About the role

Your key purpose will be, in the absence of and alongside the Shop Manager, to manage a team of volunteers to maximise sales, deliver excellent customer service and ensure that the shop premises and assets are maintained to a high standard, according to legal requirements and Shooting Star Children’s Hospices (SSCH) policies and procedures

About you

This role requires experience of assisting in managing a shop including knowledge of retail and health and safety legislation and administrative/cash handling experience.

You will also have an ability to deal with customers and maintaining a high level of customer service, have good verbal, written communication skills, as well as being comfortable using IT and EPOS reporting. You will have an ability to motivate yourself and others, have excellent organisational skills and be comfortable working under pressure and dealing with changing priorities.

The post holder must be able to work their contracted hours across the 7-day working week.

Job Description​

Delivering the Philanthropy plan​

• Work with the Senior Philanthropy Lead and Head of Fundraising to grow the major donor portfolio within the wider strategy ​
• Build and maintain a portfolio of existing and new major donors who give or can give £15,000 or more, ensuring a first-class cultivation and stewardship journey​
• Line manage the Philanthropy Executive and support their professional development, providing direction, support and guidance​
• Work with our Prospect Research & Administration Intern to identify new potential Bookmark major donors, working with trustees, staff, and our wonderfully supportive Partnerships Board to secure introductions and make asks of prospective supporters​
• Lead on philanthropy events, working with the wider team in delivering income generating, cultivation and stewardship activities ​
• Create compelling, relevant and tailored funding proposals, reports and collateral to inspire and inform donors, reflecting Bookmark’s strong brand​

What we do

We’re IPWSO, the international umbrella body for Prader-Willi syndrome (PWS) associations around the world.

• We build communities between people with Prader-Willi syndrome, their families and the professionals who support them to share knowledge and expertise and improve outcomes for people with Prader-Willi syndrome and their families everywhere.
• We want everyone with Prader-Willi syndrome to get equal access to diagnosis and treatment no matter where in the world they live and to ensure better, more consistent outcomes for people with the syndrome and their families.
• We work to ensure research into the condition works for everyone and reflects the diverse experiences and environments of those living with the syndrome around the world today.
• Our membership comprises PWS associations in 47 countries and we support individual families and professionals in over 70 other countries.
• We have a staff team of four who work in conjunction with dedicated volunteers from around the world.

Key Fundraising Responsibilities

• Develop communications content that will invigorate our existing donors and inspire new ones leading to increased giving by individuals to IPWSO.
• Focusing in particular on our website and social media channels, communicate our achievements, impacts and needs with a view to influencing IPWSO’s online supporters to make donations and engage in fundraising initiatives.
• Provide outstanding donor care to encourage a high level of retention and repeat donations.

The Coproduction Service Manager is responsible for the operational leadership of coproduction, involvement and engagement. Location of Work: Home based. The post holder will be expected to travel to meet donors, travel to away days and team meetings in London. The role may involve some irregular travel throughout England and Scotland. Expenses will be paid in line with our Travel and Expenses policy.

Magic Breakfast is a registered charity that exists to make sure no child or young person is too hungry to learn. We provide nutritious breakfasts and expert support to primary, secondary, ASN/SEND schools and pupil referral units in disadvantaged areas of England and Scotland. Providing a daily school breakfast ensures that every child and young person feels included, equal and set up for success. Magic Breakfast works to be part of the solution to end child morning hunger for good through our campaigning, research and advocacy work with politicians and decision-makers.

JOB PURPOSE 

Magic Breakfast’s mission is to end child morning hunger in the UK now and for good the Philanthropy team’s role is to develop and deliver the charity's high net worth individual giving programme in line with Magic Breakfast’s strategic priorities to enable our organisational growth against our mission. 

We are seeking to grow income through further cultivation and stewardship of our potential and existing donors. Our High Value Giving teams are forecast to collectively raise £5.1m in 2021/22, up from £4.6m two years ago in 2019/20. The team includes partnerships with charitable trusts and foundations, corporate organisations, and high-net-worth individuals. 

