Roots Academy exists to bridge this gap by providing a structured and transformative Islamic education that speaks directly to the needs and challenges of young Muslims today, delivered in an engaging and accessible form that removes barriers to access and provokes thought and action.
Role Summary.
As a QA Reviewer at Roots Academy, you'll work closely with Regional Leads and the QA team to help maintain and raise the quality of teaching across our programmes. Your role is to support our instructors by regularly observing lessons, offering constructive feedback, and encouraging their continued growth and development.
Your input will help ensure that students benefit from lessons that are clear, engaging, and rooted in sound educational practice.
Key tasks
· Observe lessons via site visits or submitted video recordings throughout the semester.
· Use standardised forms to assess lesson quality and highlight key strengths and areas that could be improved.
· Offer honest and practical feedback, using real examples to guide instructors toward better practice.
· Work alongside Regional Leads to deliver feedback at set points in the semester and support instructor development conversations.
· Attend feedback meetings and take notes to track progress and follow-up actions.
· Recommend helpful activities for instructors, such as shadowing experienced colleagues, team teaching, or reviewing their own lessons.
· Keep track of instructors needing additional support by scheduling follow-up visits or reviewing new lesson recordings.
· Make sure feedback is received, understood, and followed up with clear next steps.
· Raise any serious concerns or ongoing issues with the Regional Lead or relevant team members.

Since launching in March 2016 we have worked with over 10,000 young people across the UK, delivering fun, engaging and dynamic workshops and programmes to inspire young people to become the best version of themselves. Following a period of growth and reflection, we are embarking on the journey to establish our own charity.
The new charity will become a platform for us to grow our reach and impact, delivering more transformational programmes for young people.
We are looking for exceptional candidates to join our Trustee Board, providing strategic guidance and oversight during this crucial transition.
Trustee Duties and Responsibilities
- Support and provide advice on 2-3 Degrees Legacy CIO’s purpose, vision, goals and activities.
- Approve operational strategies and policies, and monitor and evaluate their implementation.
- Oversee 2-3 Degrees Legacy CIO’s financial plans and budgets and monitor and evaluate progress.
- Ensure the effective and efficient administration of the organisation.
- Contribute to regular reviews of 2-3 Degrees Legacy CIO’s own governance.
- Attend Board meetings, adequately prepared to contribute to discussions.
- Ensure that key risks are being identified, monitored and controlled effectively.
- Harness personal and professional networks to support our fundraising strategy.
- Keep abreast of changes in 2-3 Degrees Legacy CIO’s operating environment.
- Use independent judgement, acting legally and in good faith to promote and protect 2-3 Degrees Legacy CIO’s interests, to the exclusion of their own personal and/or any third party interests.
- Contribute to the broader promotion of 2-3 Degrees Legacy CIO’s objectives, aims and reputation by applying your skills, expertise, knowledge and contacts.

2-3 Degrees Legacy CIO is committed to developing and supporting our Trustees throughout their time on the Board, from initial induction to training and mentoring.
Time commitment

Trustees are volunteers. You should be able to commit at least half day a month (4 hours) to support the work of the charity. This will include keeping abreast of the work of the charity through reading staff reports and attending Trustee Board meetings four times a year, responding to emails and providing advice and support to staff as necessary. In addition, you should be able to attend at least one full Board Development Day per year.

Alongside this, Trustees are expected to have a passion for the 2-3 Degrees mission and engaging with young people, this should be reflected (but not limited to) attending a minimum of 2 workshops per year to stay engaged with the impact of the organisation and its key events.

Training Link, a small friendly charity based in Somers Town, near the British Library, is looking for a new trustee to join our Board.
Becoming a trustee for Training Link is an exciting and fulfilling role. The role of a trustee is to ensure that our charity fulfils its duty to its beneficiaries through contributing to the strategic development, effective governance and financial management of the organisation.
About Training Link
Training Link is a small and welcoming charity based in the St Pancras and Somers Town ward of the London Borough of Camden where 18% of residents have no qualifications. We provide a range of IT training, accredited vocational training, employability support, ESOL, one to one literacy support and advice and advocacy, mainly around benefits and immigration. The aim is to help people gain employment or to move on to further education, training or volunteering.
Training Link is a registered charity No 1051662 and a company limited by guarantee. It is a well-established organisation, set up forty years ago and with a good local reputation.
Our Team
There is a staff team of six, mainly working part time for one or two days per week. There are six regular volunteers and a further twelve or so volunteers providing ESOL (English as a second language) support. Training Link is run by a Management Committee consisting of the Trustees, Director and three Management Committee members.
The role of a Trustee
Training Link is governed by a Management Committee which currently consists of five Trustees and three others who support the Trustees. The management committee members make sure that the charity does what it was set up to do and that it is run effectively. The management committee meets approximately every two months. In between meetings there are smaller sub-groups which meet to address specific tasks such as finance and fundraising.
The trustees are legally responsible for overall management and decision-making and must act with integrity, openness and honesty. They need to be willing to give their time to take an active part in running Training Link and they must be committed to Training Link’s diversity and inclusion policy and practice. All trustees are expected to attend at least 75% of Management Committee meetings per year.
Reimbursement of expenses
Trustees and Management Committee members can be reimbursed for expenses such as travel linked to Training Link activities but will not be paid simply for being a Trustee or for carrying out tasks for Training Link.
Becoming a Trustee

The first step is an informal conversation with Training Link’s Director. You will be given an overview of our current work and will be given further information about our governance, policies and financial situation.
The second step is a formal interview with trustees which will take place in September. If selected, you will be invited to join our Management Committee and will receive a proper induction from both the Director and the Chair of the Board.
You will also be required to give your permission for us to apply for a DBS check for you and you must let us know if you joining us would involve any conflict of interest.

