We are working in partnership with Veterans Outreach Support (VOS), a well-known, award-winning, UK registered charity that supports those who have served our nation, in the Armed Forces and Merchant Navy, through the provision of welcoming and relaxed settings where UK veterans and family members can access welfare, wellbeing, and mental health support. VOS’s development has taken them well beyond these elements to a wide-ranging, person-centered one-stop shop that provides direct and holistic support.

VOS is now seeking a Head of Operations, who will directly support the Chief Executive by taking responsibility for the day-to-day operations of VOS, working in close cooperation with the Head of Care (Deputy CEO). In addition to managing the Operations Department, as well as overseeing business administration and people issues, the non-clinical, business-related contracts, the post-holder will be responsible for managing regulatory compliance, financial planning (with the VOS Finance Manager), and external relations, with delivery partners and other stakeholders, where they will also have representational duties, acting as lead for CRM implementation Health & Safety, and is the VOS Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead.

Successful candidates must be able to demonstrate the following:

Responsibilities

Recruitment & Onboarding

• Work with managers to refine job descriptions, post roles, and advertise vacancies effectively.

• Manage the Recruitment inbox, responding promptly and professionally to candidate queries.

• Oversee the Applied platform to facilitate end-to-end recruitment, including application tracking, interview scheduling, and assessment centre coordination.

• Provide comprehensive administrative assistance during onboarding, including preparing offer letters and contracts, conducting reference checks, and creating induction schedules.

• Coordinate equipment setup (e.g. laptops, phones) and access to key systems such as Appogee for new starters.

Offboarding

• Assist managers and employees through the offboarding process to ensure a smooth transition.

• Conduct exit interviews and summarise feedback to facilitate continuous improvement efforts.

• Manage administrative tasks for leavers, including system deactivations, final leave calculations, and equipment returns.

Operations & Systems Management

• Maintain and update employee data. 

• Assist with the planning and administration of staff surveys, including setting up surveys, booking town halls, and coordinating related logistics.

• Assist in event coordination, including booking venues, transportation, and accommodations for key events such as the SSMAs, Team Day, Gala Dinner, Mental Health First Aid Training and staff induction weeks.

• Oversee the movement and tracking of all tech equipment across sites in line with onboarding and offboarding processes.

• Act as the first point of contact for general People & Culture queries, providing consistent and helpful support to all colleagues.

• Ensure employee records are accurately maintained and GDPR compliant.

• Produce HR-related reports covering recruitment, onboarding, offboarding, and employee engagement metrics (with guidance from senior colleagues).

• Work closely with the Senior People & Culture Manager to review and improve internal HR processes, aligning them with organisational goals.

JOB PURPOSE:

• To lead on the development of a healthy childhood programme for children and young people living in Sparkhill.
• To provide a range of activities for children, young people and their families which promote physical exercise and healthy eating.
• To promote the referral uptake from a range of services including the School Nurse Service, Family Hubs and GP practices.
• To monitor individual lifestyle assessments and to maintain an overview of the individual’s journey, including attendance, improvement of their lifestyle indicators etc. and capture case studies.
• Refer participants to health professionals, support providers or other agencies, reviewing the outcome to ensure their needs are met.
• Manage and monitor a caseload in line with the priorities set out in the programme including reviewing the effectiveness of the service.
• Ensure that safeguarding and wellbeing of all children and young people is adhered to.
• To ensure good relationships with parents and carers and professional partners.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Receive and manage referrals including self-referrals.

· Co-design personalised support to children, young people and their families referred onto the programme.

· Plan and deliver a range of physical activities suitable of the needs of children and their family’s including commissioning activities from partner services.

· Arrange and manage triage meetings with participants.

· Ensure all participants are registered onto the programme and lifestyle assessments are completed to support The Healthy Childhood Programme monitoring, evaluation and demonstration of impact.

· Provide continuity and co-ordinated support, remaining the point of contact throughout the participant’s journey with the healthy childhood programme.

· Build supportive relationships with participants, providing non-judgemental support, understanding diversity and lifestyle choices.

· Maintain good communication with participants at all times, providing them with clear written information on what has been agreed and the next steps to be taken in their journey.

· Support participants to identify the wider issues that have an impact on their health outcomes and wellbeing.

