Who are we looking for?
We are seeking an experienced treasurer who has a comprehensive understanding of charity finances, requirements and regulations and will actively support other board members to fulfil their collective responsibilities around finance.
You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the Gut UK’s ambitious growth plans are achievable, and sustainable for the long term. As a charity we need to do more, fund more, and support more people and we need a treasurer who shares our passion in achieving this.
As treasurer, you will play a vital role in ensuring our financial health, sustainability, and transparency. You guide and advise the Board on financial strategy, budgeting, and risk management, Chair the Finance, Fundraising, Audit & Risk Committee, ensuring robust oversight of financial and operational matters, support the CEO and COO, offering expert insight and challenge on financial planning and reporting, and champion good governance, transparency, and accountability across the organisation.

What this position entails
The Digital Marketing Manager will be responsible for formulating our digital marketing strategy, including digital fundraising strategy, guiding the content creation team, and managing the brand voice, while also laying a solid marketing foundation for the organisation.
Collaborating with the operational director and the content creators, the manager will lead the crafting of our organisational strategic plan to implement marketing initiatives. Trustee Board Duties and Collective Responsibilities

Person Specification
Charity Law requires that any Trustee must be 18 or over, not be an undischarged bankrupt and not have been convicted of any unspent offence involving dishonesty or deception.

Our Board
Our trustee board is currently made up of seven trustees, all women, who are passionate about our mission and framework, and who bring a range of skills and experience from social care and health to finance and research. We would like to recruit three or four new trustees in this round and would particularly welcome applications from people with skills and experience in communications, commissioning, safeguarding and trauma informed work.
Trustee Board meetings are held every two months from 5.30-7.30pm in person in Canterbury, with the option of online via MS Teams for occasions when trustees cannot make it in person. The CEO attends all meetings and members of the Senior Leadership Team attend on rotation. As well as standing agenda items there are always interesting and exciting opportunities to discuss, as well as challenges and risks to the organisation.

Time Commitment
- Estimated at 2-4 hours per month comprising:
- Six 2-hour board meetings per year - most meetings are in-person in Canterbury (usually at the Prince of Wales Youth Club or another local venue if the youth club is unavailable)
- Time to read and reflect on board papers
- Attending an annual away day and occasional training sessions
- Attending optional team meetings and survivor focus groups
Note – the time commitment may be slightly greater in the initial 6 month probation and induction period due to induction activities and training.
Terms of appointment
- Trustees are appointed for a 3-year term, with the potential for re-election.
- This is a voluntary position, but reasonable expenses will be reimbursed.
- Trustees receive a welcome pack and an induction with the Board and CEO, including an opportunity to meet some of the team and service users
- Trustees will be required to complete a DBS check and complete Safeguarding training
- Additional training may be offered where necessary.

The role of Preventative Mental Health Project Worker will support the Project Lead in the preparation for, and delivery of, One-Eighty’s preventative mental health projects including Make Me Smile, Kick Start and the Summer Project.
There is also the opportunity of assisting with the marketing of projects, particularly Make Me Smile and processing of feedback from young people attending the project.

When and where
Make Me Smile:
We are currently expanding the delivery of this project. Initially, you will be involved in the marketing around this with project delivery opportunities to follow.
Kick Start:
This project is being delivered on an ongoing basis to a variety of schools so there are opportunities to become involved in project delivery immediately.
We need volunteers who can be available for a 7-week block - approximately 1/2 a day each week over the 7 weeks.
o The schools we work in are located throughout Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire. There are potential opportunities for car sharing and you can decline an opportunity if it is not viable for you.

Who are we looking for?
At present we are working towards being fully operational, over the next year Living Reasons will be looking to expand its reach and part of that journey is to support people who have neurodevelopmental conditions, learning difficulties and/or disabilities through legal processes if they have faced discrimination. To do this, the organisation needs to remain knowledgeable in this area.
Living Reasons will not be giving legal advice, but will be supportive during the early stages of potential legal proceedings, which means we need an understanding of what is and is not permissible under UK law to ensure that we can help each person effectively while also not diminishing any future legal case, in fact we will be doing all we can to help build evidence in case this needs to happen in the future.
In the role of Discrimination Law Co-ordinator, you will ensure that all disputes and complaints that Living Reasons support someone are consistently meeting these requirements. This will be through templates and guideline creation and will also, at times mean going over individual cases whether this is not clear to the person engaging with the person that has the dispute.
We are not looking for a lawyer specifically, we understand that many people understand the law and may not have been able to engage with the education system to gain a degree for example or are currently in the process of learning law. We are looking for someone who is able to analyse the information in front of them and make the connections to legal precedents and back that up with case law or clear legal reasoning.
What is the plan?
The person who is starting the charity up is autistic, has ADHD, CPTSD and also multiple physical conditions that effect daily life and is part of the LGBTQ+ community and has faced a lot of issues in life because of these things.
Living Reasons is being created to fix what we think is a challenging situation that is getting harder to achieve every week, month and year in the current economic, political, environmental and societal landscape. It is not easily defined but we hope the charity objects below will help put context to what we want to achieve, what we can say is that below are the issues we are trying to address, how we do this will change as quickly as society does, but the issues we want to tackle are these:

REMIX is a dynamic new start-up youth charity dedicated to remixing young people’s lives across London. Who We Are Looking For

GBSS is the UK’s leading charity working to prevent life-threatening group B Strep infections in babies. Our Trustees play a vital role in shaping the strategic direction of the charity, ensuring it remains true to its mission, well-governed, financially sound, and impactful.
You will be part of a committed and collegiate Board, working alongside fellow Trustees, our Clinical Advisory Panel and our Staff Team to uphold GBSS’s values and objectives.
Key Trustee Responsibilities
Trustees contribute actively to the Board, which:
- Sets and maintains the vision, mission and values.
- Develops strategic direction and longer-term strategies.
- Establishes and monitors policy.
- Ensures compliance with the Governing Document and the law.
- Ensures accountability and that resources are used exclusively in furtherance of GBSS’s objectives.

You’ll work within ActionAid’s Decol Unit, supporting our global secretariat to design and deliver this ground-breaking webinar series. Together, we’ll build spaces for learning, dialogue and solidarity – connecting thinkers, activists, and ActionAid colleagues from around the world who are confronting the legacies of colonialism, extractivism and patriarchy.
Your days might involve researching inspiring speakers, coordinating logistics with grassroots movements, shaping engaging event materials, or helping make each session come alive online. You’ll play a key role in gathering stories, insights and learnings that will deepen our collective understanding of what true liberation and reparations can look like – and how ActionAid can stand shoulder-to-shoulder with others driving this change.
We’re looking for someone with a keen interest in decolonial and feminist thought, ideally with some experience of organising or supporting online events. You’ll be comfortable communicating across cultures, excited to collaborate, and motivated by ActionAid’s commitment to equality, diversity, inclusion and feminist leadership. Fluency in an additional language would be an advantage.
This is a volunteer role of around two days a week, mostly home-based, with occasional in-person meetings in our Farringdon, London office. It’s a rare chance to contribute to a global project at the heart of ActionAid’s mission to challenge systemic injustice and to connect with networks of activists, thinkers and changemakers across the world.
