Now, as we begin a new strategic direction, our case for support is more compelling than ever. It is an exciting time to be joining the charity - our new strategy, ‘Acting for Impact’, has a bold ambition to achieve meaningful change for the professional performing arts community - to help more people, in more ways - the Head of Fundraising will be central to achieving that.
This full-time role is based at our office in central London a minimum of three days per week, with some flexible working. The salary is within the range of £42,000 to £48,000, dependent on experience. Fundraising at BCYP
BCYP has historically been very successful in raising funds from non-statutory sources, particularly trusts and foundations, and is grateful to hold a number of established relationships with grant- makers. We work hard to ensure that we submit excellent, data-driven applications and evaluations. Until now, applications have largely been submitted by our Fundraising Manager- Trusts & Foundations, with occasional support from a freelance bid-writer. We now want to recruit a new member of the team, to help us to grow our income stream in this area and help us to steward these key relationships.
In this exciting newly created role, you will be responsible for helping to grow our income from grant- makers to design and promote funding opportunities, and to steward relationships with supporters through the giving cycle. We are looking for a fundraiser with at least three to four years of experience in identifying prospects and grant-writing, and who has experienced success in securing funds. Vitally, we want to recruit an individual who is as committed to Brent’s vision, and who will work with us to help us be there for young people in the coming years.

Leadership

Your role
We are seeking a Senior Fundraising Leader to secure funding from diverse sources to support our program and initiatives. The ideal candidate has senior-level fundraising experience at an NGO, organisation, or charity, a strong and established network of executive relationships in major foundations, and a proven track record of identifying and closing deals in the range of 1-5 million USD. The fundraising leader will develop relationships with potential donors, identify fundraising opportunities, and manage the grant application process.
We seek someone who aligns with the DfG mission, has a passion for fundraising and can strategise and deliver new initiatives. The fundraiser will collaborate with program staff, and senior management to develop leads, compelling proposals and reports. The working environment is informal, team-oriented, and encourages individual input and development. Thereby supporting the execution of DfG’s impact driven program to improve life through design. This position reports to the Managing Director of Design for Good.
Key Responsibilities
· Relationship Management: Build and nurture relationships with current and prospective donors, program officers, and key stakeholders, serving as the main point of contact for grant inquiries, reporting, and communications.
· Research: Identify and explore funding opportunities from individuals, corporations, foundations, and other potential donors whose interests align with our programs. Regularly monitor donor databases and other sources for announcements and opportunities.
· Applications & Fundraising Development: Lead the creation of high-quality grant proposals and letters of inquiry in collaboration with program staff, ensuring they are compelling, well-structured, and tailored to donor priorities.
· Compliance and Reporting: Ensure all grants meet donor regulations, reporting requirements, and deadlines. Prepare and submit timely, accurate reports highlighting achievements, challenges, and financial impact.
· Monitoring and Evaluation: Track the success of fundraising efforts, monitor progress toward revenue goals, and use data analysis to identify trends and inform strategy, providing regular updates and insights.
· Events, Networking, and Representation: Organize fundraising events and oversee volunteer and partner teams. Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to foster collaboration and boost resource mobilization.

Preferred skills and qualifications

Fixed Term Contract (up to 12 months)

As Community Fundraiser you will play a key and vital role of working with supporters to inspire them by delivering community fundraising initiatives with individuals and groups.

Reporting to the Regional Manager, the role would suit somebody who has excellent communications skills with either fundraising experience or sales background looking for a chance to get into fundraising.

About You:
- Fundraising experience is preferred, but for a strong communicator with sales experience training will be provided
- Experience of working to KPIs and targets
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to communicate effectively at all levels
- A team leader and player with the ability to lead, motivate and manage a geographically dispersed volunteer base
- Ability to build positive relationships with volunteers, donors and key area stakeholders and manage their expectations
About the Role:
12 month fixed term contract
- Developing and maintaining sustainable relationships with supporters in local communities
- Implementing fundraising plans for identified St John Ambulance fundraising volunteers/groups in order to deliver the community fundraising strategy
- Managing all community fundraising supporter relationships to agreed budgets, deadlines and stewardship levels
- Analysing and proactively managing fundraising group development in order to achieve agreed targets
- Manage, recruit, induct, training/coaching, retaining and rewarding volunteers in line with the volunteer strategy
