About the Youth Endowment Fund
We exist to prevent children and young people becoming involved in violence. We do this by finding out what works and building a movement to put this knowledge into practice.
Last year, 244 people in England and Wales tragically died after being assaulted with a knife. Of these, 32 were children. Every child captured in these numbers is an important member of our community and society has a duty to protect them. Even when violence doesn’t strike directly, we know that the fear of violence has a terrible effect on children’s lives.
At the Youth Endowment Fund, we are working to create lasting change. To succeed, we must build a world-leading body of knowledge on the violence that affects young people and how it can be stopped. This means producing rigorous, relevant evidence — through synthesis, data analysis and in-depth research into young people’s lives. But knowledge alone isn’t enough. We must make it accessible and actionable: showing what works, how services need to change, and how the systems around them must adapt. And we must partner with the people who can make change happen — across policy, practice and local systems — to turn evidence into impact.
About the role
The Research Lead will lead the development of YEF’s research, resources and recommendations in our neighbourhood focus sector.
We focus our efforts on seven essential sectors: education, policing, youth justice, youth sector, children’s services, health, and neighbourhood. “Neighbourhood” refers to our work supporting local partnerships – such as Violence Reduction Units (VRUs), community safety partnerships or the new Prevention Partnerships - and hyper-local approaches like our neighbourhood fund.
Their primary responsibility will be to develop a series of actionable and evidence-informed guidance and resources for use by local violence prevention partnerships. This will include self-assessment tools for partnerships to assess their effectiveness, tools for understanding the nature of local violence problems and how they could be solved, and resources to support partnerships to identify and safeguard vulnerable children. Creating these resources will require the Research Lead to collect insights and evidence from across YEF’s work and develop YEF positions on fundamental questions about violence prevention. If successful, the Research Lead could have an outsized impact on YEF’s strategy and mission.
These resources will support YEF colleagues to deliver our new ‘Area Leaders Programme’ (ALP). This is a new programme which you will help form. It helps local multi-agency partnerships to find and implement the best ways to prevent violence. YEF is working directly with partnerships, providing high-quality professional development, tailored advice and support, system mapping, and a national community of practice. The ALP focuses on strengthening five key elements of effective violence reduction:
- Building strong and accountable partnerships
- Understanding local patterns of violence
- Identifying and supporting children most at risk
- Improving safety in high-risk places
- Sharing best practice across agencies
Following a pilot in four areas in 2024/25, the programme will expand to 20 more areas over the next two years. This will lay the groundwork for wider national initiatives, such as the Young Futures Prevention Partnerships, and support implementation of the Serious Violence Duty. The Research Lead will develop resources and guidance for the ALP. As the programme is delivered iteratively, they will work closely with YEF programme leads and local partnerships to test, refine, and improve materials before wider rollout.
The Research Lead will be part of YEF’s Research team. The Research team is at the heart of our efforts to learn what works and put it into practice. We do this by developing the YEF’s funding strategy and creating free, highly accessible research summaries and actionable recommendations for policy makers, commissioners and practitioners. We’re a high-performing team which values intellectual rigour and getting to the truth, compassion for children, ambition about what we can achieve and humility about what we know. We love to discuss the latest developments in research methods, but we’re not just interested in research for its own sake. We want research to lead to actual changes in outcomes for children.
Key responsibilities
The Research Lead will develop a portfolio of impactful projects.
· You’ll lead the research team’s work in our local neighbourhoods and partnerships priority sector. You’ll become the YEF’s expert in this area. You’ll make sure we understand the key issues, stay on top of the latest research and are connected to the right people.
· You’ll ensure we produce accessible, evidence-based resources and guidance that local partnerships can use to develop more effective strategies. You’ll work with YEF colleagues to test, refine, and improve materials before wider rollout
· You’ll set the YEF’s research agenda for your sector. You’ll make sure we invest in research that fills important gaps in knowledge and leads to important changes. You’ll ensure that our strategy and decision-making are informed by the best available research. This is a great opportunity to influence large amounts of funding and direct it towards the most impactful projects.
· You’ll develop great relationships with experts and represent YEF in external meetings and events. You’ll promote evidence-based policy and practice by speaking at conferences and events.
· You’ll lead the development of evidence-based recommendations in your focus area. You’ll draw on research and expert insight to identify potential changes to policy and practice. You’ll design and develop innovative and impactful resources which support the application of your recommendations.
· You’ll take on other responsibilities appropriate to your role. This could include leading the publication of YEF’s evaluation reports or writing ad hoc briefings and evidence summaries for the Government and other partners.
About You
You are this sort of person:
· You want to play a significant part in reducing the level of violence affecting young people. You care about having an impact. This might mean you’ve worked directly with young people at risk of becoming involved in crime, for organisations that fund or deliver relevant programmes, or have conducted research on this topic.
· You share our belief that an evidence-based approach is our best hope of preventing violence. You’re fascinated by research, but you’re not just interested in research for its own sake. You want to achieve actual changes in outcomes for children.
· You know a lot about violence prevention, especially local partnerships and structures like VRUs or Community Safety Partnerships. You know the key ideas and debates, recent policy developments and key people. You’re comfortable talking about this topic with experts. There are many ways to acquire this knowledge. You might have worked in a local authority or local violence prevention organisation, conducted research on them or learnt about them during a degree.
· You’re a confident reader of research and have strong critical appraisal skills. You know when research can be trusted and when it can’t and can confidently articulate your views on the strength of research. You might have gained this expertise through your academic studies, research or professional experience.
· You have at least three years’ experience working in a role that required you to think about research. This could include a range of roles in policy, academia, funding or practice.
· You write in a way that people easily understand. You have that rare skill of writing in plain English. You have experience of translating complex research findings into plain writing that everyone can understand.
· You have excellent project and time management skills. You can work independently, quickly and to a high standard. You have experience of managing contractors or budgets.
· You are good with people. You’re comfortable working with a wide range of people, including senior academics and other research experts, children and their families, practitioners and policy makers. You’re able to provide constructive challenges when required.
· You learn fast but remain humble. You like learning. You’re very good at synthesising information. You know how much you don't know and that you can always learn more.
· You work well in a team. You care more that good things happen than who gets the credit. You support your colleagues to produce excellent work.

