The Role

This new role will enhance the strategic impact of our alumni to both the Business School and the University more widely through creative and collaborative working, and evaluating, and prioritising activity to best effect. Working in a matrix-management environment, you will be based in the Business School, reporting in to the Director of External Engagement (Partnerships and Executive Education) and will also be part of the University’s Advancement Team with professional accountability to the Head of Alumni and Supporter Engagement.

The post holder will therefore work in close partnership both with staff in the Business School (in particular External Engagement, key undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, Executive Education and the marketing and communications team) as well as with Advancement colleagues. You will be responsible for leading and managing the Business School’s alumni relations team, translating the School and University strategies into meaningful action, across two key areas of focus:

• Building our alumni community through a programme of engagement, events and communications that enhance our community engagement, identifying opportunities to maximise the impact within the context of Advancement and Business School strategies.
• Increasing the strategic impact of alumni engagement on research and student experience objectives, particularly through volunteering and advocacy.

Working with the team, you will play a critical role in adding strategic value to the Business School from alumni engagement, and developing how Business School engagement, content and activity can benefit the student and alumni community more widely. You will also be delivering against the strategic needs of the wider University, as we enhance our engagement of alumni and supporters (donors and volunteers). You will therefore have a proven approach to collaborative working and developing successful partnerships across organisations.
 

Person Specification

You will have significant experience of managing relationships and influencing senior stakeholders, both internally and externally, to deliver value-adding projects and initiatives. You will have experience of developing strategies, and translating these into activity, maximising events, communications and face-to-face relationship building activity to achieve strategic aims. You will be an experienced leader, able to manage and inspire a motivated, high performing, purpose-driven team with a culture of collaboration and a creative approach to opportunities and problem-solving.

We are currently delivering an ambitious five-year growth plan, which will ensure that we can reach as many young people as possible with our programme. As part of this growth we are now looking for a Technology and Insight Coordinator to join the team.

About the Role

The main responsibilities for this role are to maintain and improve Salesforce for the delivery and monitoring of activities, including delivery of the programme, volunteer recruitment, and partnerships management.

The system is optimised to serve the specific needs of the organisation and is intensively used by frontline staff and management on a daily basis. The organisation has an ongoing service agreement with ImpactBox, a Salesforce development company, for more significant development work. The platform is also integrated with Moodle, to allow management and monitoring of online learning for students.

You will have full oversight of the system and will support the team to make ongoing changes to functionality to achieve its goals. This would involve both independently updating the system (making reports, adding/changing fields, creating custom objects, creating and maintaining flows, user management etc.) and/or forwarding requirements to ImpactBox or your line manager if the development requirements are more significant. You will manage and assign user requests to the correct resource, being the first point of contact for all requests, and working cooperatively with staff members to ensure that needs are met.

About You

We are looking for someone with excellent project management skills and experience of:

· Analysing data in Excel and translating it into useful information for different audiences.

· Implementing, configuring, or administering solutions for Salesforce.

· Salesforce administration: Ability to manage and maintain user accounts, profiles, roles, and permissions.

· Reporting and dashboards: Knowledge of how to configure and maintain custom report types, reports, and dashboards

· Customisation and configuration: Ability to configure, build, and maintain custom Salesforce functionality including custom objects, fields, page layouts, process builders, flows, and workflows

· Data cleaning: Good knowledge of Excel to cleanse and analyse data (knowledge of Power Query)

· Integration: Knowledge of Salesforce integrations such as FormAssembly or Zapier (desirable), and how to import and export data into Salesforce using Dataloader, XL Connector, or equivalent

· Stakeholder and project management: Ability to manage projects involving both internal and external stakeholders, maintaining clear lines of communication

We help vulnerable young people by giving them the practical and emotional support they need to find a job and live independently. Centrepoint provides homeless young people with accommodation, health support and life skills in order to get them back into education, training and employment. We want to end youth homelessness by 2037.

The Compliance Team’s role is to provide assurance that, based on evidence, internal controls are in place and are operating effectively. We are responsible for ensuring Centrepoint can operate and develop safely within regulatory frameworks. The team, which consists of managers, officers and a head of department, oversees several aspects of compliance across Centrepoint, including fundraising, employability & skills, data protection, complaints, internal policies and procedures and safeguarding.   

Centrepoint operates a hybrid working model. The current requirement is a minimum of two days in the office per week, with the remaining days worked remotely. From 1 July 2025, this will increase to a minimum of 50% of your working week. For most full-time colleagues, this means attending the office for five days over a two-week period (e.g., two days one week and three days the next). For colleagues on different contracts (including part-time or compressed contracts) this will be adjusted accordingly.

The charity is embarking on its ambitious next five-year strategy. They are looking to strengthen the team with a talented and ambitious Fundraising Manager. Your role will support the Head of Fundraising, CEO and wider team to develop new sources of high value support, working flexibly across trusts and foundations, corporate and philanthropic fundraising.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a knack for identifying funding opportunities and discovering new prospects. You’ll contribute your ideas and initiative to develop and deliver compelling engagement opportunities for current and potential supporters, and lead on reporting impact to funders. Ultimately the post-holder is expected to grow in this role, to manage their own portfolio of high value donors.

Key Responsibilities:
 

• Research and develop a qualified pipeline of trust/foundation and corporate prospects to ensure achievement of voluntary income targets in 2027/28 and beyond. 
• Draft winning funding bids and support the Head of Fundraising and/or CEO to develop compelling proposals and/or pitches. 
• Support and manage the CEO to lead relationships with funders and prospects.
• Lead on managing the funder reporting cycle and ensuring we deliver on our funding agreements, producing timely and inspiring impact reports.
• Drive awareness and understanding of fundraising internally by making connections with colleagues across the organisation and working collaboratively to support achieving fundraising goals. 
• Maintain the quality of data in the fundraising team CRM (Salesforce), managing contacts and pipelines through the database and producing accessible reports on fundraising performance and forecasts. 

Person Specification:
 

• Previous high value fundraising experience (trusts and foundations, corporates or philanthropy), with a track record of successfully securing significant donations and achieving income targets.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain a varied workload, deliver to deadlines, and successfully manage multiple work streams and projects.
• Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence, with the confidence and evidenced ability to be able to nurture and maintain successful relationships with high value external stakeholders and senior colleagues. 
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, with an ability to translate complex projects and/or ideas into accessible and persuasive narratives that inspire and motivate. 
• The instincts and initiative to spot and seize fundraising opportunities; with the resilience, flexibility and tenacity to guide long term fundraising activities through to successful outcomes.
