About the role
We are looking for a Lead Trainer to oversee our non-accredited courses covering England and Wales. Current training courses include topics such as responding to domestic abuse, employer training, DASH risk assessment, and MARAC chairing, among others. You will also contribute to the development of new training courses in response to emerging needs from specific commissioners, while actively monitoring sector developments to ensure our offerings remain relevant and impactful.
You will be part of the SafeLives Training and Development Team, with shared responsibility for developing, delivering and continuing a range of courses from within our suite. More broadly, you will work to ensure that SafeLives’ training programmes are in line with our strategic priorities and are of the highest quality, including course development and delivery with external partners and associate trainers.
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week.
Contract: Fixed term for 6 months, until 30th May 2026.
Location: Flexible (home, Bristol office or London office) with regular travel across UK.

We are looking for CARA Facilitators to co-deliver domestic abuse awareness raising group workshops to first time offenders of domestic abuse who have made a full admission and accept responsibility of their use of unhealthy behaviour.
CARA
CARA is an out of court resolution intervention. Following a police call out and release from custody, individuals meeting an eligibility criteria and identified as standard risk are issued a caution by Humberside police. The Caution includes a referral to CARA, consisting of two domestic abuse awareness raising group workshops designed by Hampton Trust and delivered by TLC: Talk, Listen, Change. The workshops are delivered one month apart to a closed group.
The role
In this role you will partner with another CARA Facilitator and be responsible for delivery of the two CARA workshops on Saturdays. There is no requirement to be available every Saturday, instead we are looking to recruit a pool of facilitators who will be scheduled to deliver CARA cohorts subject to their availability and proximity to the delivery venues. Delivery venues will include those close to public transport routes across Humberside. Facilitators will be required to commit to a minimum delivery of two cohorts (four workshops) per year. There will also be additional hours available to deliver CARA telephone intervention at flexible times across the week.
You will be required to attend core CARA Facilitator Training which is TBC but expected to be in December.

You’ll be confident in delivering group work, assessing and managing group dynamics. You’ll have experience in gaining people’s trust and you’ll be confident addressing negative behaviour. You will also have experience of managing safeguarding issues. We’d also love to hear from applicants who are fluent in speaking an additional language.

This is an opportunity to join Refuge as a Domestic Abuse Helpline IDVA, supporting survivors of domestic abuse and their children, from the point of crisis, providing high quality independent advocacy and support.
Referrals to the Warwickshire Domestic Violence and Abuse Service (DVSW) will come via a single-point-of-access Freephone telephone number, or email, from professionals on behalf of victim survivors and victim-survivors who want to self-refer. Referrals can come through any agency, or self-referral, and pathways are well established with all local statutory and support services including the police, social care, housing, health, education, mental health, drug and alcohol services and the voluntary sector. The DVSW service will accept referrals for any survivor living in Warwickshire, at any level of risk, on a needs-led basis.
The Helpline IDVA will work closely with Refuge’s community outreach service support workers, the MARAC team, deputy managers, and the refuge accommodation team. Refuge’s deputy manager for the community outreach will manage the helpline worker alongside the outreach workers, taking overall responsibility for monitoring, reporting, and meeting outcomes across the community outreach support service.
The Helpline IDVA’s post is an exciting opportunity to work in a collaborative way across all referring agencies and therefore it is an important aspect of this job that the post holder has experience of working collaboratively with a range of other agencies.

Main Duties

Casework Management
·To advise and support LGBT survivors of domestic violence.
·To undertake advocacy casework, working with survivors following an initial assessment of their needs, working within a structured key-working relationship.
·To provide one-to-one-emotional, practical, legal and advocacy support to survivors through the development of an individual support plan, including risk assessments, safety planning and assistance in accessing other relevant services such as the police, counselling, housing, and legal services.
·To support LGBT survivors of domestic violence who are going through the criminal justice system.
·To develop and maintain good working relationships and links with other agencies, referring service users to appropriate specialist agencies where necessary as part of a support plan and in consultation with them.
·To ensure that any issues in relation to child or adult protection concerns are responded to in line with Birmingham LGBT’s policies and are brought to the immediate attention of the line manager.
·To deliver training on LGBT domestic violence.
·To work within Birmingham LGBT’s policies and procedures.
Monitoring, Evaluation and Information Management
·To participate in the collection and maintenance of information on relevant referral agencies and local services.
·To ensure high quality and effective statistical monitoring is undertaken at all times in accordance with Birmingham LGBT’s procedures.
·To produce monitoring reports as requested by the Office of the West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner.
·To maintain accurate, confidential service-user records of contact details and interventions, ensuring that personal information is up-to-date and that it is kept secure and confidential at all times in compliance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and Birmingham LGBT’s procedures.
·To ensure that feedback from service users and agencies is actively sought to inform the continuous improvement and development of the service.
Professional Development and Training
·To keep up-to-date with developments in legislation, policy and local and national government initiatives that address domestic violence.
·To attend and prepare for regular meetings with the line manager and to participate in individual appraisals in accordance with Birmingham LGBT’s policies and procedures.

