Academy Team Leader - National Youth Agency

As the national body for youth work, the NYA has a dual function. We are the professional statutory and regulatory body (PSRB) responsible for qualifications, quality standards, and safeguarding for youth work and services in England. In line with our charity mission and aims, we also champion youth work through research, advocacy, campaigns, and programmes.
 
We work in partnership and believe in collaborative leadership, listening to youth workers and the youth work sector so that we can understand their needs and respond to the challenges they face. About the Role
 
This role is situated within the NYA Academy with a focus on providing the very best youth work learning and development experiences across our NYA activities and programs for clients and young people. This role line manages and coordinates a team of Academy Tutors, supporting the delivery of training and developmental support for the NYA Academy. You will also hold cohort(s) of learners and be responsible for providing a positive learning experience.  
 
The role requires a highly experienced youth work practitioner and line manager that is competent and confident in a leadership role; able to manage a passionate and experienced team of youth work specialists to provide a supportive space for reflective practice and professional growth whilst maintaining performance across NYA Academy contracts. 
 
With a focus on training and development, this role requires experience of understanding the needs of learners, how to create engaging and relevant content and how to deliver high quality experiences for learners and other customers. 
 
The post will require significant networking and engagement across the youth sector to ensure the NYA’s work is rooted in the needs of our sector. 
 
Key responsibilities for this role will include:

• Manage and motivate a team of youth work specialists, providing line management and opportunities for reflective practice.  
• Working with the Deputy Academy Principal to manage workflow and ensure deliverables are meeting required timescales. 
• Work with the Deputy Academy Principal to build sector capacity to deliver quality youth work practice qualifications and CPD. 
• Tutor and assess cohort(s) of learners.  
• Work with the wider delivery team to develop and deliver training and development programmes to NYA staff and clients. 
• Provide quality assurance for training and qualifications delivered across the NYA, working collaboratively with Lead IQAs.  
• Ensure the NYA follows best safeguarding best practice. 
• Ensure all operational activity and youth work content is to the highest quality, representing the position of NYA as the National Body for Youth Work in England. 
• Any other duties that may reasonably be required of the role.

The Senior Children’s and Families Pastor is a key role within the staff team at St Stephen’s.

We are looking for someone with a passion to see children (0-11s) and their families grow as whole life disciples of Jesus, with direct experience working with children, and proven strategic leadership skills, to lead this ministry into continued growth at this exciting time for St Stephen’s.

• Support the preparation, organisation, and maintenance of key Science team information resources which underpin our work and provide support for their use across the organisation. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

About the Role

As a Support Worker in our Housing First team, you’ll be a key point of contact for a small caseload of residents (approx. 6). You'll offer tailored, compassionate, housing-related and other person-centered support—enabling residents to articulate and achieve their goals, navigate systems, and rebuild their lives.

You’ll work closely with SCT’s internal services teams and external agencies to remove barriers, promote wellbeing, and champion the voice of each resident.

Key Responsibilities

Support and Advocacy

• Deliver person-centred, trauma-informed support to Housing First residents.
• Conduct comprehensive needs and risk assessments.
• Develop meaningful relationships that foster trust, choice and wellbeing.
• Advocate for residents’ access to healthcare, housing, benefits and specialist services.
• Support residents with practical tasks like budgeting, appointments, and accessing community resources.
• Encourage participation in community drug and alcohol services, and other recovery pathways.

Housing and Recovery Support

• Help residents secure, move into, and sustain suitable accommodation.
• Support the use of residents’ personalised budgets (e.g., for furniture, clothing, etc.).
• Work with residents and our housing partner to resolve issues and prevent eviction.
• Facilitate access to SCT’s wider services as required.

Collaboration and Coordination

• Build strong partnerships with local services, agencies and community networks.
• Maintain clear records on In-Form and contribute to reports and evaluations.

About You

Essential Skills and Experience

• Experienced in supporting adults with complex needs (e.g., addiction, homelessness, mental health).
• Possesses strong organisational skills and is able to work independently.
• Has excellent interpersonal, communication and active listening skills.
• Has up-to-date safeguarding knowledge.
• Is confident in the use of IT and a range of software packages.
• Is flexible, resilient, and adaptable to a changing environment.

Desirable

• Knowledge of trauma-informed care and PIE approaches.
• Understanding of the benefits system and tenancy sustainment.
• Familiarity with In-Form or comparable CRM system.

This is a vital role supporting older people and those with long-term health conditions as they return home from hospital.

You’ll be part of a fast-moving, highly valued service that helps people stay safe, independent and confident in their own homes. From installing grab rails and key safes to putting up curtain rails or fixing minor plumbing issues, the work you do will directly improve lives and reduce the risk of accidents and readmissions.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety and problem-solving, as no two days are the same. You’ll work closely with occupational therapists, respond to referrals (often on the same day), and be trusted to manage your own tasks with care and professionalism. You’ll also support our paid-for service offering, where your practical help continues to give people the reassurance they need to live independently.

About the role 

This is a critical role that will work with the newly created Head of Media and Strategic Communications to help deliver an ambitious media strategy, which aims to help secure policy change, improve public attitudes and strengthen our new brand.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Create and deliver proactive media strategies to support fundraising, services, and policy work, securing coverage to engage target audiences and build the brand profile.
• Be a key member of a high-performing press office by building journalist relationships, handling media requests, drafting press materials, and supervising media volunteers.
• Monitor media coverage, maintain mailing lists, and distribute materials.
• Work with the Senior Stories and Content Officer to find compelling case studies and support refugees to share their stories.
• Produce social media content to inform and engage key audiences.
• Devise marketing plans to support services, influencing work, and brand building.
• Plan, produce, and review marketing and fundraising materials, ensuring quality, accuracy, and alignment with brand guidelines.

About you

You will have extensive experience in media and communications, having worked in a busy press office or PR agency. You are skilled at distilling complex issues into clear, consistent messaging for external audiences and have a proven track record of implementing media strategies across both traditional and digital platforms.

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly organised and proactive individual to join our Individual Giving team as the Individual Giving Assistant – Supporter Acquisition.

This role will play a key part in supporting the recruitment of new supporters to the Charity through a range of direct marketing channels and propositions. The post-holder will provide vital administrative support, help deliver campaigns, ensure excellent supporter care, and play an important role in front-of-house operations at both our Chelsea and Sutton offices.
