In this role, you'll support the learning and development of young people into the next generation of health citizens. Do you want to invest your time supporting women who are marginalised in Tower Hamlets? Do you feel called to social justice and want to do something about it? For over 20 years we have been supporting women involved in selling sex. Many of the women credit our Door of Hope project with being key to their sense of wellbeing whilst on the streets and for some, their exit from selling sex.
We are recruiting new volunteers to continue delivering consistent outreach, early morning, and late evening, spanning different days of the week.
We need volunteers to work with the women we support. We are looking for women with:
- A vision for reaching out to women involved in/affected by selling sex/sexual exploitation.
- Empathy, compassion and a non-judgmental approach.
- An ability to build trusting relationships whilst maintaining personal boundaries.
What you can expect from us
- An opportunity to work together to see an end to sexual exploitation.
- A friendly, supportive, and experienced team.
- A positive volunteering environment, including volunteer induction and ongoing supervision and support.
- Safeguarding and outreach training
- Access to free organisational training around working with women.
What we ask from you
- A regular time commitment to take part in outreach, 1 session a month with 1 session as a back up.
- Be available to attend Induction and training sessions (including a Christmas social)
- A commitment to reflective practice – taking good care of yourself, contributing to team or 1-1 supervision, responding reflectively to your experiences with Door of Hope
- An openness to learning and working together.
- Availability to attend team meet ups 4-5 events a year (usually on a Monday or Tuesday evening)
We are looking for local volunteers:
- If you live within 8 miles of Tower Hamlets, we can cover the cost of late night, safe transport to and from the outreach meeting place via Taxi.
- If you live outside an 8-mile radius of Tower Hamlets it would be helpful if you had access to a car or be willing to contribute to the cost of a taxi home.

The Bird of Prey project is seeking new Trustees to join our Board and help guide the next phase of our growth and impact. The Bird of Prey Project is a multi-award-winning visitor attraction and registered charity in Bath, Somerset. Our visitor centre is home to 22 resident birds of prey and owls, and we run multiple conservation and education programmes. Our dedicated team works tirelessly to advocate for wild birds of prey and the ecosystems they live in, as well as to improve the welfare of raptors in captivity in the UK.
We are particularly keen to hear from candidates with experience in:
- marketing and communications
- managing a visitor centre or attraction

Commitment:
The Board of Trustees meets six times a year, usually in the evening, at or near The Bird of Prey Project, Newton St. Loe, Bath. Attendance via video conferencing is also supported. In addition, Trustees collaborate with the Charity Manager and at times other staff members on an ad hoc basis to help achieve the charity’s aims and objectives.

No Panic is a national charity at the frontline of accessible help for anxiety sufferers.
The No Panic Helpline is open 365 days a year between 10am and 10pm.
Those who call us can be struggling across a range of anxiety disorders: OCD; Panic Attacks; Phobias or General Anxiety Disorder.
We train our helpline volunteers to provide sufferers with all the information they need to begin the process of self-help recovery.
This is a remote volunteering opportunity where everything is done from home, including training, and there is never a need to attend elsewhere. This makes it the ideal opportunity for those with mobility or fitness issues.
Our volunteers work a 3-hour shift once a week.
Initial training is one evening a week for 8 weeks (for a small charge of £25 to cover costs), with backup support for the first 8 weeks on the helpline. There is continued support via bi-monthly support groups.

Responsibilities: Facilitators are responsible for designing creative and interactive workshops for our young people, and delivering these workshops with our young people. We are a small and friendly team of Trustees who are currently looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join us and become a Trustee for our wonderful charity, Wiltshire Portage. Wiltshire Portage supports families who have children aged birth to school entry with additional needs, empowering parents and carers to help their children to reach their full potential as they transition into school and beyond.
There has been a rise in the number of children who have additional needs over the past few years and research has shown that early intervention is vital in helping these children to develop. At Wiltshire Portage, we have a team of experienced Home Visitors who regularly visit families who have young children with additional needs. During visits, Home Visitors identify areas of support that are needed and deliver child-led learning activities through play. Having a child with additional needs can be challenging and Home Visitors are also able to support parents and carers; providing information and sign posting them to organisations who can help.
As a charity, Wiltshire Portage relies on a team of Trustees to work with the CEO in the running of the charity. Trustees are asked to attend a meeting (this is currently carried out virtually) once every two months in the evening.

At Student Minds, we’re working to improve university communities so that no student is held back by their mental health. So it should come as no surprise that we are keen to reflect the communities we serve, maintain a diverse board and ensure student voices are represented. This is key to our mission and our continued impact.
We are open-minded about the professional background of this individual and are mostly looking for someone with experience of leading effective, inclusive teams, of chairing complex organisations or meetings, and in building influential cross-sector partnerships.
Key responsibilities
Student Minds Chair is expected to commit to the following:

Preparation and attendance at four board meetings a year. Board meetings are held online and take place on weekdays from 5 - 7.30 pm.

Preparation and attendance at two in-person board away days each year, usually from 12.30 - 5 pm. These usually take place in Leeds and include a lunchtime or evening social.

Monthly supervision calls with the Chief Executive

Annual in-person appraisal of the Chief Executive

Support with board appraisals and recruitment

Ad-hoc meetings and conversations with the senior leadership team as required. This usually constitutes approximately a further five working days a year.
