We are recruiting for a Philanthropy Manager (Major Donors) to join on a full-time basis, working 35 hours per week on a permanent contract.

This is a home-based role, though you will be required to travel to attend donor meetings and some team-based meetings and training, so you must reside in the UK, have the correct right to work documents to work in the UK and able to travel to our London flagship office when required.

The Major Donor team is growing fast, doubling their income target last year to fund even more critical dementia support services and research. As Philanthropy Manager you will help us to reach our goal of securing £5+ million a year from Major Donors by 2027.

In this role, you will work with the Major Donor Lead to forge new relationships, grow our prospect pipeline and build connections with sector specialists (such as wealth managers). We are especially keen to deepen our engagement with South Asian communities, where we have dedicated support programmes and a growing base of supporters. This role will give you the chance to deliver meaningful impact on the lives of people affected by dementia

About you
Joining us, you will have a proven record of securing major gifts from philanthropic individuals. You will have an entrepreneurial approach and be able to demonstrate how you have secured new opportunities and built lasting relationships and long-term income.   

You will be a confident and engaging communicator, adept at collaborating with stakeholders internally and externally. You must understand the motivations of social impact investing for supporters and be curious and highly motivated about ending the devastation caused by dementia.

This role provides a great opportunity for an established fundraiser to grow our pipeline, an area that we know has huge potential for growth. You will get the opportunity to work on a variety of interesting and vital programmes of work that provide help and hope for everyone affected by dementia. 

You will have either be able to build or have pre-existing (personal or professional) links to South Asian communities. You will be able to develop a cultural insight, or experience working within these networks, you will play a vital role in helping us build trust, broaden our reach, and connect new prospects to the Society’s ambitious vision.

What you’ll focus on:

- Forging close relationships with philanthropists, with a focus on engaging the South Asian community with our work.
- Managing a portfolio of donors, to provide our supporters with best in sector stewardship.
- Building networks with philanthropic ‘intermediaries’, such as private wealth managers and family offices.
- Cross-team working with our Insurance United Against Dementia and Sport United Against Dementia development boards, to grow our philanthropic networks.

Scotty’s Little Soldiers is a UK-based charity dedicated to supporting military children and young people (0 to 25 years) who have experienced the death of a parent who served in the British Armed Forces. At Scotty's, we believe every bereaved military child deserves our support. As Head of Grants, your role is to secure and manage major, long-term grant funding, maintain strong relationships with funders, and report on our impact to encourage continued support.  

I am accountable for…  

• Strategic Grant Income Growth: Developing and delivering an ambitious pipeline of grants income that not only meets but exceeds our annual agreed income budgets. Securing those multi-year, high-value grants that fuel the long-term sustainability of the charity's strategic growth and allow us to reach more families.  

• Grant Funder Relationships: Cultivating and expanding deep, long-term, and genuinely mutually beneficial relationships with a diverse portfolio of military and non-military grant-making organisations.   

• Grant Portfolio Management: Overseeing the lifecycle of all awarded grants, ensuring reporting, optimal allocation and tracking of funds (balancing restricted and unrestricted to best serve our families), and administrative oversight to maintain high standards of compliance and transparency which our funders expect and deserve.  

• Impactful Storytelling and Application Development: Translating Scotty's heartfelt mission and profound impact into compelling, donor-centric narratives and high-quality proposals that truly stand out from the crowd. • Best practice grant management: Championing the very best practices in grant fundraising, positioning Scotty's as a charity of choice for major grant-makers.  

• Financial Stewardship & Forecasting: Providing regular, insightful forecasting of our grants pipeline (using Salesforce) and working with the Finance Team to ensure funds are being correctly used and logged - so we always know where we stand.  

I am responsible for:  

• Grant Strategy & Planning: Developing and implementing the grants strategy with a comprehensive, rolling programme of grant applications that are perfectly aligned with our charity’s strategic plans and agreed annual budget. We'll be focusing on securing those larger, transformative grants that make a real difference to starting each year with a higher percentage of funding already secured.  

• Funder Research & Identification: Proactively researching and identifying new, high-potential funding opportunities that truly resonate with Scotty's mission and strategic priorities. This means using industry best practices and relationship building to find our perfect partners.  

• Proposal Development & Submission: Leading the end-to-end development of high-quality, persuasive grant applications. This involves crafting compelling narratives from the heart, developing robust budgets factoring in overheads, and ensuring timely submission.   

• Relationship Management & Stewardship: Building and nurturing strong, long-term relationships with both our existing and prospective funders. This means regular, personalised communication, sharing impactful updates and acting as a Scotty’s ambassador at funder events and meetings.  

• Grant Management & Reporting: Meticulously managing all stages of awarded grants, including careful financial tracking (using Salesforce), ensuring we always adhere to grant agreements, and compiling comprehensive, insightful end-of-project reports that truly demonstrate our impact and foster continued support.  

