About the role

Funded by the Department for Education, the National Peer Support Service for England is a game-changing service that creates a sustainable and life-changing legacy. It builds on Kinship’s 10 years of experience in developing peer support groups and over two years of delivering a national service that has set up 145 new groups.

This role is community-based and focuses on engaging kinship carers, bringing them together to form peer support groups, and supporting them to achieve independence at which point they will receive ongoing support from our national Hub.

You will do this by working with local authorities, schools, other charities and community groups. Arranging information events such as coffee mornings to engage kinship carers. You’ll create a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive community for kinship carers, building belonging, resilience, and empowerment.

About you

We are seeking a dynamic person located in or close to Greater Manchester, and willing to travel into priority areas across the North West of England who possesses the drive, passion, and skills to: 

• Establish new peer support groups across a diverse range of communities 
• Supervise a small team of Peer Support Development Officers 
• Demonstrate the energy and enthusiasm required to inspire yourself and your team to achieve key targets and objectives 
• Work collaboratively within the Peer Support and Community Team, as well as throughout the broader organisation, to ensure the delivery of safe and effective support services for the kinship community
• Support the sustainability of existing Peer Support Groups, taking the lead from the Hub (our network support Team)
• Keep precise records to create reports, extract learning, and share key insights throughout Kinship, enabling the organisation to enhance our services and products continuously

In the role of Senior Peer Support Development Officer, you will be instrumental in ensuring the delivery of a high-quality, consistent, and sustainable peer support service that has a significant impact on the lives of kinship carers. 

You should have experience in developing and maintaining meaningful relationships with various community-based stakeholders such as local authorities, health services, schools, charities, and kinship carers. You will need to understand the key success factors involved in establishing and developing new in-person groups in areas of high need, as well as how to support existing groups in their journey toward sustainability.

An essential requirement of the role is to be a driver with access to a vehicle for work purposes.

Essential requirements include:

• Experience of team leadership or line management and supervision of a small team and managing performance to deliver targets effectively.
• Proven experience in reaching and establishing strong relationships with hidden or underserved communities in person.
• Experience developing peer support communities.
• Proven experience of recruiting, managing, training and supporting volunteers in community settings with an emphasis on understanding and working with vulnerable volunteers.  
• Proven experience of ensuring outcomes and impacts of services is evidenced through high-quality data collection.  
• Evidence of delivering training/support to volunteers, 
• Strong facilitation skills and essential experience of peer support or user led groups with charity beneficiaries.  
• Understanding of safeguarding particularly around vulnerable families.

Role Purpose

Hatch is on a mission to build a more equitable entrepreneurial ecosystem, one where underrepresented founders have the resources, support, and funding to thrive. We are looking for a relationship-driven Fundraising Manager to secure, steward, and grow funding partnerships across trusts and foundations, corporates, and high-net-worth individuals (HNWI).

You will play a key role in unlocking income growth through strong relationship management, compelling bid and proposal writing, and strategic prospect research. While managing your own portfolio of funders, you will also support senior fundraisers to progress high-value partnerships, developing your skills and confidence as you grow your own partnerships.

At Hatch, we are not limited by opportunities but by capacity. Demand for our programmes is greater than ever, from beneficiaries as well as from funders.  Over the past four years, we have made significant strides in fundraising, growing our income from £500k per year in 2019 to over £2m in 2024. Your role will focus on:

• Developing and managing partnerships across corporate, trust and foundation, and individual giving audiences.

• Securing new funding opportunities and supporting income growth, working closely with the fundraising and marcoms team.

• Leading engagement activities including funder and prospecting events and  funder experiences.

• Ensuring strong reporting and impact measurement for our funders.

Key responsibilities

• Manage partnerships - Steward a portfolio of trusts, corporates, and individual donors, ensuring consistent communication, timely reporting,  and strong funder retention.

• Lead on bid and application writing - Write tailored and compelling funding applications, proposals, and case materials for grant-giving bodies, corporates, and HNWIs.

• Support senior fundraisers across the team - Assist colleagues working on major partnerships by providing background research, preparing proposals and meeting materials, and helping to coordinate follow-up actions.

• Provide regular updates and comms to funders - Ensure all funders receive timely, engaging updates on programme delivery, impact and outcomes, maintaining trust and strengthening long-term relationships.

