African women in business face challenges such as the gender gap in high-level positions, limited access to quality education, and a lack of supportive mentorship networks. Traditional learning lacks the flexibility and collaboration that women require to grow.
Pan African Women Empowerment Network (PAWEN) strategically addresses challenges faced by African women through several cohort-based programs. The "Aspiring Entrepreneurs Program" guides them to establish and expand successful businesses through masterclasses, expert coaching, and peer learning. "TechUp Africa" nurtures young talents with scholarships, mentorship, hackathons, and partnerships offering internships and job placements. Furthermore, "Onboard Her" prepares senior female leaders for board roles, enhancing their success as board members. These initiatives, complemented by continuous "lunch and learn" sessions, create a rich ecosystem where African women can develop competence, confidence, and connections to excel in their respective fields. By offering this cohort-based learning, mentoring, coaching, and vibrant online communities, PAWEN empowers African women with the skills, confidence, and connections they need, driving positive change and fostering a culture where they can lead, innovate, and make a lasting impact.
