We’re proud to partner with Great Ormond Street Hospital to be the transport provider to the Children’s Acute Transport Service (CATS) and we’re looking for passionate, dedicated Emergency Ambulance Crews to support this service. You’ll work alongside the clinical teams from CATS to respond to, stabilise and transport critically unwell children between Intensive Care Units across London and surrounding areas.
The Children’s Acute Transport Service (CATS) is a paediatric critical care transport team serving around 50 hospitals in the North Thames, Essex, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and East Anglia. St John Ambulance CATS have a longstanding relationship dating nearly 20 years and together we respond to, stabilise and transport critically unwell children between Intensive Care Units across London and the surrounding counties.
Together, we are one of the largest specialist paediatric transport services in Europe and move 1,200 critically ill children a year by road and air. The CATS team take the skills of a paediatric intensive care unit ‘on the road’, to the bedside of critically ill children where it is needed.
Our small but effective team of Emergency Ambulance Crew (EAC) are co-located with the Trust’s clinical team on the Great Ormond Street Hospital site where they plan and respond to thousands of requests to support unwell children each year. Functioning as a truly embedded team, our EACs are part of a truly unique team bringing joy to families lives in caring for their loved ones.

As an EAC, you will be responsible for ensuring your vehicle and clinical equipment are ready to respond to referrals, joining the clinical team for planning, coordination and review sessions. You’ll expertly handle transporting the clinical team to a referring hospital, be part of the team that helps to stabilise the patient and then safely deliver them to the receiving hospital’s Intensive Care Unit. You will be responsible for providing high quality, professional and compassionate care for patients and ensuring current clinical practice procedures and requirements are followed.
About You
To be considered for the role you must be educated to GCSE level and have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels. You should have a minimum of 12 months driving experience and hold a full UK driving licence with a maximum of three penalty points. All applicants must have a C1 on their licence. Those working towards this would be required to have it by an agreed start date. Candidates will need to have an enhanced full DBS check (which we provide) and complete a health check to ensure they are able to take up frontline work. This is a shift based role in a team that operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Shifts are 12 hours in duration and on a shift rotation basis. This is not a 9 to 5 role and will include rostered weekend, night and bank holiday working for which enhanced pay premiums are added.

About the Role
Don’t miss out on an amazing opportunity, the Neonatal Transfer service for London is recruiting experienced EAC/ECA to join its St John ambulance team.
The Neonatal Transfer service has been established since 2003 and has expanded to its current model of four transfer teams per 24 hours, seven days a week. NTS London has plans to continue to expand as the needs of London grows. Will you be a part of this exciting transformation.?
NTS London and St John are looking for proactive, enthusiastic and hardworking people to join our services. We are a welcoming and culturally diverse team, who have a shared vision and values towards our patient care and we would like to invite you to join our team.
As part of the Neonatal Transfer service for London, successful applicants will work alongside senior nurses and doctors, transferring some of London’s most vulnerable patients. The emergency side of the service provides 24/7 cover for the stabilisation of neonates and transfer to specialist units. The repatriation of neonates is undertaken by an experienced nurse and ambulance tech to transfer babies back to local units to be closer to home, Monday to Friday 07:30-19:45.
This service is integral to allowing sick patients to access specialist care in a timely manner whilst also supporting units in patient flow and families being able to stay together.
If successful you will be welcomed into a friendly and hardworking team, consisting of three consultants, specialist doctors and experienced transport nurses.
Our clinical teams are complemented by our ambulance technicians and work side by side providing the intensive, high dependency and special care our patients need using specially designed equipment and vehicles.
A full induction process is provided with competencies surrounding the transport situation and equipment. Shifts include rotation between dual and single clinician teams. Patterns include days, nights and the twilight team over weekdays and weekends.
The post holders will provide transport expertise for the team, assisting in the stabilisation and provision of specialist care. Successful applicants will be provided training including vehicle familiarisation, the operation of incubators and mounted equipment and team working.
Other opportunities include attending the Resus Council (UK) Neonatal Life Support course and the NTS Neonatal Emergency Simulated Team Training (NESTT). Staff also participate in team based teaching/training sessions, daily case discussions and audit/project work to develop the service.
The skills in the post holder would include being able to work proactively in a multi-disciplinary setting, demonstrating a high level of interpersonal skills, professionalism and accountability, communication skills and be flexible in their approach. As Emergency Ambulance Crew, you will be responsible for responding to both emergency and non-emergency situations where you will assess and treat patients to your trained skill level. This unique and rewarding opportunity will allow you to train towards a qualification in Emergency Care and support your community and local ambulance services playing a pivotal role in the fight against COVID-19. Summary of Role:
To have overall management responsibility and accountability of the Humanitarian Programmes work streams through the continual development and management of humanitarian capacity and surge resources ensuring high quality programme delivery to communities affected by disasters. This includes responding to slow and rapid onset emergencies and supporting communities to become resilient to future shocks.
The role will also contribute to the development of the global humanitarian programme strategy whilst providing operational management assistance, funding and programmatic support to the humanitarian team at country level and partners. The Humanitarian Programmes Manager (HPM) will work in close coordination with the Country Management, Partnership and Institutional Funding team and is expected further strengthen existing MA emergency intervention strategy and alert system.
The postholder will be required to travel at short notice.
About the Role:
- In coordination with the Head of International Programmes, to lead the development of Muslim Aid’s Emergency intervention Strategy and strengthen existing alert system.
- To develop humanitarian rapid response models for Rapid Response Teams' deployments from HQ, through country offices and/ or through partner organisation’s at country level and non- country offices.
- To write effective and timely proposals for disaster and emergency response for non-country offices in consultation with the Emergency Task Force.
- To ensure that quality control systems are put in place for the adequate management of various responsibilities, such as: disaster preparedness; needs assessment; project proposal writing and budget preparation; project implementation (including the financial management, administration and timely reporting of projects), project monitoring and evaluation.
- To represent Muslim Aid in broader coalitions addressing wider advocacy issues on the impact of global emergencies.
- To support the Institutional Fundraising Lead in all areas in order to maximize income opportunities for emergencies and disasters
About You:
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Educated to Bachelor’s degree level.
- Understanding of emergency programmes design, implementation and evaluation
- Proven experience in monitoring and evaluation of programmes; using of quantitative and qualitative research data collected in support of programme development
- Knowledge of SPHERE, CHS and DEC Accountability Framework priorities and other humanitarian/development sector initiatives and standards.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills and ability to liaise effectively with people at various levels.
- Strong and well-developed analytical skills coupled with experience of writing quality proposals and reports

