This is an exciting opportunity for Advocates to join and shape this service covering Clydebank. About this key role
A key member of the St Giles Yorkshire team, as well as our Central SOS+ team, you’ll be responsible for developing and delivering 1-2-1 educational sessions to children and young people on topics such as grooming, weapons awareness, the reality of prison, gangs, county lines and child sexual exploitation. You’ll also need to work closely with partner agencies and attend multi-agency meetings and support the design and development of new sessions and materials. All the while, you’ll be supported by a Peer Advisor with lived experience of adverse experiences linked to exploitation, county lines or prison.
What we are looking for
- Experience of engaging with challenging children and young people, e.g., those with complex needs, who are reluctant to discuss their needs or who are angry and confused
- A track record gained working with socially excluded children, young people and adults, including delivering/facilitating sessions to groups – especially socially excluded children and young people in schools or similar settings
- Knowledge of gangs, knife crime and patterns of offending in West Yorkshire or a similar area, plus a proven ability to negotiate and network with partner agencies to establish links to further the aims of a project
- An Education and Training and/or Mentoring Level 3 qualification, or similar, or a willingness to work towards this
- A flexible and collaborative approach, a positive attitude, emotional resilience, confidence when speaking in front of a group and a flair for planning sessions using a variety of resources

Working as an integral part of the ED Navigator team, our successful candidate will identify and assess young victims of violence and provide a comprehensive and holistic assessment, advice, referral and support service, exploring innovative and effective ways of supporting them which will reduce their risk of re-victimisation.
You will produce support and risk management plans based on assessments, promoting inter-agency collaboration in the assessment and planning process, and deliver a holistic support service, working solo or with colleagues as the situation dictates, which will include providing practical help such as social and housing support, accompanying to appointments, ETE options and appearing in court. Women at the Well is a support service for women based in the King’s Cross area of central London. We provide practical support and advocacy to women facing a wide range of disadvantages, and we have a specialism in working with women whose lives have been affected by prostitution and/or sexual exploitation. We are trauma informed, holistic and woman-centred. We deliver our mission through three interconnected services:
1. A women only drop-in service
2. An advocacy service
3. An outreach service

The Head of Services role is critical to leading the delivery of the best possible support to the women who use our services. Main duties:
· Preparation for, delivery of and pack down of drop-ins including cleaning, food and drink preparation and room layout.
· Creating a welcoming and judgement-free environment for our clients
· Planning and delivering activities for clients including art, wellbeing, games, Bible studies and other activities. Where required, liaising with external group facilitators.
· Completing relevant administrative tasks including writing case notes and sending reminders to women.
· To provide emotional (listening) support to women. This may take place within the context of group activities or one to one settings, including face-to-face appointments, phone calls, texts, emails, meetings in the community or home visits.
· To provide practical support, including supporting women with making phone calls and filling in forms, applying for grants, accompanying women to appointments and meetings, researching information, signposting and advocacy-style support.
· By drawing on your own Christian faith, to offer Christian support to women, within the Christian culture and ethos of OTF. This may take place in group or one-to-one settings.
· Providing goal based one-to-one support for clients and supporting with applications, referrals and other needs identified
· Meeting the practical needs of our clients by supporting with food and distribution of essential items
· Identifying any wellbeing or safeguarding needs that need further action or support
· Leading and participating in Bible studies, prayer time and other faith-based activities in the centre
Key attributes and experience required for the role:

The Gateway Programme at Off The Fence is dedicated to empowering women facing crisis, emotional hardship, or practical difficulties. Our Gateway Women’s Centre is a trauma-informed safe space where our support team offer confidential, one-to-one emotional, practical, and spiritual support. Through drop-ins, an essentials bank, and referrals, we equip women to confidently navigate life’s challenges.
Our goal-based workshops and wellness sessions provide opportunities for personal development while creating moments of joy and belonging. By breaking cycles of isolation, restoring self-agency, and connecting women to strong support networks,
Gateway empowers women to rebuild their lives. Whether through restorative care, discipleship sessions, or access to external services, women supported can step into a future of stability, community, and hope.

Working at Off the Fence

This is an opportunity to join Refuge as a Refuge Worker to provide high quality practical and emotional support to survivors of domestic violence and their children living in our refuges.This includes safety planning and enabling women to access housing, welfare, benefits, and legal advice. About the role
This is an exciting opportunity for Advocates to join and shape this service covering Glasgow area. Your role will require you to travel to locations such as clients’ homes and within community settings across the area to meet with clients and professionals. You will be home based for administration; therefore, access to your own transportation and a suitable home internet connection is essential.
About you
Desirably you will have some experience of working in advocacy, or providing welfare, supporting, or caring for Adults who have support needs, ideally for those with a variety of communication needs, mental ill health, physical health issues, or barriers to accessing support.

How are staff supported to work remotely?
VoiceAbility has a small number of offices. Employees including Team Leaders are homebased for Administration and meetings will be held online as well as in person in the relevant community.
When you need to travel for work, expenses will be paid (mileage or public transport costs).
VoiceAbility offers the usual regular manager one to ones, Staff forums and communities of practice depending on role. Team meetings with a mix of virtual and in person approach.