Reporting into the Head of Philanthropy, this role will have a particular focus on ensuring that Magic Breakfast is offering the highest quality of donor care from start to finish, and building and developing our prospect pipeline.

We’re looking for a proactive person with excellent relationship building, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship skills as we seek to build our prospect pool, enhance or supporter journey and achieve our ambitious fundraising targets.

The Philanthropy Manager will have the opportunity to be innovative and creative, to create and test impactful donor journeys and engagement opportunities so Magic Breakfast’s supporters feel valued and can understand the transformational difference they are making to hungry children and their learning in the UK. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES  

Income generation and donor stewardship and prospect development 

• Manage your own portfolio of donors, providing excellent stewardship and strategies to uplift and secure multi year donations 

• Work with Corporate, Trusts and Individual Giving teams to identify potential major donors and high value regular givers within Magic Breakfast’s donor portfolio and implement plans to develop these relationships; 

• Work with the Head of Philanthropy and Prospect Researcher to build a Philanthropy prospect pipeline 

• Write accurate, inspiring and compelling fundraising propositions and reports for potential and existing major donors 

• Review and make recommendations for improvement of our existing donor journey, building a calendar of engaging content and touchpoints throughout the year. 

• Lead on devising, developing and organising bespoke events for donors and prospects 

• Complete timely event reviews to improve and inform future decision making and planning.

• Work in partnership with the wider fundraising teams to provide excellent supporter care to all event attendees and stakeholders. 

• Support the Head of Philanthropy to build relationships with senior volunteers to garner their support with hosting and supporting events to connect us to, and unlock, their networks. 

• Use our CRM database (Salesforce) to log KPIs, project and reconcile finances and manage supporter relationships

Internal 

• Work with wider Fundraising team to help create and deliver cross departmental  events, and identify referral opportunities (to Trusts and Corporates) 

• Develop strong relationships with Service Delivery and Policy and Engagement colleagues, involving them in meetings with donors where appropriate to strengthen those relationships and engage them further 

• Work with Service Delivery to identify, plan and co-ordinate school visits for donors and prospects 

Financial processes, reporting and due diligence: 

• Ensure all donations are thanked and recorded in a timely way, and logged accurately on salesforce 

• Support Head of Philanthropy in accurately forecasting philanthropy income for each financial year, and ensure forecast income is updated monthly.

•  to the philanthropy budget and goal with wider awareness of org and F&D goals 

• Work with Prospect Researcher to ensure all due diligence checks on donors are completed, and that they meet our criteria in our ethical fundraising policy, flagging any risks upwards for resolution.

The Role

As our Deputy Shop Manager, you will raise funds to invest in achieving the charity’s goal to save lives in Yorkshire and portray the charity as a professional, credible brand which acts with integrity. Reporting to the Shop Manager, you will provide excellent customer service, ensuring volunteers, donors and customers know how their contribution is helping the people of Yorkshire.

Specifically, you will:

· Play an active part in running our shop in Castleford, supporting the Shop Manager in implementing processes and ways of working.

· Provide cover for days off, holidays and sickness as required, with possible occasional travel to other shops to provide support if needed by the charity.

· Support the Shop Manager to maximise the income and profit of the shop through active stock management, replenishment, and rotation.

Key tasks

• Strategic membership activities including:

JOB PURPOSE 

UK for UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency's national charity partner, is looking for an agile, creative, and proactive team player who can join us as a Digital Acquisition and Mobilisation Manager within the digital fundraising team.

