About the LSE Students’ Union
LSE Students' Union (LSESU) is a £5.6m not-for-profit organisation for LSE students. We've been part of the LSE community since 1897, and all LSE students automatically become LSESU members when they enrol.
We exist to:
- Support students holistically in terms of their academic and student experience, serving as an independent source of advice and advocacy.
- Help students shape and lead their own academic and student experience by providing opportunities that foster connection and engagement, building their skills and future careers.
- Use our influence to forge and create change in the interests of students within the institution, the community, and wider society, by empowering the students themselves.
We are emerging from a change programme which has seen us significantly enhance our culture, governance, and partnerships. We are proud to have positive morale internally, with 93% of staff feeling they are trusted and well respected at work. We have enhanced our Trustee board and enjoy a great level of support and engagement from Trustees.
Our new approach to building partnerships with LSE is working exceptionally well, including investing in dedicated partnerships management roles within our staff structure. We are also excited to be opening a newly refurbished commercial offer in the very near future.

About the role:
Join Imperial College London as an Alumni Engagement Events Officer and help shape the future of alumni engagement at a world-leading university. You’ll lead a dynamic global events programme that connects over 260,000 alumni, including scientists, engineers, medics and business leaders, through impactful experiences that strengthen Imperial’s global community.
Based in the Advancement Division, you’ll work with senior leaders and stakeholders to deliver events that support Imperial’s bold Science for Humanity strategy and a major decade-long fundraising and engagement campaign.
What you would be doing:
As Alumni Events Officer, you’ll lead a diverse and high-profile events programme, from presidential receptions and international gatherings to career-focused networking and partner-led initiatives. You’ll plan strategically, collaborate creatively, and deliver with excellence at the heart.
Managing resources and guiding an Events Coordinator, you’ll oversee every stage of the event lifecycle, ensuring alignment with Imperial’s engagement and fundraising goals. From shaping content to working with senior stakeholders and volunteers, your role will be central to our global alumni experience.
What we are looking for:
We’re looking for an experienced events professional to lead a diverse programme of high-profile alumni events. You will:
- Oversee the planning and delivery of on-campus, off-campus, and online events.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders, including senior leaders and alumni.
- Manage and support the Alumni Engagement and Events Coordinator.
- Ensure consistent branding and coordination across teams and departments.
- Report on event performance and drive improvements based on feedback.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced strategic lead to drive the next phase of our Right to Health campaign. This new role will work with our experienced and well respected team and our extensive network, to make the political case for the better legal recognition and real-world protection for the right to health.
An ideal candidate
You will be a passionate and experienced advocate for health, human, social or environmental rights, committed to driving meaningful change in the UK. You will bring proven expertise in leading policy, advocacy, or parliamentary engagement work - ideally within health, human rights, social or environmental justice sectors - and thrive in building strong, strategic relationships with government, civil society, and community stakeholders.
You have a good understanding of the structural causes of health inequality and the power of human rights frameworks to address them. You will know how the UK political and parliamentary systems work, and you are skilled at influencing these processes through clear, compelling narratives backed by evidence.
You are able to communicate with clarity and impact, tailoring your message to diverse audiences - from policymakers to grassroots activists. You are confident working independently and collaboratively within a small, flexible team, balancing strategic vision with practical delivery. Your approach is solutions-focused, inclusive, and grounded in the lived realities of people affected by health inequalities.
Most importantly, you are motivated by the opportunity to join a dynamic and well respected organisation and lead a strategic campaign that challenges the status quo and contributes to a fairer, more just UK.
