EI&P is a multidisciplinary team that provides advocacy and counselling to CYP survivors of VAWG, as well as education and training to CYP, parents, and professionals.

About the role

The EI&P Volunteer will support the team, with particular focus on the development and update of educational programmes and resources for POW and Community Engagement. This will include: 

• Support research into new legislation and literature to ensure our programmes are up to date. 

• Support the creation of educational resources including presentations, learning booklets, leaflets, etc. 

• Support development of session plans. 

• Support the development of feedback and programme evaluation tools.

• Ensuring programmes and resources are accessible to a wide range of audiences and needs. 

• Supporting other members of the team. 

• Identifying and reaching out to relevant external professionals to raise awareness of our services and referral pathway.

Who are we looking for?

• Knowledge of HRSE

• Some previous experience developing educational materials. 

• Some previous research experience. 

• Some previous facilitation experience.

• Expert use of Office packages, including PowerPoint, Publisher, or comparable platforms.

• Passionate about education as a key to change VAWG narratives. 

• Clear Understanding of VAWG issues, intersectional feminism, and handling of sensitive information, confidentiality, safeguarding.

Obuyisi bw’Omu Initiative 

Obuyisi bw’Omu Initiative empowers underserved communities in Uganda—particularly women, youth, and children—through grassroots action, advocacy, and partnerships. Project Manager

Volunteer Role Description (remote, unpaid)

Obuyisi Bw'omu Initiative is seeking a dedicated Project Management Volunteer to support the planning, coordination, and delivery of our programs in Mental Health, WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Health), Quality Education, and Climate Resilience. This is a remote/virtual volunteer role. The volunteer will play a key role in ensuring that all projects are well-structured, delivered on time, and aligned with our mission to create sustainable impact in the communities we serve.

Key Responsibilities Program Planning & Coordination: Develop project workplans, timelines, and activity schedules across all thematic areas (Mental Health, WASH, Education, Climate Resilience). Project Monitoring: Track progress of ongoing programs, identify gaps or risks, and recommend solutions. Documentation & Reporting: Maintain project records, compile activity reports, and prepare brief updates for internal and external stakeholders. Stakeholder Communication: Liaise virtually with partners, community representatives, and team members to ensure effective collaboration. Resource Management Support: Assist in organizing project resources, including digital tools, volunteers, and partner contributions. Knowledge Sharing: Contribute to lessons learned and best practices to strengthen program delivery and organizational impact. Support Grant/Proposal Inputs (if applicable): Provide project information and frameworks that can be used in donor proposals or reports.

We have an exciting opportunity to become a Trustee and / or Governor and be part of team who really do change children’s lives.

The Charity runs an SEMH School, and we are seeking several volunteers to join our current team of Trustees and Governors.

We would be very interested to speak to you if you share our passion about our Charity and have a genuine interest in the welfare, care and development of children with social, emotional, or mental health consideration.

· Take a strategic role on the Board, holding the Senior Management Team (SMT) to the ethos and principles of the Charity in line with its founding documents.

· Provide challenge in a measured and open way.

Governors will be concerned with the school only.

Volunteers can opt to be both a Trustee and a Governor, or just one or the other.

These roles are voluntary; however, the Charity does require a level of commitment for the role. Our Trustees and Governors meet up to 4 evenings per year for full Board / Governor meetings. Role Summary.

As a QA Reviewer at Roots Academy, you'll work closely with Regional Leads and the QA team to help maintain and raise the quality of teaching across our programmes. Your role is to support our instructors by regularly observing lessons, offering constructive feedback, and encouraging their continued growth and development.

Your input will help ensure that students benefit from lessons that are clear, engaging, and rooted in sound educational practice.

Key tasks

· Observe lessons via site visits or submitted video recordings throughout the semester.

· Use standardised forms to assess lesson quality and highlight key strengths and areas that could be improved.

· Offer honest and practical feedback, using real examples to guide instructors toward better practice.

· Work alongside Regional Leads to deliver feedback at set points in the semester and support instructor development conversations.

· Attend feedback meetings and take notes to track progress and follow-up actions.

· Recommend helpful activities for instructors, such as shadowing experienced colleagues, team teaching, or reviewing their own lessons.

· Keep track of instructors needing additional support by scheduling follow-up visits or reviewing new lesson recordings.

· Make sure feedback is received, understood, and followed up with clear next steps.

· Raise any serious concerns or ongoing issues with the Regional Lead or relevant team members.

The Charity’s main activity is the publication of INTEREST, a journal which comes out every 6 weeks to coincide with Bank of England Monetary Policy Committee meetings.

Our volunteer Learning Hosts support the work of the Learning and Engagement team, ensuring school visits to the RAF Museum run smoothly and enjoyably for students and teachers alike.

Every year RAF Museum welcomes over 40,000 students at our London site in Hendon. The Learning and Engagement team host self-guided and structured school visits as well as various learning events during school holidays. Our Volunteer Learning Hosts help us to engage and inspire young visitors with RAF stories and ensure that their visit is unforgettable.

What will I be doing?

