You would join a supportive, dedicated and financially literate team, working closely with the General Manager and the Director of Education & Participation. You will be an important part of the Ex Cathedra ‘family’ - musicians who deliver the highest quality performances and participatory experiences.

THE ROLE

We are excited to advertise this full-time Finance Manager vacancy (£37,500-£40,000). The role encompasses the financial operations of the charity - from purchase ledger and payroll to preparation of the management and statutory accounts and delivery of Board reports. In autumn 2024 we migrated to iplicit, with the potential to realise further efficiencies.

• Deliver the financial accounting process, including timely and accurate purchase ledger and sales ledger, processing payments accordingly
• Undertake bank reconciliations
• Monitor debtors and creditors 
• Process payroll and pensions
• Ensure statutory obligations and deadlines are met, including payments and reports to HMRC for PAYE & NI
• Prepare annual accounts and meet external audit requirements in accordance with current SORP
• Prepare creative tax relief claims
• Cashflow forecasts
• Prepare management accounts and reports for the Board of trustees and other financial reports that may be required
• Calculate and submit VAT returns
• Prepare financial documents for Arts Council England submissions
• Work with the team to ensure accurate project projections

ABOUT YOU

We anticipate you will be part- or fully-qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CIPFA), and excited by the opportunity to have operational responsibility for the full financial processes of Ex Cathedra. You are the kind of person who is equally willing to support the strategic planning of the organisation and to roll up their sleeves to ensure sales invoices are raised and suppliers are paid efficiently.

Essential:

• Experience of working in a complex finance role, preparing statutory and management accounts
• Experience of owning/managing efficient finance processes and controls
• Highly proficient and confident with modern, cloud-based finance software, spreadsheets and other relevant software
• An understanding of partial exemption VAT
• Knowledge of charity SORP

Desirable:

• Recent experience of iplicit, charity SORP and partial exemption VAT would be very helpful
• Interest or experience of supporting strategic initiatives and developments

About StreetVet

Homelessness continues to rise across the UK, and for many individuals experiencing it, their pet has been a vital and integral part of their life, often long before they lost their home. The bond between a person and their animal can be profound, offering emotional support, companionship, and a sense of purpose. For many, their pet’s wellbeing is a top priority, even in the most challenging circumstances. 

Accessing veterinary care while living on the streets, sofa surfing or living in a hostel or temporary accommodation provider can be incredibly difficult. That’s where StreetVet comes in. We are an award-winning national charity and a registered veterinary practice with the RCVS, providing free, accessible vet care to pets belonging to those experiencing homelessness across the UK. Our dedicated team of volunteer veterinary professionals deliver essential services where support is needed. We take our experience out of the consulting room and onto the pavements to provide the same first opinion vet care you would expect to receive in a practice. 

StreetVet also works to remove barriers to accommodation and homelessness service through our Accredited Hostel and Day Centre Scheme, which helps hostels, day centres, and hubs implement positive pet policies and become pet-inclusive. This includes free veterinary care for registered pets, staff training, essential pet supplies, and access to virtual vet consultations via our telemedicine platform. The scheme empowers hostels to welcome pet owners without forcing them to choose between a roof over their head and their beloved companion.

Role Description

The Hostel & Day Centre Coordinator (North) will work closely with the Hostel and Day Centre Manager and the Coordinator (South) to ensure the effective administration and smooth day-to-day operations of the StreetVet Accredited Hostel & Day Centre Schemes. This role plays a key part in welcoming and onboarding new hostels and day centres into the network and supporting the ongoing engagement and success of existing partners. By fostering strong relationships with hostels, day centres, suppliers, and sponsors, the post holder will help build a connected and responsive community that ultimately supports more pets accessing hostels and day centres. Acting as a central point of contact, they will collaborate across internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure queries are addressed efficiently and support is delivered consistently. 
 
StreetVet is a small team of 15 employees and so we expect people to be highly flexible in their roles, a team player with a “can do” attitude, willing to turn their hand to anything that needs to be done.

Job title: Life Skills and Activities Co-Ordinator

Hours: 35 hours (full time) working at least 4 days in our office near Victoria

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the world? Do you want to leverage your skills to combat homelessness for children and young people? Then we have the perfect opportunity for you.

We are looking to recruit a life skills and activities co-ordinator to concentrate on building and expanding relationships with young people living in our supported accommodation as well as families in Westminster who attend sessions in our Family Services department. This is a unique and rewarding role in our Employment & Learning Team that will involve meeting and working with residents in our supported accommodation on a one-to-one basis and in groups, facilitating activities and evaluating and building evidence that these interventions have made a difference. Your work will focus on supporting our residents (aged 16-25) on-site with their Life Skills development. You will also work holistically to support the families who attend sessions in the Family Centre and who attend outings and “away-days”. The role also requires facilitating our study club (aged 13+) and group ESOL sessions (19+).

You’ll work closely with NHS and community partners, line manage Peer Leads and Coordinators, and oversee key projects including: 

• Liver Health Peer Support, improving early detection and surveillance for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). 

• Peer-led Needle and Syringe Provision (NSP) and wider harm reduction initiatives.

About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Registered Practitioner Psychologist with a background in clinical psychology to join our team in Croydon. The service offers a psychologically informed environment across four sites, providing low to high support forensic mental health services to our residents with forensic mental health needs, complex conditions, and dual diagnosis. In this role, you will drive the delivery of evidence based psychological assessments and interventions aimed at the rehabilitation and reintegration of our residents into the communities. This is a creative, evolving, and impactful role which works closely with our Group Psychological Lead and wider teams to provide support to staff and at times residents to support in providing a streamlined and psychologically informed service.

