The role

About the Role

The position is permanent and part-time. It is for 3 days per week, for the right candidate. The postholder must be available to work one Saturday a month. A normal working week is 21 hours (3 days per week) to be worked between 09:30am to 5:30pm weekdays. There may be an opportunity to work from home once a week after probationary period.

The main tasks of the role include: maintaining effective communication and correspondence with our vulnerable young clients and booking appointments; overseeing and updating our case management system; administrative financial work, costs billing and creating invoices; and general administrative duties including filing, scanning, shredding, archiving, photocopying, creating e-bundles, preparing and taking post to the post office, completing forms, and requesting subject access disclosure and other information from third parties.

The role also requires the administrator to support, where necessary, the day-to-day administrative management of the office and PRCBC operations. This includes liaising with external stakeholders across a range of areas such as IT support and building management; supporting the maintenance and updating of operational procedures and practices; and completing ad-hoc administrative tasks, such as office supply procurement, as required.

To work effectively at PRCBC, it is necessary for the administrator to closely follow instructions, retain a professional approach throughout, and be highly focused and well organised, with excellent attention to detail.

Due to the varied nature of PRCBC’s work, the administrator participates in many aspects of the management, administrative and legal process, and interacts with a wide range of individuals, from solicitors and barristers to social workers and foster parents, alongside frequently vulnerable young clients and their carers. The administrator is therefore expected to manage a varied and evolving workload. The right candidate will have an initiative-taking mindset, be highly adaptable and willing and able to take initiative in daily operations.

The Finance & Governance team handle all matters concerning Diocesan and Cathedral finance including the administration and collection of parish share, paying invoices and expenses, budgeting, annual statutory, management accounts, clergy stipends, staff salaries, advice to parishes on parochial finance matters. 

This role covers the full range of work in an accounting system dealing with input to and output from all ledgers with specific responsibility for the administration of parish shares and fees including the issuing of regular statements to parishes. As our Befriending Service Coordinator, you will lead the further development and coordination of our befriending offer, working closely with volunteers and service users. Your work will help provide a supportive, connected service enabling those at risk of isolation to feel connected and engaged with others.

What you’ll do:

• Lead the delivery of our individually tailored befriending service, supporting clients to reconnect to community and reduce isolation.
• Work with the other teams to support your clients in accessing our wider services and support, including social activities.
• Build strong partnerships with local groups and services across health, social care and the voluntary sector.
• Use and support the team of existing befriending linked volunteers and develop further recruitment and training as needed.

Who you are:
You have experience working in older people services or the voluntary sector, and a deep understanding of the challenges faced by older people. You’re proactive, organised, and passionate about delivering person-centred support that makes a real difference.

Creative Support have a new position available for an Internal Auditor. You will work as part of a small team to oversee the proper governance of financial compliance across the organisation, both within our care services across the country and our head office departments.

This will include:

• Conducting proactive internal finance audits of social care services.

• Conducting proactive internal finance audits of head office departments.

• Conducting reactive fraud and financial abuse investigations.

• Contributing to policy reviews surrounding both client and corporate finances.

• Conducting finance training.

• Working on the continuous improvement of systems relating to both corporate and client finances.

• Developing fraud awareness campaigns across the organisation.

We are looking for candidates with a high level of self-motivation and excellent organisation skills to join our Investors In People team, who are also Made in Manchester Awards Team of The Year 2024. You will have a strong work ethic and the ability to form relationships across the organisation. 

It is essential that you have a high level of numeracy and written communication, including effective report writing and a sensitive approach to providing feedback. You will also be able to carry out training with small groups and appropriately manage financial investigations should these be required.

This is a very varied role with the opportunity to really develop your skills and to impact on the organisation at a strategic level. Training and ongoing support will be provided. Travel will be required, including some overnight stays. This is paid for by the organisation and subject to flexibility approved by your line manager. A full driving licence is preferred but not essential.
