We are currently recruiting a trauma-informed, person-centred Counsellor to deliver essential and life-saving counselling for survivors of rape, sexual assault and sexual abuse. The Counsellor will be employed by TRC Sexual Abuse & Rape Support Greater Manchester, working 24 hours a week over 3 days, and will be based at our office space in Trafford. The Counsellor will have a counselling caseload as well as completing additional tasks such as conducting initial assessments, triaging clients, and establishing next steps for each client in line with TRC's safeguarding policies.

As an Advocacy and Complex Needs Advisor, you will:
- Complete effective and efficient welfare case management of a complex caseload of beneficiaries facing multiple disadvantages, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
- To work in a trauma-informed way, understanding the impact of trauma, recognising its signs, and creating a safe and supportive environment for beneficiaries and colleagues. This includes implementing professional practices that foster safety, trustworthiness, collaboration, and empowerment, while actively avoiding re-traumatisation.
- Complete face-to-face visits at the beneficiaries’ home or out in the community, as appropriate and in line with RBL visit policy, to meet beneficiary needs.
- Collaboratively conduct a thorough exploration of needs and assess priorities to create and adapt an objective-based action plan.
- Provide expert advice, guidance, and advocacy, and make referrals to both statutory and third-sector agencies with a focus on empowering the beneficiary to address and manage their needs effectively.
- Help beneficiaries stay connected and maintain engagement with services that provide professional interventions.
- Offer essential emotional and practical support to beneficiaries awaiting assessments from other services.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of risk management and safeguarding practices and procedures for adults and children.
- Keep your professional practice up to date with current policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with Legion standards.
- Perform other duties related to the role as requested by your line manager or Head of Department/Divisions.

We're looking for someone to be the regional representative for Crimestoppers in the Avon and Somerset area, with specific responsibility for;
- Creation and delivery of local/county/regionally specific crime-based campaigns in partnership with law enforcement agencies, local committees and volunteers.
- Coordination of cross border and national activity in support of ROCU’S, the NCA and other bodies such as the GLAA.
- Identifying and maximising funding opportunities for our charity including RM post, campaign activity, Fearless workers and for Business Development.
- Enabling volunteer committees to develop so they can operate effectively and achieve their full potential.
- Act as Crimestoppers spokesperson for the region covered, regarding media interviews.
Criteria
Essential
- Project management i.e. scoping planning, implementation and delivery of projects
- Budget management experience
- Ability to spend time away from home to meet the needs of the role.
- Ability to work unsociable hours in line with the needs of the role.
- Ability to work to tight timescales, and to work within pressurised time critical and decision-making scenarios.
Desirable
- Experience of working with the commercial/ statutory sector in relation to campaigns/ media.
- Experience of working with volunteers and the third sector.
- Ability to liaise with senior and junior management within organisations to delivered relevant outcomes.
- Basic knowledge of policing practice.
- Experience of lone working
