About the Role:

The primary purpose of this role is to provide debt advice and money education on a case management basis and to support the provision of advice by volunteers. The post holder will be expected to manage their own cases and lead appointment sessions.

The organisation’s mission is to ‘Restore Dignity and Renew Hope’ to those in our communities brought down by poverty and debt. The job holder will play their part in bringing this vision to reality, supporting clients through what at times can be emotionally difficult situations, to get back on their feet and realise their full potential.

The role combines both technical and pastoral elements. The role will involve building a client case, untangling sometimes complex situations, liaising with creditors, providing guidance for volunteers, and discerning and communicating the appropriate choices and strategies for the client. But you will also need to lead client appointments and support clients through what at times can be emotionally difficult situations.

About you:

We are looking for someone with prior debt advice experience who ideally has experience in leading and supervising volunteers.

Essential skills and experience of the Case Manager include:

• Previous experience in providing regulated debt advice on a case management basis
• Being a DRO intermediary would be an advantage
• Demonstrable experience in providing person-focused support to clients who may be vulnerable
• Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to show empathy, compassion and patience
• Sound IT skills with a strong command of the Microsoft Office suite

About the organisation:

The organisation was established in October 2009 and saw it’s first client in January 2010. Since then, they have provided advice and support to thousands of families and individuals in difficulty. New Horizon Youth Centre has been commissioned by the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) as part of an Alliance with Safer London, St Giles Trust and the Anna Freud Centre to deliver on their Children and Young People’s Violence and Exploitation and Reduction support service. The commission will run from June 2024 for three years. As part of this, an additional service will be set up within the NHYC Youth Justice team specifically to deliver on the Alliance contract. The Services Manager will be the key operational lead for the Alliance, and oversee successful delivery of housing casework services to young people fleeing violence and exploitation who are referred in. You should have experience of working in services that support young people fleeing violence or who are impacted by the criminal justice system, and have a solid understanding of housing options for young people under 25. Training Link is recruiting a new Green Learning Coordinator who will develop and run environmental workshops for local residents in Somers Town, Camden.

The purpose of the role is to design and deliver a new Green Learning programme for Training Link and to support residents in Somers Town in their journey to becoming cleaner and greener through community engagement, training and project delivery.

About Training Link

Training Link is a small charity with nearly 40 years’ experience of supporting people in Somers Town. We offer courses for adults to help people get a job or return to work, often after a long absence. Many of our learners are reluctant to go to a large adult education college where in practice they would receive little individual support in their learning; we offer a supportive, friendly learning environment where people feel comfortable and welcomed.  Current classes include ESOL, IT and Maths. We also provide one to one sessions for those needing support around literacy. 

Purpose of the role: 

• To design and deliver new Green Learning programme for Training Link.
• To develop and run high quality, engaging, fun and interactive community-based environmental awareness classes and activities tailored to adult learners, including learners speaking English as a second language.
• To support residents in Somers Town in their journey to becoming cleaner and greener through community engagement, training and project delivery.

We are excited to be advertising the role of Psychotherapy Service Manager at Respond, to lead our team and the development of our psychotherapy services with autistic people and people with learning disabilities who have experienced trauma and their families.  Many of our clients may have experienced complex or multiple traumatic experiences including sexual violence, domestic abuse and neglect.

The Psychotherapy Service provides predominantly longer-term therapeutic support of a year or more, depending on how the work is funded, to an average of 130 unique individuals per year.  The current team of 10 are made up of 4 senior therapists (reporting to the postholder), 4 therapists and 2 honoraries in training, the majority of whom are Arts therapists and work within a psychodynamic and/or systemic model.

We welcome applications from experienced Psychodynamic Counsellor/Psychotherapists, Arts therapists, Psychologists or Family Therapists who are passionate about our work. You will work psychodynamically, champion our trauma informed approach including our reflective practice model and have the opportunity to influence and shape the development of the psychotherapy service.  Leading the small team, you will provide clinical leadership and be Safeguarding lead, ensuring we continue to provide high quality psychotherapy services.  We are offering the role at 4-5 days per week, working in a hybrid manner flexibly. You can also hold your own small case load of clients, supervisees and/or consultancy work within the role.