In this role, you will be the face of our friendly and passionate Supporter Engagement Team. You will have the opportunity to support in creating and launching exciting new fundraising products, attend a wide variety of events and add your voice by reviewing current processes which will benefit our fundraisers.
You will work closely with our network of 12 home-based Regional Fundraising Officers (RFOs) as well as our Sporting Events and Corporate Teams. You will be the first point of contact for the majority of our supporters and will offer first-class stewardship to ensure our fundraisers feel well-supported before, during and after their amazing adventures.
You will provide crucial administrative support to the RFOs and all teams in Supporter Led Fundraising (Sporting Events, Corporate, and Marketing and Engagement). Support will include adding accurate details to our database, coding gifts tracking and monitoring income, responsibility for online donation platforms and virtual fundraising as well as general administrative duties in the office.
This role will be known internally as Fundraising Executive*
Main duties and responsibilities of the role:
· Be the positive, passionate face and first point of contact for the Supporter Led Fundraising (SLF) team.
· Build first-class and long-term relationships through telephone calls and emails with our supporters to ensure they have the best fundraising experience at Alzheimer’s Research UK.
· Provide central stewardship support to a remote-based team of Regional Fundraising Officers (RFOs) to ensure effective delivery of the SLF strategy and budget.
· Provide administrative support for the whole of the SLF team, primarily to the home-based RFOs.
· Support the Sporting Events Team with recruitment and stewardship of events.
· Work with our Corporate Teams to effectively steward our partner companies.
· Ensure consistent cross-working to identify potential opportunities in current and prospective supporters for long lasting relationships across all teams.
· As one of the key fundraising contacts, keep the managers and team up to date with supporter feedback.
· Provide central communications within the organisation on behalf of the team, updating them on upcoming events and projects.
· Attend a variety of events to engage with and cheer on supporters including golf days, regional events and sporting events.
Administrative Support
· Process material requests from fundraising supporters, offering appropriate support while considering charity cost.
· Provide support on fundraising email inboxes e.g. skydive inbox and Walk For a Cure
· Provide further support to the RFOs where necessary including mass printing, franking, booking couriers and personalising thank you letters and certificates.
· Provide additional support on Ad Hoc campaigns such as Facebook challenges.
· Ensure clear, consistent and up to date fundraising data management including adding new constituents to the fundraising database, accurately recording and maintaining supporter details, monitoring and tracking supporter income and making sure supporters are appropriately thanked in a timely manner.
· Support with social media and website updates including virtual fundraising challenges.
· Provide data support to the Senior Officer.
· Ensure all communications are in line with GDPR policies.
· Become the Central coordinator for SLF-wide activities and procedures, e.g. skydives, contactless machines and invoice processing.
Spotting Potential
· As the central point of contact for the SLF team, you will effectively and consistently spot opportunities to build networks among our fundraising community and flag these to the relevant members of the team.
· Identify and research potential community group and business partnerships for SLF teams.
· Use data reports to spot fundraising trends and identify opportunities.
· Help spot opportunities and contact supporters as part of our re-engagement process to encourage repeat fundraising.
· Effectively communicate ARUK’s legacy messages to supporters via telephone and in writing.
Collaboration
· Build strong relationships with teams across the organisation in order to work collaboratively, allowing you to offer the best stewardship journey to our supporters.
· Work with our Supporters and Families Team by sharing fundraiser stories to maximise potential publicity.
· Work closely with teams such as Science Communications, Digital and Design to help create appropriate stewardship journey assets for the whole of SLF.
· Liaise with our Supporter Care team to ensure processes are in-line across the organisation.
· Become involved in a Community Fundraising Project Group, adding creative insight and performing administrative and relationship-building duties based on one of our key fundraising areas.