• Internal Collaboration: Working closely with our Families team, Finance Team, Comms Team and Fundraising Team to identify funding needs, gather powerful impact data, and ensure seamless delivery and awareness of all grant-funded activities. We work to weekly transparent Success Measures (3 key agreed metrics which help show we’ve had a great week and give leading and lagging indicators on how we’re doing), monthly and quarterly budget targets and short, daily and weekly team huddles to share good news, keep our culture forefront and ensure we can best support each other and deliver for the charity.  

• Pipeline Management & Forecasting: Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of grant opportunities, regularly tracking progress, and providing accurate forecasting to help us make smart, strategic decisions for our future.   

• Data Management: Ensuring all grant funding information, relationships, and communications are accurately inputted and updated on our charity’s CRM database (Salesforce). Keeping things tidy and organised is key for good governance.  

• Grants landscape: Staying abreast of the trends and developments in the grants and trusts sector, identifying new approaches and opportunities to enhance Scotty's fundraising efforts and keep us ahead of the curve.  

• Team Support: Providing a helping hand with administrative support to other areas of the charity if required. We're all good team players here at Scotty's, and we always support each other.  

3-Month Goals:  

• Onboarding & Immersion: Dive deep and achieve a comprehensive understanding of Scotty’s operating system (The Scotty’s OS), our values, our behaviours, our mission, and the significant impact we have. This will happen through intro meetings with everyone on the team and a tailored onboarding program.  

• Grant Portfolio Audit & Handover: Conduct an audit of our existing grant portfolio, reviewing active grants, reporting schedules, and our funder relationships. We'll begin the handover process for existing relationships with the Head of Fundraising, ensuring a smooth transition.  

• Funder Engagement & Feedback: Reach out and initiate contact with at least 5 key existing funders. This is about listening, gathering their valuable feedback, understanding their priorities, and beginning to build those personal, trusting rapports.  

• Pipeline Initiation: Identify and qualify a minimum of 5 new potential grant-making organisations. We'll prioritise those who truly align with Scotty's mission and have the capacity for significant, multi-year funding – our future partners.  

6-Month Goals:  

• Income Target Ownership: Take full, enthusiastic ownership of ensuring we are on track to hit our existing grant budget lines. You'll provide regular and accurate forecasting, keeping us all informed and confident.  

• Relationship Deepening: Strengthen relationships with at least 5 key funders, leading to demonstrable progress towards increased or renewed multi-year support.  

• New Grant Acquisition: Secure at least 2 new grants of significant value (e.g. £10k+) from previously untapped funders, showcasing your success in converting those pipeline opportunities into real impact.  

• Strategic Grant Mapping: Develop a comprehensive grant funding strategy, outlining key target areas, funder tiers, and a detailed timeline for our major applications for the next 12-18 months.   

• Impact Reporting Enhancement: Collaborate internally to refine and enhance our reporting mechanisms. We want to ensure our data is readily available and tells the most compelling story for our funder reports.  

9-Month Goals:  

• Multi-Year Grant Success: Secure at least one new multi-year grant partnership with an annual income of £50k+, truly demonstrating your ability to unlock larger, sustained funding that makes a lasting difference.  

• Pipeline Expansion & Value: Add £100k+ of new, qualified grant fundraising opportunities to our pipeline each month, always with a keen eye on those high-value prospects.  

• Income Exceedance: Be on track to exceed the annual grant fundraising target, demonstrating strong performance and strategic growth that helps more bereaved military families.  

• Innovation & Best Practice: Introduce at least one innovative approach or best practice (e.g. involving AI) to our grant fundraising strategy. This could be a new, heartwarming cultivation event, a bespoke reporting format, or a new research methodology – anything that helps us grow.  

• Personal Development & Leadership: Review your personal development needs and opportunities, actively seeking ways to enhance your leadership in the grants sector and contribute to the wider fundraising team's success. We believe in growing together.  

Essential Criteria  

• Proven experience in charity grant management.  

• Strategic planning: Ability to develop, implement, and evaluate grant strategies that align with the charity’s mission and objectives.  

• Financial acumen: Competence in budgeting, financial monitoring, and reporting for grant programmes.  

• Stakeholder engagement: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with funders, beneficiaries, partners, and internal teams.  

• Analytical and decision-making ability: Skilled in assessing applications, monitoring outcomes, and making evidence-based decisions.  

• Excellent written and verbal communication: Ability to produce clear reports, guidance, and correspondence tailored to a variety of audiences.

Why Access Social Care Exists 

Every day, millions of older and disabled people are denied the social care they need. Most local authorities can’t meet the growing demand for care, and none are confident they can meet their legal duties in the future. This affects all of us - we will all need social care at some point in our lives.

Access Social Care provides free legal advice and information for people with social care needs, helping achieve a better quality of life. We work with communities to increase knowledge of the law and our rights. We highlight the gap left by cuts to Legal Aid and provide advice for those who can’t afford it. 