This is a unique and specialist role and we recognise that you may have more experience in one clinical area or client group than another, given the breadth of our work and whilst you may be experienced in working psychodynamically as a therapist and as a line manager, you may be newer to leading a service for example. Or you may have a great deal of other experience and understanding of the needs of our clients from other work.  We are flexible to develop the right candidate who is passionate about improving the lives of autistic people, people with learning disabilities and their family members.

About Evolve

The Evolve Project is a collaborative partnership between Linklaters, UBS, Societe Generale and the Societe Generale UK Foundation, delivered by ELBA. Overall, the Evolve project aims to address the wider barriers and challenges faced in society & by community organisations & charities with a particular focus on Hackney and its surrounding boroughs of Tower Hamlets & Haringey. The project does this through supporting community organisations who are addressing different barriers like post Covid recovery, and the cost-of-living crisis, alongside continuing challenges of funding & sustainability.

Evolve aims to build the capacity of thee organisations, especially supporting the leadership, so they can keep up with the increased demand they are experiencing. Evolve has been designed to dynamically respond to the changing needs of local community organisations, drawing on the time, skills and expertise of employee volunteers to address the most pressing community challenges. The project is currently in its fourth year with funding secured for the following two years.

The role requires an ability to build a close and collaborative relationship across the community sector, particularly in Hackney, as well as with the corporate funders. A key focus is developing and delivering a range of exciting employee volunteering activities (including the Leaders in Partnership and Emerging Leaders coaching programmes) as well as leading monthly delivery and quarterly steering group meetings with the three business partners to ensure volunteer engagement and session development is meeting the aims and objectives of the project.

Key Evolve duties

● Responsible for day-to-day development and delivery of the Evolve project

● Collaborate closely with community partners, corporate partners and the ELBA team to understand community needs and design appropriate employee volunteering activities to address these needs

● Deliver a range of employee volunteering opportunities focused on capacity building for local community organisations within the geographical remit

● Build and maintain strong relationships with Evolve partners’ Corporate Responsibility teams by organising regular meetings and responding promptly to company requests

● Develop and promote a range of employee volunteering opportunities to corporate partners and manage delivery of volunteer requests

● Organise delivery of monthly delivery meetings and quarterly project steering group meetings including preparation of supporting documents and minute taking

Main duties

The Programme Manager is an exciting and influential role at RCPCH Global, a specialist unit within the College, in which you will lead the management of our maternal and child health programmes in Nepal and Myanmar, with some support for our work in Rwanda. Based in our London office, you will oversee the implementation of the programmes, including the delivery of high-quality programme activities.

As Programme Manager, you will monitor and manage all financial and budgetary aspects of the programme in compliance with donor requirements and take the lead on all programme reporting to donors, maintaining and ensuring high-quality programme monitoring and evaluation processes are adhered to.

Crucially, you will be responsible for liaising with local programme counterparts and stakeholders in the field, which may include regular field visits. You will also take the lead on the recruitment and management of long-term programme volunteer clinicians, as well as short-term advisory consultants, for the programme.

In addition to wider donor liaison, you will help develop new programme grant agreements with a preliminary focus on UNICEF and the James Percy Foundation, as well as promoting RCPCH Global activities to external stakeholders.

Suitably qualified in international development, public health, international and global health, health systems strengthening and child health, or with equivalent work experience, you should have excellent project/programme management skills and have a background in a relevant international/development management or implementation role. 

With demonstrable experience of designing, initiating and leading complex programme development processes, including with senior government counterparts, local partner organisations and international and multilateral donor agencies, you should have a significant understanding of budget management and financial reporting, including to bilateral and multilateral donors.

Previous experience of successfully managing large complex programmes, including supporting field-programme teams both remotely and in the field, within the international development and/or health sectors is essential, whilst experience of working in developing countries would be desirable.

Although based in London, this role may include some travel to Nepal. Additional travel to Rwanda as part of support role may be required. 

RCPCH Global is a unit within RCPCH which designs and manages a range of international projects and programmes to improve neonatal, child and adolescent health, primarily in sub-Saharan Africa, Asia and the Middle East. Our programmes use teams of skilled clinicians and other health professionals to work with counterparts in targeted low-income countries to train and mentor doctors, nurses and other health workers, as a means of helping to build the capacity and quality of the health systems in those countries. 

The Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health sets and maintains standards for the education and training of all doctors working in paediatrics and child health in the UK. We advocate on child health issues at home and internationally. Additionally, through a variety of activities, the College influences the quality of medical practice for children in hospital and in the community. 

