As the Community Shop and Online Manager for our flagship store in Mere Green you will lead a team of paid staff and volunteers. You’ll be empowered to make decisions locally whilst working within a supportive framework. You’ll work within and for your local community ensuring that engagement and support is understood and promoted.
You’ll have great commercial skills, an understanding of how online selling works and why customer service is key and want to be part of a successful team. Ideally, you’ll have previous retail management experience, be able to demonstrate strong leadership and have the ability to work with and motivate any team.
Reporting into a Regional Manager you will be responsible for ensuring that your store and the online store runs efficiently and delivers a positive financial contribution to the Hospice. You’ll also have the support of a Retail Regional Supervisor, available to provide encouragement, training and development of best practise.

We are looking for two Development Managers to join our Development team focusing on Individual Giving and Trust and Foundation Fundraising.

The Development Manager (Individual Giving) will manage the strategic development of Individual Giving, identifying opportunities to drive growth in this area. - Proactively manage a personal portfolio of prospects and donors to secure mid- and major-level gifts from Individuals, ensuring that tailored moves management strategies are employed to meaningfully move relationships towards solicitation.
The Development Manager (Trust and Foundations) will manage the strategic development of Trusts and Foundations fundraising, identifying opportunities to drive growth in this area. The post-holder will oversee income generation from grant-making organisations and ensure timely reporting to funders.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate the following essential requirements:
- Drive growth of Trusts and Foundations income especially at the five- and six-figure level, with a particular view to supporting unrestricted income and major projects in the organisation’s pipeline.
- Proactively manage a personal portfolio of Trusts and Foundations, regularly meeting and engaging with prospective funders to pitch proposals and check-in around expectations.
- Liaise with key internal stakeholders to develop accurate, compelling funding applications in line with deadlines set by funders.
- Build lasting relationships with funders in order to establish opportunities for multi-year income generation.
- Drive the Trusts and Foundations prospecting process and increase the range of prospects approached for support, utilising prospect research tools and securing introductions from our network.

Main Responsibilities:

- u To manage a team of three maintenance technicians (full and part time), and facilities administration assistant and to be responsible for their training and professional development
- u To be the Health and Safety Officer for YMCAES to ensure that the organisation complies with all current legislation and to encourage good practice throughout the YMCAES.
- To be responsible for ensuring all risk assessments are up to date and accurate:
- to carry out regular building risk assessments
- where necessary support and advise staff in completion of risk assessments
- to ensure fire risk assessments are carried out in accordance with legislation and good practice
- To be responsible for the maintenance of YMCA buildings and sites. Including preparation of cyclical maintenance plans and to arrange and supervise necessary major works to be scheduled and safely carried out in accordance with the project plans.
- To be responsible for managing the online maintenance system (Pyramid) ensuring accurate recording and reporting of:
- daily reactive maintenance tasks
- planned and cyclical maintenance tasks
- all regulatory building compliance requirements.

- To provide the CEO and Head of Housing with advice and guidance around technical and regulatory requirements on YMCA property developments and acquisitions of new buildings.
To work with the HOCS to prepare a budget for central costs (buildings and vehicles) and to manage this budget through the year.
To prepare and present a report to the quarterly Governance and Risk Committee which has a remit for overseeing the organisational risk management framework, incident reporting and regulatory compliance.

Time & Talents is a lively, busy community centre in the heart of Rotherhithe, SE16. Set in a leafy heritage building, and ‘T&T2’, our second venue in Surrey Quays Shopping Centre, we offer something for everyone. With a history of 137 years of supporting people of all ages in Rotherhithe and Bermondsey, we bring people together for mutual support, fun and friendship with a wide range of services and activities for older people and other adults, along with volunteering and children and families’ projects.
T&T has grown substantially over the last 5 years, and we are in an exciting time for the charity. We are reviewing our long-term aims and changing local needs to ensure programme delivery continues our extensive track record of positive outcomes. Home-Start Staffordshire Moorlands have a rewarding opportunity to lead our team committed to providing support to families across the Moorlands, responding to the challenges within the charity sector.
We are seeking a manager, with a range of skills, able to lead the team, oversee the operations of the charity, provide support to the Trustee board, and ensure the future financial strength of the charity. We are seeking a manager who can provide strategic leadership and vision, has strong communication skills, has knowledge of charity finance and skills in bid writing and income generation, and who is passionate about the early years and the work of Home-Start.
Home-Start Staffordshire Moorlands has operated successfully in the Moorlands district for 25 years. We have a strong track record in the delivery of both home visiting support through our skilled Coordinators and Volunteer team and in Group provision for the early years.
The successful candidate should
- Demonstrate commitment to the importance of the early years and the importance of support to parents who may be facing difficulties
- Demonstrate experience of leadership and management in a changing environment
- Have experience of securing funding and income generation
- Be able to form partnerships with voluntary, statutory and community organisations

About the role
Based within the largest directorate in the Society, Dementia Support and Partnerships, the role will form part of a small team of business managers ensuring effective, efficient and compliant delivery of all our activities across all departments and functions of the Directorate.
Alzheimer’s Society’s Hope and Help Strategy focuses our efforts on growing our reach, increasing our impact and ensuring timely, accurate diagnosis. The role of business managers will be to support the success of the strategy through the design, implementation and monitoring of our planning, performance, compliance, risk and budget management on a departmental level. To achieve this, the expectation of the role is to support associate directors heading the department and their teams in embedding business management principles in their day-to-day work.

The role will report to the Dementia Support and Partnerships’ Business Manager and contribute to the overall achievement of the strategic objectives of the Directorate.
About you
- You will be skilled in translating strategic priorities into departmental plans and objectives, bringing your experience of measuring success of business and people plans through performance metrics and dashboards.
- You will have experience of successfully developing and delivering strategic analysis, providing recommendations for improvements and business intelligence that supports evidence-based decision making.
- You will have developed frameworks for measuring outcomes and impact, and systems for driving up the improvements in relation to those.
- You are a first-class communicator and negotiator, influencing positive change through evidence-led solutions informed by the people with direct experience of dementia.
- You will be highly organised and systematic and able to prioritise and co-ordinate multiple tasks and activities.

As an Assistant Community Shop Manager (ACSM) for St Giles Hospice you will support in leading a team of volunteers. You’ll be empowered to make decisions locally whilst working within a supportive framework. You’ll work within and for your local community ensuring that engagement and support is understood and promoted.
You’ll have good customer service skills and want to be part of a successful team. Ideally, you’ll have previous retail experience with the ability to manage and lead the store in the absence of the Community Shop Manager (CSM).
Reporting into the CSM and working closely with the Retail Regional Manager you will aid in supporting your store to run efficiently and deliver a positive financial contribution to the Hospice. You’ll also have the support of a Retail Regional Supervisor, available to provide store encouragement and development of best practice.
