As Head of IT, you will lead the strategic planning for the function, playing a pivotal role in shaping the technological landscape of the RCR, leading on all technology related matters across the RCR with the responsibility for ensuring our IT offer remains current, efficient and effective to support our mission and strategic objectives. You will also lead and motivate our reputable high-performing IT team ensuring excellent IT service support to the organisation is a constant.

What you will do:
- Lead the strategic development of the IT function.
- Provide leadership to the IT team, galvanising them around the goals.
- Develop an in-depth understanding of our internal IT and systems infrastructure to advise on business needs.
- Lead and develop the RCR’s programme and change boards to maintain effective oversight of changes to IT applications and digital services.
- Ensure the IT team delivers excellent customer service.
- Create and maintain effective IT Business Continuity (BC) and Disaster Recovery (DR) plans that ensure the RCR can respond to challenges.
- Develop, agree and manage the IT revenue and capital expenditure budgets.

- Engaging with community organisations and specialist services that provide support to ease the pathway for your clients.
- Building and maintaining relationships with primary care networks, GPs, health care professionals and services across the borough.

About the role
The main purpose of the role is to coordinate the Methodist Church’s response to the arrival of Hong Kong nationals in Great Britain.
This will involve liaising with the Methodist Church in Hong Kong and with circuits and local churches in Britain to ensure pastoral support for Hong Kong Methodists as they make the transition to this country. You will help to motivate local circuits and churches to welcome and integrate the new arrivals into congregations, and you will provide support and training to facilitate this. You will also develop connections with Cantonese-speaking groups and congregations already in existence, and may be involved in facilitating the formation of new ones. Establishing connections and fostering supportive relationships to enable an effective network that brings together Methodists from Hong Kong and British churches, is key to your role.
About you
Bilingual in written and spoken Cantonese and English and a confident communicator in both languages. You enjoy bringing people together and helping form new groups and congregations. As this role will entail working with circuits and local churches, you will need strong project management and administrative skills. You need to be both self-motivating and a strong team player. Your work will help the Church to communicate and live out Our Calling.