• Identify and qualify new prospects - Proactively research and assess new funding opportunities. Bring warm leads into the pipeline and contribute insight to support strategic alignment.

• Respond to inbound funding enquiries - Manage and convert lower-level inbound opportunities, ensuring prompt and appropriate responses that align with Hatch’s offer and impact areas.

• Maintain accurate CRM records and support reporting - Keep the fundraising pipeline up to date in Salesforce and Monday. Track deadlines, ensure data accuracy, and support internal reporting and team coordination.

• Coordinate cross-team collaboration - Work with Programmes and Marcoms teams to gather inputs for applications and reports, prepare for funder meetings, and ensure aligned messaging.

• Use data and storytelling to showcase impact - Contribute to the development of reports, updates, and communications that clearly demonstrate Hatch’s value and the impact of our work with funders.

Person specification

We are looking for a relationship-driven fundraiser who can grow and manage a funder portfolio, write compelling funding bids, deliver employee engagement and volunteering opportunities, and support wider team success. You’ll need to be confident working across income streams and motivated by social impact.

Essential skills and experience:

• Excellent relationship management skills, with experience stewarding funders or clients

• Strong bid and proposal writing skills, with the ability to produce clear, compelling content

• Proven ability to research, assess, and qualify new prospects

• Ability to provide timely, well-crafted funder communications and updates

• Experience in creating and delivering funder volunteering and engagement activities.

The Wise Group is a leading social enterprise working to lift people out of poverty.  St Giles and The Wise Group came together to form a partnership with the aim of supporting the Probation Resettlement reforms by offering a high-quality service underpinned by staff who have lived experience and cultural competency.  As a result, we have been awarded contracts to deliver Personal Wellbeing Services for North and South Wales. These services will involve a range of support to community offenders and prison leavers including families, emotional wellbeing, lifestyle and associates and social inclusion (including meet at the gates).

About this exciting opportunity

Working as part of a multi-agency team, you will provide person-centred support to a caseload of service users who will either be serving community sentences or being released from prison.  You will undertake assessment and action planning with individual service users, create a safe and trusting environment, using trauma-informed practice to successfully facilitate a supportive and constructive relationship with service users, plus deliver a range of interventions to service users which contribute towards achievement of prescribed outcomes.

We will also count on you to develop and maintain positive working relationships with external agencies, including probation, prisons, partners, and others who will assist in achieving prescribed outcomes for service users, ensuring you work towards contractual targets and outcomes within agreed timescales.  Using agreed CRM databases and recording all activity relating to caseload and providing updates and reports are also key duties.

What we are looking for

• Experience working with partner agencies either as part of a multi-agency team working towards common objectives or negotiating to establish links to further the aims of a project
• L3 in Advice and Guidance or equivalent (desirable)
• The ability to assess clients’ needs and provide tailored, client-led support through action planning and interventions involving advice, guidance, advocacy, and coaching
• An ability to work sensitively with clients applying trauma-informed strategies
• Impressive IT, relationship-building and communication skills, both verbal and written.

The National Youth Agency is looking for a new Campaigns and Media Manager to join our Policy, Insights & External Affairs team.

About the Role
 
Responsibilities of the role comprise:
 
Campaign planning

• Lead the delivery of an ambitious and creative media and campaign strategy to bring about an improved recognition of the value and impact of youth work.
• Lead on other campaign strategy and planning, utilising a range of campaign tactics integrating media, digital media and other campaign tactics, working closely with other members of the Comms team and across Directorates.
• Oversee campaign activity for the annual Youth Work Week, to ensure the campaign engages key opinion formers and provides an opportunity for those within the sector to celebrate the impactful work they do.
• Analyse campaign effectiveness, including setting and tracking metrics across digital and traditional media.
• Ensure campaign plans are fully scoped and uploaded to the online project management system.
• Leading on strategic approaches to celebrity supporters / ambassadors and ongoing relationship management.

 
Press Office function

• Lead proactive media monitoring, enabling timely responses to significant developments and tracking positions on issues relating to NYA’s work.
• Develop key messages and positioning statements on issues in the youth sector and NYA’s activities, role and stance and promote consistency of messaging across NYA’s channels.
• Managing and responding to reactive media enquiries, providing statement and reactive ‘lines to take’, with the support of the Head of Communications
• Producing engaging content for various channels and audiences including press releases, blogs, opinion pieces and media briefings to elevate NYA’s profile and demonstrate our expertise and thought leadership.
• Managing the media monitoring and media database, nurturing relationships with target journalists, as well as online news outlets and thought leaders on key strategic issues.
• Confidently working with charity and corporate partners to maximise opportunities to demonstrate the impact of their support.
• Provide line management and development support to two Communication Officers.

