About the role
This role will continue to develop and deliver Allergy UK’s youth engagement initiative for our existing Youth Engagement Group for young adults living with allergies aged 18-25.
This role will also need to recruit members to a new Youth Engagement Group for young people living with allergies aged 13-17.
Owing to the nature of this role, the successful candidate, will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
We are excited to create and deliver projects focused on engaging young people who live with allergy and providing opportunities for them to have a voice and support them in raising awareness of the issues that affect their life. We are seeking young people’s participation and co-production in all activities we develop to support their needs. The role of Youth Engagement Officer will be to engage with young people across the UK, to ensure that they have the opportunities and support to shape and influence Allergy UK’s programmes and activities for young people living with allergy.
The successful individual will work to develop youth engagement opportunities which increase skills, confidence, and life chances through supporting young people living with this disease to overcome any barriers they face.
As a Youth Engagement Officer, you will have experience of working positively with young people and have a proactive nature. Organisation skills and initiative is a must as you will be the lead on our youth provision.You will be required to coordinate activities with young people such as online and in-person engagement, blogs, podcasts, learning and digital activities. In addition to this, you will need to effectively lead the young people to help them shape services for young people in the allergic community to better improve the standard of care that exists in the public, private and commercial sectors.
These activities will be centred on practice of co-production. We are looking for someone who wants to work as part of a team to engage young people, to highlight unheard voices and stories and promote progress and change through action.
Key responsibilities:
- Plan, project manage and deliver exciting new co-production projects and establish positive links with young people and promote active participation in activities.
- Provide opportunities for young people to have a voice and support them in getting involved in Allergy UK’s awareness and public affairs to influence governmental change and improve services for young people with allergy.
- Create, develop and lead on the work of the Allergy UK Youth Forum.
- Support and develop young people to become champions and ambassadors for Allergy UK.
- Work collaboratively with a range of organisations including but not exclusively schools, local government, health and youth services and youth organisations.
- Develop training and development resources for young people
- Complete all required documentation accurately and within agreed timescales to ensure that contract requirements are met
- Work alongside the Operations Director and other staff advising them of relevant issues facing children and young people.
- Develop Allergy UK’s youth engagement procedures and practice.

Youth Engagement Officer
Location: Hybrid. Expected to be in our London office in Victoria at least one day per week. You can be remote every other day or come into the office. Your office days are flexible and can be agreed with your manager, other than for monthly team days where you must be in person. Some nationwide travel expected for Youth Steering Group training days, events and conferences. After passing probation, up to six weeks ‘super remote’ working per year, where you can work anywhere in the world as long as you’re online for four hours of the UK workday.
Contract: Fixed Term Contract until 31 August 2026 with the possibility to extend.
Holidays: 38 days per year, including our 3-day winter shut down and eight flexible bank holidays.
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (full time) Please note as this role works with young people there will be occasions where your working hours will be outside the standard 9-5:30pm. This will typically be a few meetings per month that can last until 7pm and about four weekend days over the year. This is to ensure our activities fit around the young people’s education and work commitments.

This role will play a critical part in the success of taking this work forward. As the Youth Engagement Officer, you will work with our Head of Youth Engagement to ensure our Youth Steering Group can lead their own campaign activities, engage directly with decision makers, and collaborate with other young people to bring about the change they want to see. Our Youth Steering Group is made up of 25 brilliant young people, aged 14-24, who draw on their lived experience of the different barriers to accessing a fair education, to campaign for change. You will support the young people to lead their own campaign activity, write their monthly Youth Bulletin and engage directly with policy makers. You will also help the group to participate in FEA decision making, support the design and facilitation of their monthly meetings and training days, help them make progress against their personal development plans. This role will include working directly with young people, session planning and facilitation, policy research and managing logistics.
Ensure the Fair Education Youth Summit is a success and remains truly youth-led
Our Youth Steering Group design and run the annual Fair Education Youth Summit. The event is led by young people for young people and brings together young changemakers from across our membership and the wider education and youth sectors to develop their youth leadership skills, collaborate on campaigns, and engage directly with decision makers. You will support the young people to design sessions, secure speakers, embed past feedback and plan the event structure. You will also support with the event logistics, guestlist management, participant communications and collecting attendee feedback.
Support our members to improve their youth engagement practice
Our Youth Engagement Working Group supports FEA members and other sector organsiations to increase and improve their own youth engagement practice. You will support the management of logistics, promote the workshops, and communicate with working group members. You will also support the facilitation of the workshops and ensure the attendee data and feedback is correctly logged and actioned. The critical responsibilities of this role are described above. Quest for Learning is an education charity on a mission to close the gap for primary school children in Oxfordshire who are falling behind - often due to complex and compounding disadvantage. Many of the children we support are growing up in poverty, with limited access to books, low parental literacy, and challenging home environments. Some face health inequalities, live in areas affected by crime, or have recently arrived in the UK as refugees or asylum seekers.

About the role
We're looking for a dynamic, relationship-focused, and highly organised individual to oversee our teaching programmes, school partnerships, and tutor network.
This role is crucial to ensuring our programmes are high-quality, well-managed, and meeting the needs of schools. You will be the first point of contact for schools, building strong relationships with headteachers and SENCOs, and ensuring that we offer the right support at the right time.

Key responsibilities
School relationships and programme development (account management)

Safeguarding (Designated Safeguarding Lead - DSL)
- Act as the DSL for Quest for Learning (once trained) with support from the Chief Executive as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, ensuring all safeguarding policies and processes are followed.
- Train tutors in best safeguarding practices and ensure incidents are properly reported and recorded.
- Liaise with schools and external agencies where necessary.
Impact measurement & fundraising support
- Ensure a strong framework of assessment and impact measurement for pupils and our programmes.
- Analyse and collate data on programme effectiveness, reporting to the team.
- Work with the fundraiser to provide teaching-related content for funding bids and reports.
Person specification
Essential:
- Strong experience in account management, partnerships, or relationship management (preferably in education or the charity sector).
- Experience working in education or service delivery (e.g. as a teacher, tutor, or programme manager).

About Quest for Learning
Quest for Learning is an education charity on a mission to close the gap for primary school children in Oxfordshire who are falling behind - often due to complex and compounding disadvantage. Many of the children we support are growing up in poverty, with limited access to books, low parental literacy, and challenging home environments. Role Purpose
This is a hands-on and outward-facing role for a confident, capable fundraiser ready to lead Quest for Learning’s income generation efforts. As our sole dedicated fundraiser, you’ll take ownership of securing income across a broad mix of streams - including trusts and foundations, community fundraising, individual giving, and corporate partnerships.
You’ll be out and about representing the charity, building relationships with local businesses, community groups, and supporters, and bringing our mission to life with energy and clarity. This is a busy and varied role which often involves working on multiple fundraising activities at once. A typical day could include working on an application to a new funder, designing a supporter newsletter, gathering information for an end of grant report, and researching new prospects.

- The Manchester Programme Coordinator oversees a caseload of up to seven partner schools.