Working closely with the Head of Digital Fundraising, you will lead and deliver a multichannel acquisition strategy to mobilise and inspire new and existing donors to take action and donate.  Collaborating with the wider fundraising and communications teams, you will produce creative campaigns and content across a variety of channels – with a focus on digital donor acquisition and lead generation– to help grow our donor base, increase lifetime value and generate vital funds for families forced to flee. Role Responsibilities  

• Lead digital donor acquisition activities and journeys across a variety of channels including paid social, paid search, display, email and telemarketing. 
• Develop and implement a lead generation strategy to grow our supporter base, utilising and testing tools and tactics such as quizzes, petitions and hand-raisers to recruit and convert new leads and engage existing donors.
• Collaborate closely with fundraising and communications colleagues to deliver and optimise integrated, multichannel campaigns and effective, donor-first journeys to mobilise and inspire new and existing supporters to take action and donate. 
• Ensure all activities are aligned with strategic objectives, managing the multi-million-pound income and expenditure budget for digital acquisition and lead generation. 
• Actively test and optimise new products, channels and propositions to maximise fundraising and engagement opportunities, analysing progress and results.
• Manage relationships with agencies and campaign stakeholders to deliver agreed KPIs and fundraising targets, monitoring performance and budgeted spend. 
• Ensure that prospective donors receive an excellent supporter experience, working closely with the fundraising and comms team to develop a seamless journey across channels, including email, paid media and telemarketing. 
• Working with communications colleagues to ensure the website and social media channels are up to date with key messages and reflect content related to lead generation and acquisition activities.
• Produce persuasive, high-quality email, social, display and web copy to motivate the public to act and donate and proofread and collect necessary feedback from relevant stakeholders and signatories in a timely manner.
• Remain flexible and quickly respond to emergency situations, identifying fundraising opportunities and develop relevant communications and journeys as needed, collaborating with colleagues from across the organisation. 
• Use data and insights to produce at minimum monthly reports on performance against KPIs and use analytics to identify trends and optimise activities based on user behaviour. 
• Stay up to date with digital best practices and technology, including sector trends and follow industry policies, including GDPR, PECR regulations, attending training and optimising plans accordingly.
• Stay up to date with issues affecting displaced communities, campaigns from international, content and reports from the field.
• Share creative and insights with UK colleagues, global teams, and HQ.
• Participate in training seminars, workshops, and skill shares where applicable. 
• Work collaboratively with digital engagement and communications colleagues to maximise fundraising and engagement opportunities.
• The role, in the future, may include line management responsibility.
• Complete any other tasks as outlined by the Head of Digital Fundraising.

Personal Attributes and Experience  

Essential Experience 

• Substantial experience in digital marketing and fundraising, with a proven track record of planning and delivering multichannel campaigns, preferably within the charity sector. 
• Experience of working across a broad channel mix (social, web, email, SEO, SEM and other Direct Marketing channels would be advantageous).
• Experience of using digital channels for lead acquisition to grow a supporter base and deliver sustainable income.
• Experience of using data to effectively measure, evaluate and report on fundraising activities and KPIs across multiple channels.
• Experience of working with and managing external agencies and suppliers. 
• Experience managing an annual budget and forecasting income projections.
• Experience using Google Analytics and other analytic tools for tracking and analysis.

The Role 
 
As our Deputy Shop Manager, you will raise funds to invest in achieving the charity’s goal to save lives in Yorkshire and portray the charity as a professional, credible brand which acts with integrity. Reporting to the Shop Manager, you will provide excellent customer service, ensuring volunteers, donors and customers know how their contribution is helping the people of Yorkshire. 

Specifically, you will: 

• Play an active part in running our shop in Castleford, supporting the Shop Manager in implementing processes and ways of working.

• Provide cover for days off, holidays and sickness as required, with possible occasional travel to other shops to provide support if needed by the charity. 

• Support the Shop Manager to maximise the income and profit of the shop through active stock management, replenishment, and rotation. 

• Manage a team of well-trained volunteers in the absence of the Shop Manager and take every effort to create a happy retail environment. 

• Support the Shop Manager to ensure accurate accounting and handling of assets (items donated and money received). 

• Support the Shop Manager to ensure accurate record keeping of items donated and the amount paid for each item for Gift Aid tax reclaim purposes.

MediCinema is a unique national, UK registered charity that improves the wellbeing and enriches the quality of life of NHS patients, their families and carers through the power of the shared cinema experience and the magic of film. We achieve this by building and running cinemas in hospitals and places of care equipped with space for beds, wheelchairs and medical equipment, and providing free films and activities for patients of all ages. The Role

We are looking for a Deputy Cinema Manager to join the existing team at the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle.

