Read for Good’s Grants and Trusts Manager leads on securing high-value income for the national charity from trusts and foundations, typically securing one-off and multi-year grants in the five- to six-figure range. You will research and cultivate prospective funders, produce compelling, tailored proposals, programme reports and manage a strong pipeline of funding opportunities. You will also develop and steward long-term funding relationships that align with our mission and strategy, building on our well established and robust pipeline. In addition to your own portfolio, you will support the wider grants and fundraising team, helping to deliver on team targets, strengthen internal processes, and ensure high-quality reporting and compliance.
This is a key role in the charity’s income generation strategy and will work closely with senior colleagues to shape fundable programmes and plan for long-term sustainability.

Salary: Circa £35k to £41k (depending on experience)

Key responsibilities
Income Generation and Fundraising
- Research and develop a strong pipeline of new and existing high-value trusts and grant-making prospects (typically five- and six-figure applications).
- Write compelling, tailored funding proposals that align with funder interests and organisational priorities.
- Manage and track income performance, reporting on progress against individual and team targets.
- Build strong, long-term relationships with funders and secure repeat and multi-year funding in the region of £400K p.a.
Team Management and Development
- Provide support and guidance to the wider Grants team, including freelance support as well as support cross organisational cooperation and team work

The Team
The Targeted Support Team deliver a wide variety of programmes to empower young people and adults to improve their confidence and skills and then progress into training and employment. Leading group sessions and individualised mentoring, the team deliver with passion and expertise to individuals from a range of backgrounds, offering person-centred guidance and support.
The Role
This is an exciting time to join CXK as we are looking to extend our work in Supported Employment. These roles will support a small caseload of individuals with a range of needs who are looking to move into work, enabling them to find the right opportunities and sustain the roles through in-work support. The coaches will also need to be skilled in working with employers to support them to make their roles accessible and sustainable. Growing and maintaining a strong employer base will be a central part of these exciting new roles.

Strengthening The Future of Macclesfield’s Heritage moves the Trust towards this vision, strengthening fundraising capacity plus staff and board skills, to provide a solid foundation for the future.
The Trust has achieved a great deal over the last 5 years, securing funding from public sources, trusts, and foundations. This newly created role will build on this success and attract substantial support from individuals and corporate sources. It involves working with internal and external stakeholders to raise funds for core funding, projects, and capital campaigns. It is envisaged that the post-holder will work with Trustees and staff to establish a Development sub-group to inform and drive this work. Strategic planning and communications are key to this. This role will drive forward new plans for individual giving, philanthropy and fundraising to significantly rebuild the Trust’s reserves.
Role:
To lead the Trust’s work towards financial resilience through broadening its income streams
To increase voluntary income from funders and philanthropists by 50%, reflating free reserves, through an ambitious Development & Fundraising Strategy
To initiate, lead, and deliver projects to develop and transform the work, premises, and staff of the Silk Museum & Paradise Mill, working with consultancy support to:

Specific Responsibilities and Duties:
Development
· Review and develop the Trust’s Development & Fundraising Strategy, identifying and pursuing fundraising opportunities, campaigns, and funding applications in line with this strategy, including:
o Trusts and foundations
o Statutory funders
o Corporate support and partnerships
o a new legacies programme, Supporters, and individual giving programmes
· Maximise income and in-kind support through fundraising activities onsite and online, including events and sponsorship, to engage current supporters and cultivate new relationships.

About the opportunity
We're in a fantastic position to have recently have partnered with the Education Endowment Foundation (EEF) for an evaluation of our programmes.
We are now recruiting for a Programme Coordinator for our schools in Birmingham.
- The Birmingham Programme Coordinator oversees a caseload of up to seven partner schools. They manage the logistics and organisation of each school’s tutoring programme, working closely with the schools and pupils and managing the pool of volunteer tutors. They attend the weekly tutoring sessions at each school, as well as overseeing the quality of face to face and online tutoring, always working to deliver a great impact.
- The Birmingham Programme Coordinator supports the recruitment of volunteer tutors, manages the tutor sign up process, develops relationships with schools including their Senior Leadership Team and subject teachers, collects data for monitoring and evaluation purposes, and works with other internal teams on business development opportunities.
Duties and responsibilities
- Responsible for the delivery of Action Tutoring’s tutoring programmes in partner schools, whether online or face to face. This includes working closely to manage all key stakeholders: schools, pupils and volunteer tutors; regularly attending weekly tutoring sessions; leading on reviewing and improving programme delivery, using data to reliably assess programme performance.
- Responsible for overseeing the quality of tutoring, engaging in quality assurance processes, and providing feedback to volunteer tutors to ensure effective and impactful delivery. Reporting regularly on key performance indicators to key stakeholders and using them to enhance programme delivery. Work with the Programme Manager on business development, approaching new schools that might be interested in working with Action Tutoring.