Additional Information:
Ways of working: As part of our Agile ways of working you will be required to work approximately 2 days a week from the office, which is subject to the requirements of the role and the business needs. Flexibility on where you work can be split between working from home and our office.

About the role
The purpose of this role is to drive policy development across our policy priority areas. The Policy Officer will lead on specific policy projects, commissioning research, developing policy positions, and producing reports and consultation responses.
This role will cover a broad range of issues across one of our strategic goals – prevention and diagnosis; access to treatment; and living well with arthritis. Our approach considers the needs of people of all ages who have arthritis.

About the Role
As our Policy Advisor –Research and Data Monitoring you will support the highest standards of research development, analysis and communication of data relating to the water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) sector.
In this role, you will lead high-level analysis and quality assurance of WASH data use as well as management research resources, include the Research and Evidence Bank, the Research Tracker and the Statistics Bank.
You’ll also:
- Contribute to the design and commissioning of research projects to support advocacy, campaigns, media communications
- Oversea and manage small research projects – facilitating the sharing of research outputs and learnings within GPAC and across the organisation
- Work closely with GPAC colleagues and other WaterAid UK departments and ensure that information on commissioned research projects and learnings are shared widely across the WaterAid Federation (Australia, Canada, India, Japan, Sweden, UK, and USA)
- Play an active role in the research team, support colleagues and provide feedback as required and support any other relevant processes within the remit of the Policy team and GPAC in general
Requirements
To be successful, you’ll need:
- Excellent numerical skills and understanding of data and statistics, including an ability to seek the latest data from regular sources and to access new sources of data relevant to WaterAid’s work
- Strong analytical, research and writing skills (English language)
- An entrepreneurial approach to supporting influencing work, including the ability to take the initiative and rapidly adapt work plans to seize new and unforeseen opportunities.

The Role:
• This is a key role in The National Lottery Heritage Funded project at Mourne Park. The Conservation Officer will be required to work on the development and delivery of woodland creation and restoration operations, natural and built heritage and countryside access projects and local habitat auditing and assessment programmes.
• The role will be responsible for providing advice and assessments to landowners who wish to participate on the woodland creation or restoration element of the project and continually monitor work undertaken to ensure successful implementation.
• You will co-ordinate and oversee implementation work on heritage conservation projects identified by the project, including the writing of management plans when required.
• You are responsible for fostering good relations with partners, contractors, interested organisations and individuals, local people, visitors and the media. Identifying, reviewing and meeting with potential partners who could assist the project to meet its objectives and whose objectives could be assisted by the project.

As a Senior Event Planner, you will be a key member of their experienced and dynamic team. You will play a crucial role in converting high-revenue business opportunities and planning and coordinating both physical and hybrid events. Your efforts will help maximise income and fill unsold spaces which support our revenue targets. You will also drive high performance and engagement within the team by deputising for the diary/revenue and team managers as needed, and by supervising the commercial planning team to ensure best practices and change initiatives are implemented.
In addition to managing your own events, you will support the sales team by planning and coordinating events converted from new prospective clients with high revenue potential. Your role will involve maintaining and developing high-value key accounts, networking with existing clients, and engaging with past users to generate future business and develop new leads. A strong commercial awareness of profitable business and current industry trends is essential.
Responsibilities include:
- Liaising with customers from the initial enquiry stage, right through the customer journey to post event follow up including for physical, hybrid and virtual events.
- Arranging and conducting client venue visits, handling enquiries and following up with detailed proposals.
- Demonstrating an in-depth knowledge of the product, pricing and packages on offer,
- Demonstrating commercial awareness in order to successfully negotiate with customers to win their business.

Experience
- Educated to A-level, or equivalent business or event management qualification.

- Working in a direct planning role within the hospitality/events industry specialising in conferences, meetings, dining and events, with a minimum of 2 years of experience.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft office applications.
- Being commercially aware of finance, budget management and working in a profitable business.
- Having knowledge of food and beverage in the context of the hospitality and events industry.
- Ability to prioritise your own workload and completing tasks with a high level of accuracy.

The Governance Administrator will be responsible for supporting the organisation to adhere to legal and regulatory requirements, reducing the risk of non-compliance, fines, or reputational damage. They ensure policies and procedures align with governance standards and industry regulations.
What you'll do:
* Risk Panel Coordination: Manage and facilitate the full end-to-end process, including scheduling, document collation, and stakeholder engagement.
* Financial Administration: Process invoices and raise purchase orders in line with company procedures.
* Insurance Claims Management: Investigate, administer, and liaise with insurers and colleagues regarding company insurance claims.