The post-holder will work with the Cinema Manager and the team of nurses and volunteers who support our MediCinema, and will work closely with them, the hospital, and with central office operations team to prepare for and run successful film screenings each week.

We run 4 regular inpatient screenings each week which includes evenings and weekends. The roleholder will be required to work on Saturdays as one of the two days to be worked each week. There will also be a programme of additional Tailored and Personal screenings on top of these regular inpatient screenings.

The role offers a unique, exciting and extremely rewarding opportunity for someone interested in a service delivery role at the heart of our charity, involving direct contact with the patients and families we support.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

Service Delivery

• Support the Cinema Manager in delivering a programme of screenings each week as agreed according to the operating procedures of a MediCinema, including running and managing screenings on your own. Most screenings are held in the evenings and at weekends so the role requires regular evening and Saturday working.
• On screening days be responsible for:
  • Marketing the service through the hospital’s wards, organising collecting and returning patients, and for safety and care in the cinema itself.
  • Taking responsibility for health and safety of patients coming to the cinema, and the safety and appearance of the cinema space itself.
  • Preparing and operating the digital projection equipment for the screening, ensuring that films are screened to the highest technical standards at all times. Training and ongoing technical support will be provided for this.
  • Ensuring that all operational, welfare and safeguarding policies set out by MediCinema are followed accordingly and that, where appropriate, consent forms are obtained for photographic or filmed records.
  • Ensuring that all aspects of the operation comply with relevant health and safety legislation, and that areas where MediCinema might be in breach of such are dealt with immediately or brought to the attention of the appropriate authorities for rectification.
  • Keeping accurate monitoring and operational records, including contacts and database updating as required
• Help the Cinema Manager collate, analyse and report back on agreed metrics and KPI’s
• Assist with arranging and running any special events and special screenings
• When required, arrange and run additional personal screenings for patients unable to attend regular screenings, plus special tailored screenings with particular hospital departments and patient groups.
• Support the development and roll out of any new type of screenings we embark on.
• Support the delivery of our complementary bedside services, such as our Disney ‘Moments that Matter’ work.

Nurse & Volunteer Management

• Help the Cinema Manager build, manage and support the team of nurses and volunteers to assist in the duties outlined above and to ensure that screenings run safely and smoothly – this will include assisting with recruitment and creating monthly rotas.

Marketing and Relationship Management

• Be proactive in marketing the service within the hospital, building key relationships with hospital staff and members of the Infirmary’s Charity.
• Help develop and manage effective partnerships throughout the hospital and community
• Representing the organisation effectively and compellingly at all times.
• Support the programming and development of the MediCinema as a centre for entertainment, being pro-active in developing a creative programme of sustainable events at each site. This could include fundraising events, live performance and other relevant activities.

Administration and other duties

• Deputise for the Cinema Manager as and when required.
• Provide holiday or emergency screening cover when required.
• Help manage the collection, loading and returning of films.
• Champion the work of MediCinema within the hospital and cinema environment, as well as confidently and positively representing MediCinema in all interactions and at any meetings and events.
• Contribute to the strategic development of the Newcastle MediCinema, operations and MediCinema as a wider organisation
• Communicate effectively with all team members, ensuring an inclusive and whole organisation approach

The Hepatitis C Trust has developed projects nationally whereby peers use their lived experience of injecting drug use and hepatitis C, to provide education and training to service users and staff in drug and alcohol, hostel and homeless services, increasing hepatitis C awareness, access to testing and referral to treatment, for people living with hepatitis C.

We are looking for a passionate and skilled peer lead who has excellent communication and organisational skills. Working under the guidance of the West Yorks Peer Programme Manager, this post will continue the development of the project, recruiting and coordinating peers across identified areas of the West Yorkshire ODN network. Working in partnership with hepatitis C clinical teams, drug and alcohol services and homeless service providers, the post will coordinate delivery of educational workshops, hepatitis C testing in community settings, ensure that service users are referred and supported through hepatitis C treatment and care.