· Be a friendly source of information about healthy lifestyles and wellbeing.

· Where appropriate, introduce participants to community groups, activities and statutory services. Follow up to ensure they are happy, able to engage, included and receiving good support.

· Ensure all data, monitoring and evaluation is kept up to date and reported back as required.

· Adhere to data protection, confidentiality, information sharing protocols and provide monitoring information as required.

· Feedback on-going development, monitoring and evaluation of the programme highlighting any issues that need resolving.

About Us

The Greater Manchester Women’s Support Alliance (GMWSA) was established in 2016 by seven organisations who provide support services to women across all ten boroughs in Greater Manchester (GM) who may be vulnerable or have unmet support needs.

We came together as the GMWSA in order to ensure that our collective voice is heard by policy makers and commissioners of services. We represent the interests of our beneficiaries and service users, we share good practice and experience and ensure that no service operates in isolation. GMWSA is now formed of nine Member and Associate Member women’s centres having a presence in each of the 10 local authority areas across GM all of whom are collectively funded to deliver support services across GM to women either involved in the Criminal Justice System, or whose vulnerability and marginalisation leaves them at risk of offending, but all also have individual funding streams to ensure their provision reaches every woman in need of support.

Alliance members offer a full range of services to women who need support around issues such as domestic abuse, housing, mental health, substance misuse, education, employment, training, and confidence/self-esteem, all delivered with a trauma responsive approach.

Purpose of the Role 

We are looking for a Chief Executive Officer to join GMWSA to transform the Alliance to meet future challenges around function and funding.

You will shape and implement the strategic direction of the Alliance, ensure the smooth running of the charity, provide leadership to staff, support the Board of Trustees to fulfil its strategic and governance duties and ensure the delivery of grants and contracts.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Strategic Direction

• Provide leadership and direction for the organisation and its staff in line with our vision.
• Clearly articulate and communicate GMWSAs vision, mission and values to staff, partners and others.
• Drive GMWSA’s strategy and business plan while establishing clear targets.
• Lead the development of innovative programs and services that align with GMWSA's mission.
• Ensure awareness of relevant current and changing legislation and good practice.
• Proactively build, maintain and leverage relationships with strategic partners, stakeholders and influencers to shape policy, secure support and ensure GMWSA’s voice is heard in key local and national forums.

Supporting the Board

• Responsibility for working with and advising the Board of Trustees with regard to strategic developments, delivery of grants and contracts, opportunities and challenges.
• Responsibility for working with the Board to develop the relationship with members.
• Support the Board of Trustees to ensure that the organisation is in all aspects legally and financially compliant and operating to best practice.
• Advise and work with the Chair and Board of Trustees in developing its structures.
• Ensure GMWSA has up-to-date policies on safeguarding, data protection and other regulatory requirements and that these are reviewed regularly and adhered to.
• Act as Company Secretary and Safeguarding Lead for the charity, undertaking appropriate training as necessary.
• Develop and maintain a risk management strategy to identify, monitor, and mitigate risks affecting GMWSA, including financial, legal, and reputational risks. 

External Affairs

• Promote and encourage multi-agency partnerships with third sector, statutory bodies and the funding and delivery of projects, following our code of ethics and strategy.
• Ensure effective participation in relevant local and regional networks and foster relationships with community leaders and stakeholders.
• Oversee the development of systems to measure the organisation's impact, ensuring clear, evidence-based reporting of outcomes to funders and stakeholders.
• Lead on using evaluation findings to drive improvements in services, delivery models and organisational strategy.
• Represent the work of GMWSA in publicity and media opportunities, with quotes and interviews, ensuring a consistently good public image and reputation. 

Finances and Fundraising

• Accountable for fundraising from a range of sources to deliver GMWSA’s agreed strategic objectives in the medium term and working towards an increased sustainability in the long term.
• Responsibility for liaising with funders, writing applications and applying for grants from various government funds, trusts and foundations.
• Responsibility for securing corporate partnership.
• Ensure grants are spent appropriately within aims of the charity, the grants’ terms and in accordance with Charity Commissioner regulation.
• Ensure effective grant management processes are in place across member organisation in order to deliver grants and contracts.
• Report to funders in a timely and accurate way.
• Oversee budget management.
• Oversee all financial reporting ensuring it is accurate and done on a timely and regular basis, including the annual accounts/annual report.

