Financial Modelling Analyst | £50,000 - £55,000 | 12-month FTC | Fully Remote

For the UKs largest not-for-profit social enterprise in the employment and social mobility sector, we are recruiting a Financial Modeller / Analyst on a 12-month contract which could go permanent. Working closely with the finance business partners and commercial operations teams, this role will develop models to review commercial bids and acquisitions and provide insight to senior leaders on value drivers to inform decision making around bidding strategy and financial planning. This role will suite someone with first-rate commercial tendering, bidding, financial modelling, and Excel skills and a strong relationship builder from either the commercial or social enterprise sector. CFA or CIMA qualifications are preferred. Please note, this is a fully remote role but applicants need to be UK-based.

Main Duties:

• Deliver financial and commercial analytics, and modelling, focusing on new business development, bidding and tendering
• Implement best practices in modelling and business development processes across the group
• Utilise modelling standards such as FAST, F1F9, Mazars, Smart, ICAEW Modelling Code, Operis, or BPM.
• Summarise and present complex opportunities and risks for senior management decision-making
• Build and maintain strong relationships across finance, operations, and business development teams
• Support wider team in annual budgeting and long-term forecasting
• Support the Senior Financial Planning Analyst and business leaders in developing and implementing strategy

Person Specification:

• CFA is preferred, but would consider CIMA or ACCA qualified too

About you

You will be a skilled relationship-builder with strong experience of working with Black and minoritised communities and/or community-led organisations.

You will have excellent communication and facilitation skills, and experience supporting or engaging survivors and/or marginalised groups in a trauma-informed and inclusive way. 

You will bring a strong understanding of anti-discriminatory and survivor-centred practice, and a commitment to widening participation in systems change work. 

Experience supporting collaborative engagement projects or survivor groups would be desirable, as would experience moderating online spaces or forums.

A mission-driven and impact focused single programme NGO is seeking a Finance Business Partner with strong financial modelling skills for a part-time, fully remote fixed term contract for approximately 4-6 months. The role is to support the Finance Director, HR team, CEO and other stakeholders with business partnering, along with specific financial modelling projects.

The organisation’s mission is to get 3-6 year old children in rural Africa to thrive. They have developed an award-winning Early Childhood Development programme, proven its impact through rigorous evaluation, and scaled it with governments in both Ghana and Uganda. It is currently reaching over 300,000 children per year, and we aim to reach 1 million children per year by 2028. The programme benefits both preschool age children and unlocks the potential of marginalised rural parents.

You will work in a busy finance team based in the UK, Ghana and Uganda. The role can be done fully-remotely from within the UK, and the salary range on offer is circa £50,000 - £60,000 FTE (pro-rata). It is anticipated there will be around 2-3 days work per week for approximately 4-6 months.

Experience within a business partnering / modelling role within the NGO sector would be very useful, but is not essential.

Duties include:

• Work focused on adaptions for new contexts: The programme targets rural communities in Ghana and Uganda. This year the organisation plans to scale to a new country and to test ways to adapt it for this new context. They are also keen to explore whether the programme can be adapted for refugee settings.
• Financial modelling focused on selecting a new country to launch the programme
• Specific cost modelling and fundraising modelling around the corporate sponsorship of the organisation’s radio station project

• Develop and strengthen robust and flexible cost models (including sensitivity analyses/stress testing) to guide decisions around the pace and rate of scale, staffing & resource requirements (HR), ensure value for money and maximise cost efficiencies.
• Develop robust budgets for new and renewal funder applications, considering complexities around funder restrictions, currency exchange and forecast economic conditions.
• Analysis and modelling on organisational procedures & policies and capacity building projects

Requirements:

• Fully or part-qualified ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent
• Demonstrable experience with finance business partnering to a range of stakeholders
• Strong financial modelling skills – ideally in things such as cost analysis, funding analysis etc
• Intermediate/advanced Excel and strong data analysis skills
• An understanding of international charity finance - donor reporting, programmes finance, foreign currency transactions is useful

You will also be leading the development and launch of The WMUK Support centre, an innovative new online service, bringing WM specialists together to offer tailored, holistic support across the UK.

About the role

Each of the Support Network Coordinators have the responsibility for delivering, maintaining, and expanding the support services available to spinal cord injured (SCI) people and their region of the UK.

The post coordinates two vital parallel strands:

1. In your region, to reach and support newly and long-term spinal cord injured people and their families developing a strong partnership with all available specialist services, charity and business partners; managing a dedicated team of volunteers as well as providing direct support to SCI people with more complex support needs.
2. Nationally, working to facilitate the link between SCI people and SIA and the network of services; referring SCI people and their families to our clinical / health expert support teams and advocacy services; working with the Digital Engagement team to build on-line links to regional partners in your area; supporting fundraising, campaigns and communications.

