BB4K Support Worker
Part time permanent position – 22 hours per week
Based in Reading
Salary in the range £12,849 - £15,704 per annum (Full time equivalent range of £21,610 - £26,412 per annum)
BB4K is PACT’s support programme for children (5 to 12 years old) and families who have been affected by domestic abuse.
The BB4K Support Worker will support families through providing outreach support, co-facilitating the BB4K Drop-in sessions, as well as targeted 1-2-1 delivery of the programme when required.
We are looking for someone with a good understanding of domestic abuse and the impact on children and families who is experienced in the use of therapeutic techniques.

Tower Hamlets Community Intervention Service (THCIS) is a flexible floating support service that accepts both self and partner agency referrals. THCIS has the capacity to support up to 106 high to medium needs customers with a range of complex requirements; including those with mental health diagnoses, drug and alcohol addictions, survivors of domestic abuse and those with housing needs. The service operates Monday to Friday 8am - 6:30pm.
Job Overview:
We are recruiting for Enhanced Support Workers to join our floating support service in Tower Hamlets. The post holder will be responsible for a caseload of up to 20 customers living across the borough of Tower Hamlets. The customers have diverse range of medium to high needs including mental health needs, homelessness, survivors of domestic abuse and those with drug and alcohol misuse. The successful candidate will be expected to creatively engage with customers in the community and work collaboratively with a range of partner agencies such as Tower Hamlets housing departments, Drug and alcohol services, Domestic abuse services and CMHT's to meet customer needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake key-working responsibilities for a caseload assigned by the Team Leader/ Manager
- Undertake initial and continuous assessment of needs and potential risks and agree levels of support and actions
- Create support/action plans for providing appropriate services based on the assessment and reflecting the services and resources available
- Support customers to undertake all domestic tasks wherever possible, including practical assistance where they have not yet developed the skills, to ensure customers enjoy a high quality of accommodation
- Develop and maintain links with all key agencies and service providers in the local community
- Develop knowledge around the local mental health system to ensure customers receive the best treatment available
- Lead on an area of specialism (e.g. ETE, health and wellbeing) and build partnerships and develop internal and external opportunities for service-users in this area
- Empower customers to ensure they receive the service and benefits they are entitled to
- Undertake all administrative work and keep accurate and comprehensive customer records to professional standards
- Adhere to Look Ahead's Policies and Procedures
- Engage in learning and development activity to increase knowledge and skills
- Undertake any other duties consistent with the grade and nature of the post as may be reasonably assigned