You will be assisting the Learning and Engagement team to

• Meet school groups on arrival, and provide itinerary and site orientation,

• Be a point of contact for teachers and adult helpers throughout the visit,

• Ensure the smooth passage of school groups around the Museum,

• Set-up, restock and pack-down activities

We're looking for new Trustees to join the board of our award winning educational charity that has been turning primary school classrooms around the UK into 'pop-up' art galleries for over thirty years.  As part of our board you will help shape the approach the charity will take and its future direction.  

Magic Lantern workshops give children the opportunity to explore, discuss and bring to life famous art works, and discover the world of art from cave paintings to Cubism, Gothic to graffiti, and Turner to the Turner Prize. Our approach is designed to particularly help children who have not previously had the opportunity to engage with the arts or who might be reticent to participate in traditional lessons.  Our sessions are interactive and have elements of drama, soundscape, slow looking, problem solving and creative writing.  

We operate in several parts of England including London, the South East, the South West, the North East and Oxfordshire. We work with over 12,000 children each year and in 2019 were awarded with a JM Barrie Members' Award by Action for Children's Arts. 

We are currently looking for three new trustees to add fresh voices to our board, strengthen our collective skillset and plan for our future.  We want people who share our values and vision, are passionate about education and art, and can act as ambassadors for our work in schools.

We hold online trustee meetings four times a year on a weekday evening.  This is a voluntary role but the charity will pay for out-of-pocket expenses e.g. for travel to any in-person trustee meetings or events.  The post is a fixed term of three years with the possibility of a second term. Any successful applicant will be asked to apply for an Enhanced DBS check in the child workforce and their appointment is conditional until the full enhanced disclosure has been received by the charity. 

It is not necessary to have previous trustee, board or committee experience as training will be provided, and you do not need to have a background in education or the arts to be eligible for this role.  We would very much like our board of Trustees to look more like our community and would particularly welcome applications from underrepresented groups.

Specific Tasks

• To ensure smooth running of the bursary applications process for recipients, delivery partners and the bursary administrator
• To oversee applications where required, approving invoices and tracking budgets
• To monitor and refine the bursaries criteria and process to ensure the Trust is targeting bursaries effectively
• To work with the Bursary Administrator to assist with individual applications, refer approvals to the board where required, check and approve invoices
• To work with the Treasurer to monitor and report spend against budget
• To work with the Music Education Trustee to ensure that the criteria and process for CKTs bursaries maximises CKT’s impact
• To work with the marketing and communications manager to provide details of bursary recipients for newsletters
• To work with the CKT board and delivery partners (Surrey Arts and other music lesson providers) to identify and implement any process changes
• To work with other partner organisations (Future Talent, AYM) to agree and monitor bursaries offered

• Ensure that Bromley Experts by Experience uses its resources (financial and otherwise) effectively and efficiently to deliver its charitable purposes
• Manage risks responsibly, avoiding exposing Bromley Experts by Experience to unnecessary risk and taking appropriate steps to mitigate risks
• Make decisions about Bromley Experts by Experience’s policies and strategies
• Be an ambassador for Bromley Experts by Experience, promoting our work and values

What we ask of you:

• Trustee Board Members should expect to serve for a minimum of 12 months.
• Trustee Board Members are required to attend scheduled meetings with some ad hoc meetings where necessary.
• It is anticipated that the time commitment will be an approximate average 1.5 hours per week. This will mainly comprise of:
  • Board meeting attendance (plus preparation and minutes) every 8 weeks.
  • AGM attendance (plus preparation and minutes)
  • Supporting our annual Disability Pride event.
  • Occasional scheduled meetings with senior staff and/or Chair.
• As we are a very small charity, there could be occasions when extra time will be required (e.g. during the planning of new projects or dealing with any particular difficulties that arise), or where additional support would be appreciated (e.g. attending events, meeting members at project days)

Key Skills and Qualities:

• Lived Experience of disability (can be self-identified)
• A belief that Disabled people can and should be actively welcomed and included in our communities. An understanding that it is barriers in society that make that harder. This is called the Social Model of Disability.
• Strong organisational skills.
• Experience of how Trustee Boards operate and of effective charity governance
• Accuracy and efficiency with an eye for detail.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills, communicating in a way that is accessible to you.
• Possess and demonstrate integrity, objectivity, accountability, and honesty.
• An effective team worker, contributing an independent perspective.
• Understanding of the legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of trusteeship and the financial aspects of running a charity.
• A genuine interest in local communities and people.
• Commitment to Bromley Experts by Experience’s aims, objectives and values.

You must be legally eligible to stand as a registered Company Director and Charity Trustee. Having had previous experience as a trustee of a voluntary organisation is an advantage.

We require a DBS Check to be completed for all Trustees.

We are especially seeking trustees with expertise in one or more of the following areas:

• Fundraising Strategy
• Human Resources
• Legal and Policy
• Organisational Strategy
• Secondary and Further Education

What we mean by lived experience of disability:

As we follow the Social Model of Disability, our definition of Disabled person includes anyone who is being discriminated against or disabled by barriers in society, including:

• People with physical impairment
• People with visual impairment
• Deaf people
• People with hearing impairment
• People who are neurodivergent
• People with learning difficulties/disabilities
• People who experience mental health conditions/mental distress
• People with long-term health conditions

We recognise that a lot of these impairments are invisible and many people have more than one impairment.
