We have a vacancy for a Community Outreach Worker to join our team, supporting refugees and asylum seekers in the community with multiple needs who have mental health as a primary need, through providing advice, information and holistic support.

About the Service

This is an exciting and reasonably new project, ‘Flourish’ – Mental Health for Refugees in Hertfordshire, which is a highly flexible and responsive outreach service developed to meet the needs of refugees fleeing the war in Ukraine & other refugees in Hertfordshire. The aim of the service will be to support refugees in the community with multiple needs who have mental health support as a primary need.

The countywide holistic service also provides emotional wellbeing support for families who are hosting refugees.

‘Complex needs’ are defined by the National Complex Needs Alliance as a combination of health needs and social needs.

Purpose of Post

• The purpose of the Hertfordshire Mind Network Refugee Community Outreach Worker role is to:
• To provide advice, information, onward referral and holistic support to clients with mental ill health.
• Support to build social networks and reduce isolation whilst settling into the Hertfordshire community this includes building a sustainable and empowering peer support network and building confidence and self-esteem.
• To ensure that the safety and wellbeing of the client is monitored and reviewed regularly.
• To remain a source of independent support for all clients.
• Embed a person centred and solution focused approach in all aspects of the role.
• To work in a trauma informed way including awareness of the 6 principles of trauma informed practice, putting the clients emotional and practical needs at the forefront of this work.

The successful candidate will have experience of caseload management, a good understanding of Mental Health conditions and experience of working with vulnerable individuals who are affected by housing difficulties and/or displacement. Understanding and knowledge of the concerns and challenges for refugees and asylum seekers and lived experience would be desirable.

About the role:

We are looking to appoint a Neonatal Support Worker as part of the Kentown Children’s Palliative Care Programme, funded by Kentown Support as part of a developing programme delivering high quality wrap-around care and support to families with a baby receiving treatment on the Neonatal Intensive Care units within the Greater Manchester region, working collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team supporting the families.

1. To lead the delivery of youth sessions at Knights Youth Centre (KYC) and facilitate youth provision in line with the ethos, values and vision of Oasis.

3. Deliver informal education opportunities and small group mentoring within the identified sessions and the wider community. 
4. To manage and coordinate KYC staff members whilst leading sessions.
5. Record all activity on our data management system.

7. Actively engage in the learning and professional development courses provided as part of this employment.

The successful post holder must have:

· Proven experience in leading youth work provision for young people aged 14-18.

About the role

As a Housing First Coach you will deliver high quality person-centred support, using psychologically and trauma informed approaches, in line with Housing First principles. You will take a bold approach to establishing open and trusting relationships with people who have had long histories of homelessness or in temporary/insecure accommodation, enabling them to access and sustain accommodation and empower them to exercise choice and control over their lives. The team is multi-disciplinary – Coaches, Peer Support Worker, Clinical Psychologist – which allows us to collaboratively formulate innovative approaches to support. The team operates across London, providing numerous opportunities to build impactful partnerships and contribute towards systems change. 

About you

· To be successful in this role you will be a self-starter, flexible and have experience of working collaboratively as part of a team and with internal and external partners. 

· You may have a background in housing/homelessness support, adult safeguarding, drug or alcohol recovery services or mental health and have significant experience of working within a multidisciplinary setting with the ability to create strong professional relationships and creative solutions. 

· You will have experience of working with people who have faced severe and multiple exclusion and who may be considered to have ‘complex needs’, with an understanding of the needs of people who have been homeless for long periods of time.

· You will be willing and able to provide practical assistance with moving into and maintaining a home – including direct help where necessary with tasks such as shopping, budgeting, cooking, and cleaning. 

· You will also have a knowledge of Housing First and housing led approaches and the ability to work within a psychologically informed approach.

The Jobs, Education and Training (JET) team works with young people facing homelessness to support them into meaningful and appropriate employment, training opportunities, apprenticeships, volunteering, and education. As part of our delivery, we have developed a weekly ESOL group for young people looking to improve their spoken English, many of whom are young refugees and asylum seekers. As a Kentown Family Service Coordinator, you will be the first point of contact for families referred into the Kentown programme, helping them navigate health, social care, and voluntary sector services. You will:

The Volunteer Coordinator we are looking for will enjoy this unique opportunity to grow and develop our current volunteer work into a thriving and sustainable programme. Our large Cadbury family home with five acres of beautiful grounds is a retreat centre for justice, reconciliation and peace and, as a result of this role, will become a fantastic space for volunteers to flourish while supporting the physical place, vision and work of the charity.

Our current volunteer work includes a small group of local individuals who meet for a monthly volunteer days to work on the grounds and maintenance, and who support our retreat and fundraising events. A relationship with BT has enabled us to begin to offer voluntary opportunities for their local staff and this area is ready to be developed. Volunteers of all faiths and none are invited, but not required, to participate in the rhythm of prayer at the house, and all have the opportunity to hear about the vision and work as part of their experience with us. Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Governance

• Work with the Board of Trustees to set and deliver the charity’s vision, mission, and strategic priorities.
• Provide clear, evidence-based advice and recommendations to the Board, ensuring effective governance and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Position the charity as a recognised leader in tackling inequality and poverty in the borough, particularly the North Kensington area.
• Maintain financial oversight taking a strategic approach to managing Dalgarno Trust’s finances in a sustainable way – ensuring adequate reserves are maintained.
• Ensure effective short, medium, and long-term financial planning is in place throughout the different levels of the organisation. Provide effective scrutiny by working with Dalgarno Trust’s accountants and finance personnel.

Income Generation & Fundraising

• Lead a sustainable income generation strategy, including accessing trust and foundation fundraising, corporate sponsorships, statutory grants, and social enterprise opportunities.
• Build and maintain relationships with funders and donors to maximise opportunities for growth and diversification of income.
• Ensure effective financial management, monitoring, and reporting of a c.£750k annual budget.
