A key requirement of the post is to hold a JNC Level 6 Youth and Community Work qualification or equivalent (or due to complete 2026- 2027). High Trees is seeking a Youth Employment Support Service Coordinator for our Build Your Future programme. Build Your Future is a targeted youth employment project supporting young people aged 16–24 who are not in education, employment or training (NEET). The project provides holistic, person-centred support combining outreach and engagement, pastoral support, employability skills development and progression into education, training or work.

The project is primarily delivered in-house by High Trees, working in partnership with other local delivery partners. Build Your Future focuses on young people facing multiple barriers, including care-experienced young people, migrants and refugees, young people with SEND, and those experiencing social or economic exclusion.

The Build Your Future Project Coordinator plays a central role in ensuring the effective day-to-day delivery of the project. Working closely with High Trees delivery teams and partner organisations, the postholder will coordinate outreach and engagement activity, support the provision of high-quality pastoral support for young people, and ensure strong project coordination, monitoring and reporting.

This role will suit someone who is highly organised, collaborative and passionate about supporting young people facing multiple barriers into education, training and employment.

The role requires a balance of coordination, communication and relationship-building skills. You will work closely with colleagues across Employment & Careers and Children, Young People & Families teams, as well as with delivery partners, to ensure Build Your Future is delivered to a high standard.

The post holder will also play an important role in monitoring and evaluation, maintaining accurate records and supporting reporting requirements linked to external funding.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES  

• To assess the needs of each client, helping to develop their individual support plan to achieve their goals

Membership Growth & Engagement Manager (Direct Debit Membership)

Who we are:

We want to create a world filled with wildlife, and we do this through pioneering community engagement and Rewilding Our Future. For us, rewilding is about rewilding people as well as rewilding nature, reconnecting communities to the natural world and restoring functional ecosystems through habitat restoration and species reintroductions.

From our work to reintroduce beavers to London for the first time in 400 years, to restoring river catchments with water voles, we focus on interventions that create real ecological change on the ground. We support landscape-scale recovery too, from bringing back iconic species such as white storks and working on wider habitat restoration across East Anglia. 

The need

To grow Citizen Zoo sustainably, we need to grow our secure unrestricted income. Our monthly, direct debit membership currently brings in around £10k per year, and we’re aiming to grow this towards £60K per year within the first 12 months (or 1,000 equivalent members), through improved digital acquisition, better retention, and a strong on-the-ground recruitment presence across London.

Who you are

You are an adaptable, entrepreneurial fundraiser/marketer who loves turning public interest into long-term support. You are equally comfortable improving a digital join journey and writing supporter comms, and getting out in the field, setting up a stand at events, speaking to the public and signing people up to monthly direct debits. You thrive working independently, you’re confident working to targets, and you use data to learn fast and improve performance. You’re motivated by building something that compounds: a membership base that grows every month and funds rewilding for years to come.

The Team & The Role

We’re a not-for-profit social enterprise with a team who mostly work from home in London. You’ll work as part of this remote team from home, our shared desk spaces in central London, and out on the ground at events, partner venues and project sites across the city and beyond. You’ll work closely with delivery and communications colleagues to turn audiences (visitors, volunteers, event attendees, online supporters) into loyal members, and ensure members receive a positive, joined-up experience that retains them long term.

What you’ll do

You will own and deliver a data-led membership growth plan that increases acquisition, improves retention, and grows member value (including upgrades from £3 → £5/month over time). You’ll sharpen Citizen Zoo’s membership proposition so it clearly connects supporters to our impact, and you’ll turn that into campaigns and activity that consistently convert interest into monthly direct debits.

Digitally, you’ll create and optimise the online join journey (landing pages, forms and messaging) and run recruitment activity across email and social. You’ll work with agency partners to plan and launch Meta and/or Google campaigns, shape and iterate creative, manage a monthly marketing budget, and improve cost-per-join and conversion rates through ongoing performance monitoring.

For retention, you’ll build joined-up supporter journeys from welcome/onboarding through impact updates, renewal/retention thorough engagement and exclusive membership offerings, upgrade prompts and lapsed reactivation. You’ll use segmentation and insight to keep communications relevant, strengthen the member experience, and reduce churn.

On the ground, you’ll lead in-person recruitment across Greater London at events, fairs, community days and partner sites, setting up an effective stand, engaging the public, and signing people up to direct debit. You’ll keep improving the recruitment “kit” (scripts, FAQs, signage, QR codes and follow-up journeys) and coordinate volunteer/colleague support when needed.

Ideal candidates will also focus on lifetime value (LTV) of supporting members and as such be able to work towards an appropriate cost-per-acquisition target (CPA). 

Minimum requirements

• Full UK driving licence (hard requirement), candidates will not be considered without one (please ensure you list this on your CV). 
• Demonstrable experience growing income or supporters through membership, regular giving, direct marketing, subscriptions, fundraising, or performance marketing.
• Experience delivering campaigns across digital channels (email/social), and using data/insight to improve results.
• Confidence in communicating with the public, including proactively starting conversations and handling objections.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple workstreams independently.
• Willingness to travel across Greater London and work occasional evenings/weekends (time off in lieu provided).

Preferred requirements

• Experience managing a membership scheme (acquisition + retention) with clear performance targets.
• Experience using a CRM or ticketing/membership platform (e.g., Hubspot, Salesforce, Spektrix, Tessitura or similar).
• Experience running or supporting face-to-face fundraising/membership recruitment at events.
• Experience managing external suppliers (design/print/digital) and working with paid social agencies.
• Understanding of GDPR-consistent supporter communications and supporter care best practice.