With a 98% success rate, our network of lawyers provide access to justice when things go wrong. We collaborate with social services whilst ensuring legal obligations are met. We are working towards a future where social care is adequately funded, and we all get the support we need. 

We provide rights awareness training to front line managers, and legal advice and support to families and individuals. As well as providing access to justice, our aim is to drive system level change through evidence-led influencing and strategic casework.

About this job

This year, we’ve embarked on a bold, strategic initiative to enhance our data capabilities.

We’re aiming to improve our data use, integration and analytics to increase engagement, maximise impact and drive forward our strategic goals. With a key focus on: effective and efficient operations; collaboration; and continuous improvement in our Technology, Strategy and Business Intelligence teams.

To achieve this ambition, we’ve developed a new technology infrastructure which we are calling “Sage”. We are implementing new technology infrastructure this year (such as our new CRM system and suite of data tools – Microsoft Dynamics).

Our Infrastructure Systems Manager plays a crucial role in the development, support and maintenance of these systems, implementing the tools and technology we need as well as driving the reduction of IT costs where possible.

This role is responsible for:

• Maintenance of technical infrastructure based on Microsoft technologies
• Automated process creation to ensure systems are monitored and managed
• Migration of remaining on premise systems to Microsoft cloud based solutions
• Maintenance of legacy systems and processes where necessary

• Broad expert technical knowledge of IT Infrastructure based on both cloud and on premise Microsoft technologies

This role is about designing and implementing strategies, tools and platforms that support shared learning and collaboration among organisations working towards cleaner air. Working closely with the Head of Learning and Innovation, you will lead a global needs assessment across multiple cities, which will inform the development of a training programme for movement building leads at the city level, with pilots of that approach in two cities. You will develop a knowledge sharing approach, movement building infrastructure, and tools to support sustained engagement. You will also contribute to producing learning products and co-delivering capacity building activities. • Produce a report with an approach for knowledge sharing and movement building.

 Pilot a movement building project in two cities (35%)

• Co-design a movement building model in 2 pilot cities to foster a clean air movement. This will be a practical, replicable guide that defines the essential elements of a high-functioning, impactful CSO movement within a city. 

• Assess the cities’ civil society ecosystems’ gaps and leverage points and map the current landscape of civil society actors working on air quality in each of the 2 cities. • Co-design a movement building training package, including a guide for future use with guidance on shared strategy, collaboration structures, mapping additional civil society organisations, and communication mechanisms.

What You Would Bring

‎ 

1. Experience in civil society movement building and campaigning, working with coalitions and collaborating with partners. Highly skilled network builder.

2. Demonstrated success in leading and designing Training-of-Trainers or other capacity building programmes in cross-cultural settings. 

3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling presentations and reports for diverse audiences and translate complex materials into understandable content. Experience producing visual materials is a plus. Experience with narrative and/or messaging projects is also a plus.

4. Experience of leading and/or delivering creative campaign strategy and planning a plus, with a particular interest in digital campaign tactics and techniques. 

5. Exceptional project management, organisational, and administrative skills with a proven ability to independently manage multiple priorities and complex workflows. 

6. Strong understanding of learning, innovation, knowledge management, and facilitation.

7. Experience and comfort with working across regions, cultures, and time zones.

• Pay is competitive in all hiring regions. The salary band for this role in USD is $70,000 - $82,000.

Laurence’s Larder is a small, dynamic and beloved local charity that feeds over 300 people a week. Working with a vibrant team of over 90 volunteers Laurence’s Larder provides a weekly food parcel service, two-course sit down meal, clothes bank, art café and access to support and advice services.

Laurence’s Larder is non-referral and open to all, we bring people together, alleviating both social isolation and food poverty, while utilising surplus food. We are also endeavouring to help address some of the underlying needs that contribute to food poverty, and continue to add more support services to our offerings.

We are looking for an individual who shares these values for the role of Operations Manager; to oversee the day-to-day running of our services, leading and supporting the volunteers to do this, ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety & food hygiene standards, support the Project Director to achieve agreed outcomes and goals.

We are currently looking at expanding our services by adding an additional service day a week on Tuesdays. This role provides the unique opportunity to be a part of the creation of this service.

ROLE OVRVIEW 

We’re looking for a creative and strategic thinking individual with strong writing skills to lead the development and delivery of compelling digital content that aligns our key messages to key audiences. You’ll play a vital role in increasing our visibility, strengthening our voice, and positioning Fields in Trust as the go-to organisation for commentary, advice, and support on parks and green spaces.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Develop and implement a digital content plan aligned with organisational strategy and goals, collaborating with media partners and creative agencies as needed. 

• Ensure consistent messaging across all digital channels and audience segments. 

• Create engaging, high-quality content (written, visual, and video) for our website, social media, and email newsletters. 

• Design and implement standardised templates for external communications (e.g. partner presentations) to ensure consistent brand tone and messaging across teams.
