesside Mind (with similar roles) and with TEWV NHS Foundation Trust who will have peer workers in their Community Mental Health Teams.

Community Transformation is part of the NHS Long Term Plan and represents a shift in the way we deliver care. It considers the whole person, beyond their diagnosis, and what the whole system has to offer, including primary care, local authority, voluntary care sector, alongside families and friends. We are working together to ensure we collectively deliver trauma-informed, person-centred care to meet an individual’s wide-ranging needs.

Role Purpose

 You will work with individuals who have accessed adult day services within Darlington Mind and you will be an integrated and valued member of the wider team.

Drawing on your own experience of mental health problems, you will ‘walk alongside’ others on their journey and will inspire hope and belief that recovery is possible.

You will listen non-judgementally to create safe spaces where people feel heard and approach the peer relationship with compassion and curiosity. You will recognise and value each person’s strengths, diversity and expertise in themselves. You will be aware of the impacts of trauma and committed to the importance of working in ways which are sensitive to the needs of trauma survivors.

Important parts of this role also include working within the team to help people’s voices be heard and to promote recovery values. You will be supported to challenge both individual and structural instances of stigma and discrimination related to mental health problems and other forms of exclusion.

At the start of the role, you will attend peer support training alongside other new team members from Mind and TEWV. This training is delivered by people with their own lived experience and experience working in peer roles.

 · Provide 1-1 peer support to people accessing the service

· Support service developments in the teams you work in