People Management

• Provide leadership, direction and motivation for the team of staff, ensuring supervision and appraisals are carried out regularly.

This role offers a unique opportunity to lead the final, critical stages of a full website redevelopment project—ensuring the site is fully optimised, technically sound, and ready for launch in September 2025.

With a solid internal team and external agency support in place, what’s missing is you: a modern digital specialist with real expertise in SEO, UX, project delivery, and CMS platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead website redevelopment delivery - Work closely with the Digital Lead and wider team to get the new website "over the line". The project follows a waterfall approach, and you’ll be instrumental in managing final phases—content, testing, fixes and go-live support.
• UX testing & optimisation - Use tools like Google Lighthouse to monitor and improve page performance and user experience. You’ll drive the site’s performance grade from a current C/D score to an A, ensuring it meets industry standards.
• Hands-on SEO implementation - Deliver a detailed SEO action plan, improve accessibility, fix broken links, optimise metadata, and implement keyword strategies. You must be a true SEO specialist, not just managing agencies but owning the technical and content-related changes yourself.
• Content design & migration - Help reduce and restructure content from 2,500 to 1,500 pages. Support with auditing, rewriting, image updates (resizing in Photoshop), and migrating content in Umbraco. You’ll work closely with a Content Editor and Executive but will be actively involved.
• CMS & digital production - Use Umbraco (or similar CMS) to create, update, and publish content. Manage templates, update journeys, and ensure cross-browser/device consistency.
• Go-live preparation - Conduct page-by-page checks, broken link audits, redirects, SEO finalisation, and cross-device testing—ensuring the website is in peak condition for public release.

Person Specification:

• Strong, hands-on SEO experience—technical and content-based, with clear examples of campaigns you’ve delivered.
• Proficient in Google Lighthouse or similar tools, able to interpret and act on performance metrics.
• Proven experience managing website projects through to launch, ideally in waterfall environments.
• Solid understanding of UX principles, user testing, and digital accessibility.

About the Service

We are seeking a Volunteer & Service User Involvement Administrator to play a vital role in supporting the implementation of our 5-year strategy, which places service user involvement and volunteering at its core. This role is key to ensuring that the voices of service users, volunteers, and women with lived experience of VAWG are actively captured, organised, and integrated into the development of our services, operational activities, and strategic direction.

About the Role

The key responsibilities of the Service User Involvement Administrator are:

• Provide high-quality administrative support to the Volunteer & Service User Involevment Coordinator across all areas of service user and volunteer engagement.
• Support the recruitment, onboarding, and exit processes for volunteers and service user involvement activities, including processing DBS checks, references, and welcome packs.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on volunteer and service user engagement databases and spreadsheets.
• Prepare agenda’s, correspondence, newsletters, and recruitment materials as required.
• Assist in planning and coordinating events, focus groups, training sessions, consultations, and board meetings.
• Manage invitations, bookings, and logistics for internal and external meetings or workshops involving volunteers and service users.
• Take and circulate clear and concise minutes and action points.
• Draft and disseminate regular communications, including newsletters, reminders, surveys and feedback forms.
• Ensure information is accessible and aligned with Solace’s inclusive and psychologically informed frameworks.
• Manage the inbox of service user involvement and volunteer queries and escalate as necessary.
• Ensure all volunteer and service user information is managed confidentially and in line with Data Protection regulations.
• Keep volunteer and service user training, DBS, and participation records up to date.
• Support in monitoring engagement levels and preparing basic reports or summaries on SUI and volunteering.

About You

To be successful in the role of Volunteer & Service User Involvement Administrator you will be motivated, pro-active and supportive, with a strong commitment to person-centred work, volunteering and service user involvement, you will also need to bring with you the following skills and experience:

• Actively engage service users to contribute to the enhancement of service delivery
• Collaborate closely with the Service User Involvement and Volunteering Coordinator to support services in strengthening their approaches to service user involvement and co-production
• Assist the Coordinator in facilitating inclusive and effective volunteering recruitment processes
• Demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to connect with diverse individuals across a range of settings