Key Responsibilities include: 

• Provide advice, guidance, and support to the team with supporting our residents to overcome personal challenges and create a supportive environment
• Advise and streamline best practices, and enhance the overall skills and expertise of the team to deliver high quality care and support
• Provide clinical supervision to the team
• Provide highly specialised psychological assessments for our residents with mental health and complex needs
• Exercise full clinical responsibility for residents psychological care as a care coordinator within a multidisciplinary team
• Formulate and implement plans for various therapy routes and management of assessing mental health conditions based upon appropriate conceptual frameworks and evidence-based practices

About You

We're looking for someone who is a self-starter, able to proactively encourage, take leadership and ownership for creating a psychologically informed environment. You will be able to communicate highly complex and sensitive information effectively within the organisation and with external partners, collaborating with external stakeholders regularly in a multidisciplinary approach. You will be able to utilise your own expertise and support in empowering the wider team to enhance their skills to deliver a service which is supportive, safe, and in line with best practice for the organisation and external regulatory bodies. 

• HCPC Registration is essential
• Post-graduate doctoral level training as a Registered Practitioner Psychologist including models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics, and neuropsychology, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology
• Previous experience working as a qualified clinical and/or forensic psychologist, including working with people with complex backgrounds/needs and a good understanding of the sector we run our services in
• Ability to teach, train, consult, and deliver clinical supervision
• Understanding of criminology, psychology, and behavioural patterns, and how they link to different behaviours and engagement
• Ability to understand and apply safeguarding protocols as they arise
• Ability and willingness to show flexibility in working patterns, responding to the needs of the service and residents

Who We Are

 Our charity was established in 1992, to provide care and support to people in Sussex, living with and affected by HIV. Over the past three decades there have been huge advances in treatment and care for those affected by the virus. People taking effective anti-retroviral medication (ART’s) can live long lives, with HIV becoming undetectable and untransmittable.

Whilst people who are living with HIV can live longer, many develop other physical co-morbidities as they age and many experience social and self-stigma. Our service users are often from marginalised groups, who often experience inter-sectional discrimination and health inequalities. Many of our service users experience socio-economic disadvantage and have multiple and complex needs.

The Sussex Beacon offers a range of services to people who have been living with HIV for decades through to those who are newly diagnosed.  Our services include:

· Peer Mentoring

· Living Well Exercise Programme

· Day Services and Group Work

In addition to our HIV services, The Sussex Beacon has announced that it is to become a fully inclusive Hospice, providing dedicated Hospice care to the LGBTQ+ community.

The Sussex Beacon has two charity shops in Brighton and an active fundraising team, who help raise the money we need to keep our services running for the people who need them across Sussex.

The Role

This is an exciting time for The Sussex Beacon, as we are about to launch our new 2030 Strategic Plan and move to a new era of delivery, through the evolution of our end of life and palliative care for the LGBTQ+ community.  The Sussex Beacon will be the first Hospice of its kind in the country tackling stigma and health inequalities for those who are most marginalised in our community.

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Mass Participation Lead to join our Income Generation team. Working alongside the Head of Income, you’ll take the lead on planning, delivering, and growing our portfolio of mass participation events, including some of the UK’s most iconic runs:

• Brighton Half Marathon – proudly owned by The Sussex Beacon
• London Marathon
• Brighton Marathon
• Vitality 10k
• London Landmarks Half Marathon
• Great South Run
• Red Run

In addition, you’ll collaborate with the Head of Income on the development and launch of two exciting new events scheduled for 2026/2027.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead on all aspects of mass participation fundraising events, from recruitment and engagement of participants to event-day logistics and post-event stewardship.
• Develop and implement creative campaigns to maximise participant sign-ups, fundraising income, and supporter retention.
• Build strong relationships with participants, corporate partners, and event organisers to enhance The Sussex Beacon’s presence and reputation.
• Support the Head of Income in the strategic growth of the events programme and delivery of income targets.
• Work collaboratively with other members of the Senior Management team to build your understanding of our work and the needs of people living with HIV, LGBTQ+ end of life and palliative care needs and broader health inequalities in the communities we serve.
• Work collaboratively with our Volunteer Co-ordinator to ensure that events are adequately supported.
• Develop and enhance our existing celebrity/high profile runner engagement.

• Excellent communication, organisational, and partnership-building skills.
• A commitment to Pact’s values and a belief in rehabilitation and social justice.
• Applicants must have demonstrable experience working directly with children and young people. Whilst we appreciate the valuable skills gained from working within adult services, including HMP and similar settings, this role specifically requires experience supporting, engaging and safeguarding children and young people. People Adviser – Employee Relations

About the role

This is a hands on role providing first line HR advice and support across the organisation. You will be a trusted point of contact for staff and managers, helping them resolve people issues with confidence while ensuring policies are applied fairly.

You will also support the People Partner and Business Partner with employee relations casework, HR administration, policy compliance, and general queries. Your guidance will help managers lead well, improve consistency, and strengthen staff engagement.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing first line HR advice to managers and employees
• Supporting employee relations cases including performance, disciplinary and grievance matters
• Ensuring HR policies are applied fairly and consistently
• Managing HR administration including contracts, changes, absence records and exit interviews

You will be joining a specialist national charity supporting the health and wellbeing of deaf people across the UK. Services include care, therapy, advocacy, domestic abuse support, and children and young people’s services. Their work is delivered by deaf people for deaf people in British Sign Language, and they are recognised as one of the largest disabled people’s organisations in the UK.
