Attendance at local meetings (2 per month) at Preston, Lancaster or Kirkham. Completion of the Emergency Responder Training course.
Interviews will be held at one of the three locations in Lancashire West (Kirkham, Lancaster or Preston) on there respective training nights.

This role will require an in-person interview, which will take place provisionally in Birmingham City Centre. Interview dates/times will be emailed to you should your application be successful. Please ensure that you are able to attend an in person interview in Birmingham before submitting your application.
Volunteers would be expected to commit 100 hours of volunteering a year in a clinical capacity. They will also be expected to keep in regular contact with their line manager and keep up to date with their training.
Once your screening for role has been completed, you will be invited to attend your local St John Ambulance Network for a Welcome and Induction.
Training for this role consists of online learning modules and a 6 day in-person course, normally spread across three weekends. Your local Network will support you through the training process.

There is an expectation to regularly attend training meetings at one of our Network Units. Locations, days and times will be discussed at interview stage.
Candidates will be invited to attend an informal interview at Wharf Street in Wolverhampton where they will have the opportunity to learn more about the role as well as opportunities within St John Ambulance. If successful you will also required to complete relevant role training which includes both in person practical (4 days) and mandatory online eLearning.
There will be quarterly welcome events taking place at Wharf Street Wolverhampton where the successful candidates will meet the leaders for the Wolverhampton Networks. During the induction they will learn more about the organisation, how to access resources and select their preferred network to join - this will be predominantly based on the meeting night of the network. Welcome Event Dates 1 - Saturday 11th October 2 - TBC 3 - TBC 4 - TBC
Training for the role will include up to 4 days of practical in-class training, ongoing assessment and mandatory online eLearning.

Do you live in Wales and want to gain valuable skills, have new experiences, and support vulnerable people?
We are offering 6 young people aged 18-25 the opportunity to volunteer with the Portuguese Red Cross in Cucujães, which serves the Municipality of Oliveira de Azeméis. Planned placement dates are: 26th February - 27th May 2026 and 1st June - 7th August 2026.
The Red Cross offers support to the local community in three main areas: Social Assistance and access to Welfare Services, Emergency Response & First Aid and Youth Engagement. Projects include: social assistance and counselling, food bank and food relief, activities for people with disabilities, first aid education, environmental education, activities focused on prevention for at risk youth, intergenerational and community workshops.
The successful volunteer will stay in a shared apartment (with other international volunteers) in a shared bedroom, located in Oliveira de Azeméis and carry out volunteering activities in two different locations (at Local Partner Institution: Centro de Apoio Familiar Pinto Carvalho (Oliveira de Azeméis) and at the Local Branch of the Portuguese Red Cross (Vila de Cucujães).
We would expect volunteers to do no more than 36 hours per week, within a rotating volunteer schedule, which will include two consecutive days per week away from the project.
It's a fantastic opportunity to get involved in projects and find out what you are interested in. For more details on the role and the projects available, have a look at the role description. The main thing we want to see is your motivation for this placement! These are fully funded placements, with return flights, accommodation and health insurance covered - volunteers receive a small monthly stipend for living expenses.
Please note that only young people based in Wales can apply for this role, as it is Taith funded. Interviews will take place online with shortlisted candidates.

Midlands Air Ambulance Charity (MAAC) is looking to appoint a new Trustee to its Board of Trustees (voluntary role) - an individual with CQC/ Healthcare sector experience. MAAC is looking for someone who:
- Has executive experience within a CQC regulated organisation - with extensive CQC knowledge and a strong understanding of governance. Healthcare sector experience is essential.
- Has the ability to make a strong contribution to the governance and success of Midlands Air Ambulance Charity (with a track record of successful leadership, and experience of operating at board level or the ability to contribute at board level).
- Has the time to commit to four in person Board meetings per year and four virtual Clinical Standards Committee meetings per year.
To provide patients with outstanding pre-hospital care and lifesaving intervention through the operation of helicopter-led emergency medical services.