We are looking to welcome an experienced IDVA to our friendly and energetic team to support women experiencing domestic abuse. If you are ready to empower women to move forward with your lives, we would love to hear from you.
You will be providing trauma-informed, specialist support for women with complex needs through risk assessments, safety planning, individual advice sessions and advocacy in court and with other statutory services.
Duties:
To provide advice and advocacy for women experiencing domestic abuse by offering crisis intervention, information and support for those who have been referred via MARAC due to domestic or sexual abuse or violence or any other recognised intimate violence against women and girls.
To devise emergency safety plans for survivors, liaising with social services, the Housing Inclusion and Support Team, other VCSE organisations and refuges to secure emergency housing if needed.
To provide targeted support where women have mental health, substance misuse, complex needs or face other challenges. Where needed, refer to appropriate support services if the survivor has support needs or requires a specialist service, e.g. male survivor to Respect or GALOP, frail older people to Adult Social Services.
To carry out risk assessments of women for referrals to MARAC where applicable
To develop effective links and partnerships with police and the courts and provide information, advice and support to survivors going through the legal process, explaining the effectiveness of criminal and civil sanctions available.
To comply with safeguarding requirements relating to children and vulnerable adults and explain the safeguarding requirements to the survivor.
Maintain and update accurate written and computer records of all cases and share a summary of this information with managers, ensuring that data protection (GDPR) regulations are followed, (within the organisation as well as when communicating with partner organisations).
To maintain contact with the survivor at regular (timely) intervals to provide support and ensure her safety, including updates of the risk assessment and safety plan.
To respond within the bounds of confidentiality (GDPR), to requests from other agencies for consultations or facilitate direct contact between agencies and service users.
To participate in multi-agency workings parties and focus groups, when requested to do so by the Director or your manager.
To attend team meetings, relevant meetings with trustees and to be part of Her Centre outreach marketing plan
To take on other tasks as appropriate as requested by managers or the Trustees

As our Domestic Abuse Officer, you will provide a high-quality pro-active service to victims of domestic abuse and other forms of VAWG in either 1:1 or group settings delivering a service to those at medium and low risk.
As a Domestic Abuse Officer, your responsibilities will be:
· To work within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnership responses to domestic abuse.
· To ensure that women are enabled to access their rights and are informed about their options.
· To reach out to survivors of domestic abuse and raise awareness of domestic abuse and local services offered.
· To support and implement the aims and objectives of Young Ladies Club ensuring that all work is undertaken in accordance with Young Ladies Club policies and procedures.
· To facilitate or co-facilitate the support groups
· To facilitate the provision of culturally sensitive therapeutic interventions and counselling services.
Required Skills and Experience:
· Demonstrable qualifications and/or experience in the field of domestic violence accommodation and support.
· An excellent working knowledge of key issues faced by black and minoritised women who have experienced Domestic Abuse and VAWG. Able to apply this knowledge at a practical level.
· Experience of identifying and responding to the risks to and needs of survivors of domestic
violence
· Experience of working with vulnerable women at least some of which are women or girls affected by domestic abuse and other forms of gender-based violence.
· A sound working knowledge of the practical, emotional, social and economic issues facing black and minoritised women and girls affected by domestic, and intimate relationship abuse
· Experience of multi-agency partnership working
· Knowledge of relevant legislation relating to Immigration, Honour Based Violence, Forced Marriage and FGM.
· Experience in running support groups in the community
· Ability to work with interpreters and volunteers.
· Ability to work with voluntary organisations, local authorities and government agencies on behalf of women.
· Effective communication skills.
· Experience of managing basic administrative systems.
· Training and qualifications in the provision of advice and advocacy on issues such as housing, welfare benefits and domestic violence.
· Good working knowledge of IT system and databases.
· Ability to run groups virtually on Zoom/Teams etc

About the role:

The aim of the Hertfordshire Mind Network Domestic Abuse Casework Service is to provide advice, information, and support to survivors of intimate partner or familial violence living in the community about the range, effectiveness, and suitability of options to improve their safety and that of their children. The purpose of the Hertfordshire Mind Network Community Outreach Worker role is to:
- To provide support and advocacy services to clients experiencing domestic abuse
- To ensure direct contact is made with the client within a specified time of an incident being reported to the police and to carry out a risk assessment.
- To ensure that the safety and wellbeing of the client is monitored and reviewed regularly.
- To maintain and enhance service delivery standards and effectiveness.
- To support the team with case management and volume of referrals to ensure a short waiting time and referrals are contacted promptly and assessed appropriately.
- To collate and obtain feedback regarding the effectiveness of the service.
