We are looking for someone with qualitative research skills, including active listening, attention to detail, interviewing and being able to analyse, interpret and write up research findings. You will need to be skilled in facilitation for coordinating meetings, delivering training, workshops and focus groups. You don’t need to have extensive experience of research design but you should have the ability to understand and engage with community members, to grasp the implications of what you hear and communicate that engagingly with others in written and verbal formats. Self-motivated and able to work both independently and collaboratively, you will be committed to delivering results in order to solidify Action Hampshire’s reputation as a trusted and impactful deliverer of funded projects and services. - Support the creation of event branding (from brief to production to delivery)
- Process and transfer participant data to relevant parties ensuring GDPR compliance
- Shaping, presenting and managing budgets for additional activation plans that meet client objectives
- Create live event documents e.g. master schedules, info desk and crew briefing sheets
- On-site event management of the client relationship and front of house registration and info desk areas and crews
- Co-ordinate event debrief meetings and prepare final evaluation reports

THE ROLE
The Development Manager will proactively develop programme ideas into winnable proposals and progress income from institutional donors as well as trusts and foundations. About the role:

About the role
Reporting in to the Partnership & Strategy Lead, the Contracts and Portfolio Manager for the East & Southern Africa region provides strategic oversight and management of Christian Aid’s restricted funding portfolio across the Multi-Country Cluster (MCC).
The post-holder will ensure effective delivery, compliance, and reporting for donor-funded programmes while contributing to Christian Aid’s organisational values and goals, and plays a key role in building relationships with donors, ensuring contract compliance, and supporting programme teams and partners in delivering high-quality programmes aligned with organisational values and goals, while fostering a mindset of connection and enhancing collaboration.
The role is critical for ensuring that each programme achieves an integrated total economy approach, with all work (donor funded or not) fitting into the programme focus and partnerships driven new model.
Some of the main responsibilities of the Contracts and Portfolio Manager include:
- Lead the management and oversight of restricted programme delivery across the MCC aligning with organisational values and goals, while ensuring complementarity with unrestricted initiatives.
- Provide management oversight for effective contract management and compliance for all donor contracts within the MCC restricted income portfolio, to ensure maximum impact.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external donor contacts as the main point of contact for Christian Aid to foster a mindset of connection.
- Oversee donor-funded programme expenditure budgets and appeal funds, advising the MCC SLT to ensure teams have what they need to deliver donor funded work, e.g. correct staffing in place to ensure regular reviews and corrective action taken as needed.
- Implement a robust donor portfolio risk management framework and support audits to ensure consistent high-quality work is delivered, and ensures the donor portfolio is strategic and delivers on strategic focus and model.
- Work closely with MEAL colleagues to ensure donor reporting obligations are met across the MCC contract portfolio, ensuring consistency of delivery and alignment with decolonised MEAL approaches.
- Foster a team mindset by engaging in a dynamic way across the cluster, and by providing coaching, guidance, and professional development opportunities for the Restricted Funding Officer.
- Collaborate with internal teams such as MEAL, Finance, Advocacy, and Operations to ensure integrated programming approaches and foster a mindset of connection.

ActionAid UK (AAUK) is a complex, values- driven organisation which is implementing an exciting new 2025-2028 strategy with one overarching goal:
Decolonise our systems and practices to tackle the root causes of inequality and justice. Four strategic goals will steer our direction:

Alongside the strategy, a transformation and innovation programme will embed a fundamental shift in the way the organisation operates, involving significant and sustainable changes to its culture, systems and practises. Transformative change at AAUK means change that is fundamental, lasting, and which challenges existing internal and external structural inequalities. These changes will also be guided by our Theory of Change and our feminist, decolonial and anti-racist principles.
A priority is to change the way we currently approach monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning (MEAL) at an organisational level, looking specifically at how we assess change and impact across our yearly organisational plans and within the four-year strategy.
AAUK is seeking a qualified consultant or a company to collaboratively design, develop and deliver a new approach to capturing change and impact at ActionAid UK, moving the organisation away from traditional types of metrics and methods.
We are looking for you to conduct a light-touch review of our current organisational methods and tools and develop a new organisational transformative change framework, training workshop and action plan. We would like this consultancy to:
- Develop an approach to capturing transformative change and impact over time which captures gradual/incremental or exponential changes.
- Capture systematic changes and shifts in thinking and behaviour/culture
- Enable staff to feel confident to gather and interpret evidence of change alongside diverse experiences including their own
- Enable AAUK to capture collective contributions to change, recognising that no single action or individual makes change happen.
- Help us use the information we gather to inform and improve our work and better understand our unique role within the complex ecosystem of organisations and partnerships in which we work.
Objectives of the assignment
- Review and support the transformation of our organisational monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning processes to align with our new strategy and decolonial approach.
- Develop an organisational transformative change framework/toolkit and action plan, enabling staff to confidently capture impact over time and foster a culture of innovation, learning and accountability across the organisation.
Deliverables
The consultant / firm will work in collaboration with colleagues from AAUK Leadership and Transformation teams to:
- Create a plan and methodology that is aligned to our strategic objectives, decolonial approach and transformation activities.
- Conduct a light-touch process review, including desk research and conversations with key members of staff – to understand our current organisational monitoring and reporting processes, methods and tools.
- Develop a new Transformative Change organisational framework/toolkit which includes methods and tools for measuring change at organisational and team level and establishes a baseline from which we can improve and which captures both successes and challenges.
- Develop a staff training workshop on the new framework and tools.
- Provide a workplan with future recommendations and actions.

Required skills and experience
The successful consultant/firm should demonstrate:
- At least 5 years of experience working on MEAL system design and implementation in the INGO or development sector.
- Experience of working with WROs or social rights movements.
- Strong knowledge of innovative qualitative and quantitative MEAL methodologies.
- Experience in participatory approaches and facilitating organisational learning.
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills.

Crisis at Christmas is our unique event, with centres across Britain offering people experiencing homeless food, clothing, advice and support with health, housing, employment and benefits, as well as a safe space to stay at an extremely challenging time of year.
Our Christmas Case Management Team work across the Crisis at Christmas services in London. We provide support to guests of Christmas experiencing homelessness and who lack support from other services. We are looking for an experienced, skilled and driven person to join the Case Management Team as a Case Manager. In this key role, you will support a caseload of people experiencing homelessness. You will ensure the accuracy of records and data, compile reports which evidence our impact, oversee financial systems and support the mapping of services across London reporting. The role also provides opportunity to supervise volunteers, collect feedback from members, and support the team manager with service development.
You will receive support with training, regular supervision, and professional development.