While being a trustee does involve time and commitment, the satisfaction and sense of achievement that you gain from the role more than makes up for this. We do make a real difference to people’s lives through improving their confidence and skills and providing the opportunity to get accredited qualifications. And of course, being a charity trustee can open the door to other opportunities.

We are a large Sea Cadet unit, who also have Royal Marines Cadets and Junior Sea Cadets (aged 10-12).
Our largest section is the Sea Cadets. They are aged 12-18. Cadets take part in many activities, events and competitions. The volunteer instructors teach and deliver these experiences, to suit their own knowledge and skillsets.
Our volunteers are excellent at sharing their knowledge with new adults that would like to have a go and see what we're all about.
Our command and management teams are keen to welcome new adults to the organisation and is grateful for the time everyone puts in.
As adult volunteers, you will gain a new friendship group, much support in learning new content, teaching experience with support, National Governing Body qualifications/awards, that are widely recognised. For example First Aid at Work and RYA Level 2 Powerboat Handling (driving licence), plus many others.

They provide both an academic and therapeutic programme to enable their students to get back on track and reconnect with society. Heartwood House has been delivering services in NW London for 20 years. They have supported many students in their return to mainstream education, further education and employment. They work with many local authorities such as Harrow, Hillingdon, Hertfordshire, Brent, Ealing, Barnet, Camden and many more.
Heartwood House (based in Harrow) is now looking to strengthen its Board and we are seeking a Company Secretary and named Trustee for Governance and Law – you will bring insight and understanding of charity law, Charity Commission legal regulations, Company Legislation and best practice.
Trustees have a duty to ensure that the charity is well run, solvent, legally compliant, and working towards the charitable purpose for which it was established, and Trustee roles are an important and a highly rewarding way to support an organisation. Please note that Trustee roles are unremunerated voluntary positions, although reasonable travel expenses will be paid.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated development professional with 2-3 years’ of experience to contribute to impactful conservation work in one of Madagascar’s most biodiverse regions. SEED’s conservation programme supports communities bordering the island’s last remaining littoral forests, focusing on reforestation, biodiversity research and conservation action through community-led, participatory approaches.
You will play a key role in developing, funding, reporting on, and evaluating these initiatives, working closely with both national and international staff. The role is ideal for someone with in-field experience and a strong interest in forest conservation and reforestation. You'll collaborate with our national implementation teams to manage donor relationships, ensure high-quality proposals and reports, maintain compliance and support effective budget management.

Core Duties

Support Junior Programme Officers and interns in compiling funding proposals based on past evaluation, team discussion and international best practice in an engaging and professional manner

Support Junior Programme Officers and interns in writing project reports that clearly demonstrate the successes and challenges of the projects, learning from the project and providing clear budgetary information

Provide first-stage editing of all proposals and reports across the Department to a high standard and providing detailed, constructive feedback to interns and Officers

Support in the management of donor compliance across several projects, working with the Programme Manager and the implementation team to ensure that project milestones are being met

Work alongside the Programme Manager and Head of Department in problem-solving and providing additional support in line with emerging issues from project implementation

Manage pieces of long-term project work that require a higher level of expertise and experience across the Department

Support in the recruitment of new staff and provide support, management, review and professional development to your team of Programme Interns, Junior Officers and specialists

Foster essential cross-cultural collaboration, providing support to both the national and international teams to bridge gaps in understanding and priorities for project development and implementation

Provide pastoral care, guidance and act as a role model, both professionally and personally, for a team of early career professionals living in country

Work alongside the Head of Department, Programme Manager and Head of Finance in developing and managing the budgets relating to projects

Develop and update resources to support project development processes, including proposal and budget templates and style guidelines

Assist MEL specialists in developing MEL tools and analysing data, including the writing of MEL reports when needed

Support the development of project development procedures, guidelines and trainings and provide project-specific information to inform policy development across the organisation

Work with the Junior Programme Officers and interns to ensure that statistics, research, funding trackers, photo database and handovers relating to the projects are accurate

Oversee the project-specific website and social media content

Work with the national team and external partners in increasing their skills and capacity, providing mentoring or training where appropriate

Take an active role in project management meetings, leading discussions and standing in for the Programme Manager where appropriate

Form part of the team representing projects or SEED when required

Liaise closely with the UK team in London ensuring clear communication at all times

Ensure all of SEED’s policies and procedures are evident throughout the work of the department, including those for safeguarding, whistleblowing and anticorruption, and undertake continual training to ensure these are promoted at all times

Person specification

Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience in conservation, ideally with a focus on reforestation or forest ecology

At least two years’ experience with similar programmes

Minimum of 2 years’ professional experience of securing funding, project management, donor compliance and donor reporting

Familiarity with the use of project management tools including Logical Frameworks, Theory of Change models, Budgets, Activity Plans and Monitoring & Evaluation frameworks

Fluency in written and spoken English with excellent written communication skills, to the level of editing English documents for publication to a very high standard

Excellent proposal and report writing and editing skills, with previous experience compiling project proposals and reports and the ability to tailor written information to various audiences

Demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to SEED’s ethos and approach and be a good ambassador for the organisation at all times