 
About You
 
Essential competencies of the Campaigns and Media Manager:

• A self-starter brimming with creative ideas and proven experience of designing and executing high-impact campaigns that bring about a measurable change in knowledge, behaviour and / or policy.
• Strong interpersonal skills for building effective relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders, including political audiences, and confident in growing new relationships and leading meetings.
• An ability to grasp complex information and distil key messages for different audiences and crucially, which tactics and channels to use to engage them
• Have proven experience and a strong understanding of the UK media landscape, with demonstrable experience of having nurtured relationships with national and sector journalists to garner high-quality coverage.
• An understanding of how to use research and intelligence gained from listening exercises and other stakeholder insights to inform campaign messaging and metrics.
• Be skilled in developing media strategics and developing case studies and using data to create compelling new hooks
• Be proficient in evaluating campaigns and media outputs, with the ability to derive insights that inform future strategies.

About the role

This role provides tactical and targeted support to our District teams as we seek to enable our volunteers to deliver training to both cadets and volunteers in line with the Sea Cadets Learning Strategy.  This post is responsible for supporting the delivery of the district training, including Royal Marine Cadet (RMC) training activity at Troop level. The work location can be flexible (home or office-based) requiring regular evening and weekend working supporting our volunteers by attending virtual meetings and delivering online training.

Responsibilities

• To provide functional support to our area Training Managers and District and RMC Troop Teams, ensure the district training plans are delivered, amended as necessary throughout the year, to the training plan and in line with identified training needed to best support the delivery of the Sea Cadet Experience.
• To support specific District Teams including the District Training Officer (DTO), District Recreational Officer/ Deputy District Officer (DRO/DDO), District Staff Officers (DSO), and RMC Troop Commanders (Trp Cdr) identified as requiring support under our change management process.
• To work closely with all District Officers to increase the number of certificated, current and competent instructors, and develop the capability and capacity of District Instructors to deliver training to cadets and volunteers across all Districts.
• To support the ATOs/DTOs/RMC Troops in all training matters (including uniformed and unit management teams) with a specific focus on Districts/Troops that need support.
• Support our Programmes and Virtual Training Manager with the co-ordination the of delivery of appropriate MSSC and other approved training packages (including BTEC, Duke of Edinburgh’s Award) appropriate to the age and experience of cadets across the organisation.
• Work under the leadership of our Assistant Director Sea Cadet Learning monitor performance against set targets set by the National Support Centre to ensure equitable access for cadets and adults to the Sea Cadet Experience.

Requirements

• • Experience in working with youth groups and awareness and understanding on the challenges young people face.
  • Experience in coordinating and supporting a programme of training activity.
  • Experience in coaching and mentoring volunteers.
  • Experience of drawing data to create support plans for delivery of activity.

7. Develop, implement and monitor FYT’s strategic plan in partnership with the FYT team and board
8. Engage in practical theological reflection on FYT’s mission and how it is expressed.
9. Attend and contribute as required to Board meetings, working closely with the Chair and Board to ensure that appropriate issues are raised, and that any agreed action is put into effect.
10. Be an advocate for marginalised young people, the issues they face, and youth workers and projects working with them (pursuing prophetic mischief, provocation, and taking up our unique space in the youth ministry community).
11. Make links with appropriate Christian, voluntary and statutory bodies and to represent FYT in appropriate forums and pursue opportunities for collaborative working.
12. Support the active promotion of the FYT training and resource offer.
13. Lead the monitoring and evaluation (impact assessment) of FYT’s work

Other functions:

1. Meet regularly with Line Manager for supervision.
2. Undertake administration and keep necessary work records.
3. Comply with all FYT policies and procedures.
4. Work collaboratively with the FYT leadership team and Board to ensure that organisational policies are regularly reviewed.

• The Leadership Team is supported by a contract with Giraffe HR that assists in the day to day running of the organisation, primarily managing the finances of the organisation.