Key duties include supporting and maintaining administrative systems and processes, internal and external stakeholder management, managing fundraising resources, supporting with projects and campaigns and updating our charities database.

About You:
- Undertaking office administration
- Dealing with customer/ employee/ volunteer enquiries/ Experience of delivering excellent customer care/ Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to communicate effectively at all levels
- Ability to use Microsoft applications at an intermediate level
- Ability to prioritise and show attention to detail
About the Role:
- Liaising with relevant stakeholders to ensure accurate recording of correspondence and donations and managing the recognition processes including writing and updating response handling briefs and communications
- Managing the team’s purchase order and invoicing process, maintaining the log and corresponding with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate payment processing.
- To support the project management of St John Ambulance campaigns at all stages, including briefing data, creative, production and fulfilment teams, drawing up schedules, managing the internal approval processes and performance monitoring
- Recording and reporting relevant information on the charity’s client management system (CRM)
- Manage the directorate monthly welcome process with support of the Direct Marketing Exectuive or Officer, including data quality checking, liasing with printers, maintaining stationery stock levels and monitoring email journeys results to ensure timely thanking of new donors and fundraisers.

About the Role
We have a fantastic position for someone who is eager to start their career in the fundraising sector and is passionate about providing excellent supporter care. Ronald McDonald House Charities UK is the leading charity in providing free accommodation to families with children in hospital, and we're in the midst of an exciting time for the organisation.
Our Supporter Care and Resource Centre Team was established less than a year ago and the small but mighty team are already providing such vital resource to the charity, and in particular the Income Generation Team, and we are therefore in need of a friendly and passionate individual to join them.
The team sits within the heart of fundraising at RMHCUK, helping to provide excellent care to a variety of supporters from individuals, companies, groups and families who have benefitted from our support. Each of these supporters is passionate about helping us keep families close to their sick child, which is why we aim to provide them with the best donor journey we can.
A wide range of activities are carried out by the team, and this is reflected in the variety of tasks to be undertaken within the post. This will range from answering enquiries, stewarding supporters, managing fundraising stock, updating the database, and working with an array of people and departments to fulfil our overall mission of keeping families close.
As a new team, the remit is changing all the time and this post offers the postholder the opportunity to become part of, and actively contribute to, the highly professional Income Generation Team. Flexibility and a proactive approach to the role is critical.
The succesful applicant will play an important role in helping to achieve the overal charity objectives, as well as contributing to the long-term growth and development.
About You
This role is perfect for someone who has previous experience in a customer care or administrative role, looking to enhance their skills and delve further into the fundraising sector.
You will have excellent interpersonal skills and will be an effective communicator, with the ability to communicate with an array of people both verbally and through written communications. You will also be experienced in IT, with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and the ability to keep the charity database up to date.
You will be a team player and have excellent time management skills in order to manage multiple tasks at once.