Success measures (first year)

In your first 12 months, success will look like building a repeatable membership growth engine that consistently brings in new direct debits through a combination of digital campaigns and in-person recruitment, while improving retention so income compounds over time. 

You will be expected to help grow membership income from around £10k/year towards £60K/year, supported by clear monthly targets, a functioning reporting dashboard, and evidence-based optimisation of messaging, channels, and supporter journeys. You’ll also put in place a retention programme that reduces churn and increases lifetime value, so membership becomes a reliable, scalable source of unrestricted funding for Citizen Zoo’s rewilding work.

Working Hours

At Citizen Zoo we have standard working hours from 09:00–17:30, but team members can start earlier or later if agreed with your line manager. This role will require occasional evening and weekend work, particularly around events and recruitment opportunities, and this is given back as time off in lieu.

Location

Must be able to travel regularly across all of London, and across other parts of Greater London, to deliver events and recruitment activity.

We’re looking for a Fundraising Engagement Officer with excellent communication skills and team ethic to join our team of fundraising experts in the Fundraising Events & Engagement Team. This is a role of variety and relationship building, and we are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, dedicated, and versatile.

We’re the innovative, thoughtful, and collaborative Fundraising Events and Engagement Team: DIY, sports, and virtual fundraising specialists. We want our supporters to feel welcomed, engaged, inspired, and motivated. We’re innovative relationship managers, and we’re always using our initiative to seek out possible improvements so that we can adapt, hone our skills and deliver the best possible experience for our supporters. From reporting to copywriting and volunteering to digital innovation, as a team we have a wide range of skills and we’re constantly supporting each other’s development so that we can continue evolving.

A great personality and team ethic are vital in this role as you will maximise income for Young Lives vs Cancer by coaching supporters to reach their fundraising goals, ensuring they have the most positive time possible with every interaction. This role sits within the Mass Participation team, and we need someone with natural customer service skills who is passionate about delivering an outstanding experience to our supporters. We communicate with our supporters in a variety of ways, so we’re looking for someone who can build a relationship via phone, email and social media.

We are a close team who work from the Bristol office 5 days a week, but we offer flexibility and are adaptable to ensure that your personal work/life balance is taken care of. What will I be doing?

No two days are the same at Young Lives vs Cancer. So, summarising your ‘day to day’ isn’t easy. Here are some of the main things you’ll be doing, but you’ll find more details in our Role Details document.

• Maximising income and awareness by building and maintaining strong supporter relationships
• Stewarding our supporters over the phone and via email, among other methods, using a combination of individual and mass communication tools, and providing our supporters with an excellent experience with every interaction

We also want to enhance the events we deliver for university open days and offer holder days to showcase why students should choose Kent. Operational Duties

• To oversee and co-ordinate our Give it a Go Programme, ensuring a variety of safe, inclusive and engaging events, trips and opportunities are delivered across the year. Day to day activities might include planning, setting up and delivering events through a small student staff team, liaising with our marketing department to promote the programme, monitoring attendance, seeking student feedback and completing risk assessments and ensuring the safety of attendees.
• To co-ordinate our presence at Arrivals Weekend and deliver a series of events as part of Welcome Week including supporting the delivery of Welcome Fair.
• To co-ordinate Kent Student Union’s presence at University Open Days and Offer Holder Days held on Saturdays, ensuring they are staffed, interactive and showcase Kent Students’ Union’s impact on the student experience to prospective students.
• To support the delivery of wider KSU events as and when required such as Summerball.

The Youth Employability Service

CXK delivers the Youth Employability Service (YES) across East Sussex, commissioned by East Sussex County Council. We offer information, advice, support and guidance to young people in academic years 12 and 13 who are not in education, employment or training (NEET), helping them to explore their options, plan and then take their next steps. We also work with schools supporting young people in year 11 who are at risk of becoming NEET and those who have been Electively Home Educated. Liaising with a range of other services, YES is focussed on supporting young people to achieve their potential.

The Team

The YES team support young people from across the county, seeing them at CXK bases, partner venues or in community settings. The team assess and action plan with young people referred to the service, supporting them to understand their options and take steps toward achieving their goals around education, training and /or employment. Working with a wide range of young people, the team approach is focused, creative and persistent, building on young peoples’ confidence and motivation alongside their skills and personal growth.

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Skills and Employability Adviser.

You will support a caseload of young people aged 16 to 18 who are not in education, employment, or training (NEET), or at risk of becoming NEET with part of your caseload being Electively Home Educated Year 11 young people who may be at risk of becoming NEET. You will guide them through re-engagement with suitable post-16 provisions and provide targeted intervention to those who have withdrawn from or not started their Post 16 provisions.

Working across the West of the county, including Wealden, with schools and FE Colleges you will play a key role in ensuring that young people receive the tailored guidance and support they need to progress confidently into further education, training, or employment. You will build positive working relationships through co-located working, and accurate input into relevant databases.

This role also supports our Electively Home Educated Year 11’s with transition support to their Post 16 pathway.

You will maintain regular contact with the young people you support, building trust and ensuring that casework is delivered with care and consistency. Your role will involve assessing needs, action planning, reviewing progress, and adapting support as required. You'll also act as a champion for relevant opportunities and resources—ensuring young people, parents/carers, providers, and wider stakeholders are aware of what’s available and how it can help.

About You

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience working with NEET, Risk of NEET young people, who understands the post-16 education and training landscape and the importance of person-centred support. You will be a confident communicator and collaborator, able to manage a varied caseload and make a genuine impact on the lives of the young people you support.