The RCPCH has more than 22,000 members and fellows and employs around 200 staff, most of whom work in our London office in Holborn. We have smaller offices in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

Our freelance School Engagement Officers introduce the highly impactful Breck’s story into schools and other youth and community spaces across the country and deliver inspiring, educational talks to students, parents and guardians, teachers, and other groups in a ‘whole community’ approach.

Breck Foundation is at the forefront of efforts to safeguard children and young people online. Our organisation was founded in 2014 in response to the tragic loss of Breck Bednar, a 14-year-old boy who was groomed and murdered by someone he met online. Our work aims to prevent this from ever happening again. Our work saves lives. We reach thousands of children and young people in schools and other community settings with Breck's story every year. Our talks and educational materials fill a gap in the current UK curriculum that otherwise leaves children vulnerable to online grooming and exploitation. With 98% of young people now active internet users, current and future generations grow up having to navigate new and evolving digital dangers. • Research speaking opportunities and engage/build sustainable relationships with schools and other youth spaces with the aim of securing speaking engagements (known as bookings).

About the role:

Advance delivers nationally accredited, quality marked services in Hammersmith & Fulham, Westminster and Kensington & Chelsea. We work within a coordinated partnership response to violence against women and girls in these three boroughs as part of the Angelou Partnership, within the partnership Advance provides independent domestic violence advocacy and support for women, children and young people who have experienced domestic abuse.

About You: 

To be successful as the Young Persons Advocate you will need the below experience and skills: 

The post holder will have proven experience of working with children and young people and may have a background in youth work. They will have an excellent understanding of violence against women and girls, risk management and of best practice within the young people’s sector. As an experienced youth worker who has worked with young women and girls with complex and multiple needs, the post holder will be skilled in risk management and safety and support planning, remaining calm in a crisis and in handling sensitive information on a daily basis.

Experience of direct work with young women and girls who have experienced abuse, and of working within safeguarding procedures is essential for this post, as is the need to adopt and promote a strong partnership approach to service provision.

We're looking for an IT Project Manager to join our Data and IT team. The IT Project Manager will oversee the planning, implementation and tracking of assigned IT projects within the charity. You'll be responsible for managing the project team, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget and meet quality standards. You'll serve as a liaison between various stakeholders, including clients, internal teams and vendors, to ensure effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle. You'll also identify and mitigate risks, resolve issues and provide regular progress reports to stakeholders.

Main aim of the role: 

Playing a vital role within our expanding youth support team at Future Skills, you will work to support and empower our young people to re-engage and return to education and employment. You will be creating structured lesson plans to deliver high quality soft skills sessions. You will be proactive and get involved with the pupil’s daily activities, promoting teamwork and setting a good example. You will also build positive relationships with the young people, fellow professionals, parents and carers as this is key to this role.

In addition to that, you will work with the team here at Caius House to help deliver an after-school programme for young people, usually one evening per week. To this effect, you will work with both the FST team and the team on-site at Caius House. 

You will be joining a vibrant team that is committed to our young people's social and educational development. We give our team all the opportunities to be creative with the work that we do. We are an expanding organisation that is moving towards further growth in the alternative provision sector.

The post holder will be responsible for: 

• Working with colleagues to develop a soft skills curriculum for our group and one to one sessions.

• Actively participating in the sessions we deliver including off-site trips and sporting activities.

• Undertaking one-to-one and small group mentoring with vulnerable and at-risk young people aged 8-16 years old.

• Working with the FST team delivering personal and social development workshops with excluded young people, encouraging them to engage and develop and challenging negative behaviours.

• Building relationships and regularly communicating with parents/carers and professionals.

• Building positive relationships with children and young people with social, emotional and mental health needs, inspiring and motivating them, acting as a positive role model at all times.

• Bringing passion, ideas, creativity, energy and strategies to all projects.

• Demonstrating understanding of the issues faced by children and young people.

• Keeping accurate records of attendance and session evaluations using our online database system.

• Having an active role in our regular team meetings.

• Complying with the organisational requirements for health and safety, child protection, safeguarding and other policies and procedures.

The post holder should possess:
 

• Previous experience of working with vulnerable, at risk and disengaged children and young people 

• A passion for building relationships with children and young people and helping them grow and develop.

• Experience of building partnerships with other organisations and communicating with professionals as well as parents and carers

• Knowledge of formal and informal education systems.
