We are recruiting a Challenge Events Fundraiser to grow PAPYRUS’ challenge event income by leading on allocated PAPYRUS own events, projects and campaigns and managing all third-party challenge events.

What you will do:

• Develop an events plan that will grow income using data from previous years to understand our supporters and build a creative and sustainable income plan for long term growth.
• Build and manage relationships with supporters across all communication channels and provide professional, relevant, timely and empathetic stewardship at all times.
• Raise awareness of PAPYRUS and its work by developing and delivering presentations and talks both online and face to face to supporters and facilitating necessary photo opportunities in line with GDPR for use if future promotional activity
• Manage costs and budgets for events, including forecasting, estimates and future year planning.
• Be proactive seeking out new initiatives and market trends in fundraising across the UK charitable sector.
• Participate in the development, implementation, and maintenance of PAPYRUS challenge event fundraising assets, collateral, materials, and policies and procedures ensuring all content is on brand and to a high standard.
• Working with colleagues in Business Support Services to use the data collected across all donation platforms to analyse and inform required reports and update existing reporting mechanisms.

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Previous experience of working in a fundraising role for a UK registered charity

The Operations Manager is a new leadership position that will play a pivotal role in the delivery of FFLAG’s operations which span online, offline, and local group support for parents and carers of LGBT+ loved ones. FFLAG is a national voluntary organisation and registered charity and is the UK’s longest established parent support charity in the LGBT+ sector. Our history began in the grassroots parent helplines of the 1960s, grew through the 1980’s and 90’s as we supported anxious parents and fought against the discrimination of Section 28, becoming a formally registered charity in 2000.

We’re looking for an Events Lead who will deliver an ambitious, high-quality programme of events in support of our mission. Based in the Influence team, you’ll play a pivotal cross-organisational role in delivering events in support of our national network of Voice 21 Oracy Schools, sales and marketing, and our fundraising and public affairs goals. 

Your responsibilities

Event development, planning and management

• Support the development and delivery of Voice 21’s Events Strategy, in alignment with our organisational plan 

• Work collaboratively across the organisation, especially with key stakeholders in the Growth and Fundraising teams, to ensure alignment with organisational goals, and effective coordination between teams 

• Plan and manage Voice 21’s annual flagship events: responsible for ticket sale and revenue generation targets; attendee experience; and co-ordination of content generation and programme design

Key Tasks

Volunteer Engagement and Support

· Develop and grow the engagement in branches & SIGs and support volunteers to build new groups and networks.

The Finance Manager role will make a significant difference to how we manage our finances, at an operational and strategic planning level.  We are looking for an individual who is excited by the prospect of transforming our financial governance and management. 

Role overview:

The Finance Manager will work closely with the CEO, Treasurer, and bookkeeper to manage daily financial functions, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive financial performance - including budgeting and forecasting. 

• Contract and working conditions: This is a fixed-term role (initially 18 months) which we envisage will transition to a permanent position. Hours will initially be 17.5 hours per week with remote and flexible working arrangements. Candidates must have the right to work in the UK and be based in the UK.

• Strategic responsibilities: The Finance Manager will support financial target delivery, ensure robust financial systems, and align financial processes with organisational growth and strategy. 

• Operational duties: Responsibilities include preparation of management accounts and all financial reporting, cash flow forecasting, grant management, VAT and tax compliance, audit support, and process improvements. The role also involves liaising with external suppliers and stakeholders and overseeing payroll and pension scheme implementation and management.

• Governance and compliance: The Finance Manager will ensure adherence to the requirements of the Companies Act, Charities Act, and HMRC regulations, ensuring we prepare and submit our statutory accounts on time.  You will coordinate the annual audit, review internal controls, and report financial risks to the ESPE leadership.

• Leadership and collaboration: The role includes providing financial guidance to coordinators and teams to support informed decision-making. 

• Required experience and skills: Candidates must be a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/AAT/ICAEW) with at least three years experience in financial or management accounting, preferably in a professional body or learned society. Proficiency in accounting software, and having significant knowledge and understanding of VAT (ideally across Europe), analytical skills, communication, and project management skills are essential. 

• Personal attributes: The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail, resilience, collaborative skills, ability to manage multiple priorities, and alignment with ESPE’s mission.