Accountabilities

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

1. HR Strategy & Organisational Development

• Collaborate with the leadership team to drive the organisation’s People Management Strategy

• Devise and deliver HR projects to improve business efficiency and effectiveness

• Lead succession planning initiatives across the organisation

• Horizon scan for emerging HR practices and employment law developments

2. HR Policy, Compliance & Risk Management

• Develop and maintain HR policies, procedures, and the Employee Handbook to ensure legal compliance

• Ensure compliance with UK employment law across all HR functions

• Lead on:

  • Third Party Risk Policy

  • Equality Impact Assessment Policy

  • Stakeholder Engagement Policy (ensuring service user perspectives are integrated)

• Monitor adherence to internal policies, including whistleblowing, grievances, and dignity at work

• Audit EDI data bi-annually and create strategies to promote diversity and inclusion

3. Employee Relations & Case Management

• Providing advice and leading on the process for :

  • Grievances

  • Disciplinaries

  • Bullying, harassment, and capability issues

  • Redeployment and redundancy

• Lead meetings prior to disciplinary sanctions in collaboration with our HR administrator

• Mediate disputes and facilitate conflict resolution within the context of HR discussions

4. Compensation and Benefits

• Regularly review and improve the Staff Portal alongside our Training & Development Lead

8. Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI)

• Stay updated on EDI legislation and best practice

• Support the organisation in being legally compliant, culturally relevant, and innovative in its EDI approach

• Lead data audits and present an equal opportunities review every two years

9. Professional Development & Networking

• Engage with local HR support networks, including CIPD and ACAS

• Maintain continuous professional development (CPD)

• Be an active member of Social Enterprise UK HSC HR group and attend relevant meetings

Person specification

We are looking for an efficient, well-organised, friendly person to join the team with the following qualities:

• CIPD qualified or equivalent professional HR qualification (Level 5 or above)

• Experience in a generalist HR role, including employee relations, policy development, and HR project delivery.

• Experience working on or leading Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) initiatives.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across all levels

• Confident facilitator and leader of sensitive meetings and discussions, with a culture of care

• As this is a hands on role, a high level of organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously is needed

• Commitment to fostering an inclusive, respectful, and supportive work environment

Job Title: Money & Energy Adviser

Reports to: Money & Energy Advice Service Lead

Location:

Home based – one post

Home based with travel across the South West region as required – one post.

To deliver money and energy advice service for kidney patients struggling with their energy and water bills and other costs of living challenges. You will provide subject matter expert support within our Patient Support Services team, and will work closely with our Patient Support & Advocacy Officers to develop and grow this service in your area.

Summary
To raise awareness of the service and build strong relationships with kidney patients, professionals, and other kidney stakeholder groups in your defined geographic region.

Key responsibilities
• With support, establish the Kidney Care UK Money & Energy Advice Service in the region for patients and carers at risk of fuel poverty to access independent support on money and energy matters
• Responsible for the day-to-day delivery of the Money & Energy Advice Service across the region, effectively managing an ongoing caseload
• Provide practical advice to patients, assessing their needs and identifying sources of support to resolve financial, practical and psychosocial challenges.

• Activities will include creating budget plans, completing income maximisation checks and benefit claims, carrying out switching exercises and Home Energy Surveys (this is not an exclusive list of tasks)
• Responsible for identifying cases where FSA approved advice is required, and supporting patients in the referral of their case to our approved partner organisation or other appropriate regional/national services

• Act as a gateway to local information and access to:

• Kidney Care UK Patient Grants service, raising awareness of the service and supporting applications
• Kidney Care UK Patient Support & Advocacy Service, to ensure patients have access to reliable and accurate patient information relating to kidney disease, patient pathways, models of care, and patient choice
• Kidney Care UK Counselling Service and other appropriate services to meet patients’ emotional and physiological needs

• Work closely with local Kidney Care UK Patient Support & Advocacy Officers to ensure that patients receive expert advice in all areas of need, with smooth, effective handovers ensuring that patients feel supported and part of the Kidney Care UK ‘family’ at all times

Main duties

• Proactively manage the CEO’s diary, inbox and meeting schedule to ensure strategic alignment and use of time

• Draft, edit and manage correspondence, briefing notes, and presentations on behalf of the CEO and leadership team

• Coordinate and support internal and external meetings, including logistics, agenda preparation, taking accurate minutes and tracking decisions and actions that arise

• Support the CEO to track progress on key priorities, ensuring deadlines are met and decisions are followed up

• Provide administrative and organisational support for events, travel and itineraries (UK and international) and other logistics

• Manage the CEO’s social media accounts as directed, posting content and responding to key contacts

Essential skills and experience

• A minimum of five years of experience providing high-level administrative support in a busy organisation

• Proficient in workplace software including Google Workspace, Zoom, Slack, Trello and able to learn to navigate new systems quickly 

• Experience of upwardly managing senior leaders with limited time and high responsibility 

• Experience managing external communications with senior stakeholders 

• Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records and produce coherent reports and minutes 

• A proactive, self-starting attitude with the ability to anticipate needs and adapt to changing priorities 

• Excellent time management skills: the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines is key

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Excellent interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence

• Confidence to constructively challenge when necessary, including speaking openly about conflicting viewpoints or workload balance