Overview
The DfE has nominated CST as the employer representative for academy trusts for specific purposes (for example, the school support staff negotiating body). The postholder will be required to work directly with the Department for Education at a senior level to undertake the duties associated with this employer representative role. CST also wishes to strengthen its support to members on wider matters of employer policy. There is significant scope to shape and develop this role.
Key Responsibilities

Have a detailed understanding of the terms and conditions of employment of teaching and support staff and the workforce issues affecting the education sector, particularly those influencing recruitment and retention of staff.

The ability to build relationships with key stakeholders (members, senior DfE officials and ministers) and work closely with other employer representative organisations.

Working closely with the CEO and Deputy CEO, build relationships at senior level with trade unions (leadership, teacher and support staff unions).

Lead on developing CST’s employer policy and guidance, working with our members and commanding their support and respect, and working closely with the policy team.

Support the Chief Executive, Deputy Chief Executive and Director of Public Affairs and Policy to influence and respond to government policy in respect of employer policy, including drafting responses to government consultations and being our representative on the DfE’s formally constituted groups.

Provide professional support and guidance to members on matters relating to employer policy, within the restrictions of what we are insured to do as a professional body.

Support our HR professional community.

Speak with authority at events and conferences as CST’s nominated representative on employer policy.

Offer support to the wider CST policy team in other areas that fall within the postholder’s experience or expertise. This may include occasionally deputising for other team members for example covering for annual leave or sickness absence.

Essential Skills and Experience

Likely educated to degree level (or holding a similar professional qualification or experience) with significant knowledge and experience of employment matters within the education sector and employer policy.

The ideal candidate will have experience working at senior level likely within an educational, policy or consultancy setting. Knowledge of schools and the trust sector is essential as is the ability to respond to issues in a way which conveys the practical realities of working in schools.

A sound understanding of the differences between academy trusts and the maintained sector.

Secure knowledge of legislation, regulations and policy that affect school trusts.

Authority and gravitas with the ability to speak up at meetings with senior officials with the required diplomacy and at all times with the members’ interests in mind.

The Learning and Skills Development Co-Ordinator will lead on developing a program of training, learning, volunteering and work experience for the residents of Homeless Oxfordshire that increase self esteem, engagement and motivation. You will work collaboratively and creatively across the organisation, as well as with partners, stake-holders, and the wider community. Improving community relations and help us secure support from local training providers and employers where resident participation in the wider community will help break down stigmas surrounding homelessness and addiction.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Devise and deliver a structured programme of training and education (both formal and informal) to improve our residents' skills and confidence which prepares them for the next stage of their lives.
- As part of the LEAP team work closely with the Activities Co-Ordinator to deliver a comprehensive programme of engagement, developing skills to move away from homelessness.
- Work with partners and residents to design training that is tailored to the needs of our residents.
- Develop and maintain external relationships with local training providers, organisations and employers to find various opportunities and maintain those relationships.

About LEAP
LEAP is built on the foundation of strong, supportive relationships that empower residents to move towards stable, independent living. Through one-to-one key worker support, trauma-informed care, and community engagement, residents rebuild trust, form friendships, and gain confidence. Activities like gardening, arts and crafts, and creative writing foster connection and personal growth, while group involvement helps residents feel part of a wider community. LEAP also supports residents to take steps into peer mentoring, volunteering, and training, helping them build positive networks beyond their immediate circle and develop the skills and confidence to thrive independently.
At LEAP, community involvement is at the heart of their work. Empowering residents through co-production is a key organisational goal. LEAP offer a range of inclusive engagement methods—from informal gatherings like group breakfasts and creative activities, to structured sessions such as support needs mapping and Residents’ Forums. They are enhancing resident engagement by developing a mutual support network for staff with lived experience of homelessness and/or addiction. LEAP empowers people with lived experience of homelessness and/or addiction, helping them build the confidence and skills needed to move towards independent living and employment. Over three years, the project aims to support 750 individuals. Through a wide range of engaging and meaningful activities, residents will experience positive outcomes such as increased confidence, self-esteem, and a sense of inclusion. They will build supportive networks, learn key life skills and access training, volunteering, and employment opportunities. Many will gain qualifications and secure long-term accommodation. The project strengthens peer support and enables residents to shape services through formalised Residents’ Forums, ensuring their voices influence senior decision-making. For Homeless Oxfordshire, LEAP enhances our capacity to deliver peer-led support, builds staff knowledge, and informs service improvement. Wider community benefits include reduced stigma around homelessness, stronger partnerships with employers and organisations, and improved understanding of the issues faced by our residents—ultimately contributing to a more inclusive and compassionate society.
