The successful candidate will lead on delivery of our voluntary sector support activity, working as part of our award-winning Barnet Together partnership with Young Barnet Foundation and Groundwork London.  You will ensure we continue a strong delivery of our offer and that we increase membership and engagement, and act as Inclusion Barnet’s Operational Lead within the partnership.  You’ll undertake some delivery yourself, supporting groups with funding applications and more complex governance queries.  You’ll also convene Barnet’s Environmental Network, and attend some key local meetings to provide representation of the sector’s views. 

To succeed, you will either have previous experience of supporting community groups in a sector support role, or solid experience of third sector management, governance and fundraising.  You’ll be excited by the challenge of delivering this unique service and keen to build on the success of Barnet Together to date.

Overview of the Team  

The Corporate Services team provides essential strategic and operational support across the organisation. Our governance function oversees compliance, risk management, and performance frameworks. The finance team manages budgets, financial planning, and reporting. All of this contributes to effective decision making. We are also responsible for looking after our properties, which includes maintaining oversight of two commercial leases, and maintaining Dartmouth House which is a grade II* listed events venue and our Head Office in Mayfair.

 Purpose of this role  

The Senior Governance Officer will provide high quality support to the Board of Trustees and its sub-Committees, and the Chief Operating Officer. This role will work closely with the Executive Assistant to the Director General.

Responsibilities and Expectations  

• Provide governance support including the preparation and timely circulation of agendas, papers, minutes and action logs for Board and Committee meetings.

The role 

This is a great time to join GamCare as we are growing the reach of our services. We are looking for Gambling Support Practitioners with qualifications or experience in health or social care, and an empathic style to enable people to change their behaviour through skilled intervention.

Crucially, you will ensure that psychosocial and recovery support interventions are delivered as part of a cohesive recovery plan while working collaboratively with external and partner organisations to achieve positive outcomes for service users. 

There will be lots of opportunities to participate in service promotion, networking activities and events to support the visibility of the service, as well as developing relationships with local services and communities to strengthen pathways into the service. 

We are looking for an individual to work full time, which will include 3 days working 9-5pm and 2 days 12-8pm per week (fixed), Monday to Friday. However, due to the possible requirements of the service, occasional Saturdays (9-2pm remotely) may be required. Another day off would be agreed on during the week.

Key Responsibilities

• Providing face to face and online advice, assessments, and brief and structured interventions to help clients achieve their recovery goals, using motivational interviewing and cognitive behavioural approaches
• Providing safe and effective support to individuals whilst managing safeguarding issues in line with safeguarding procedures and policies 
• Maintaining collaborative working relationships with external agencies, professionals and groups to facilitate multi-agency approaches and holistic support

About you

You should have significant experience in individual client work in the field of addictions, mental health or a social care setting with adults or young people. You should be flexible in using a range of low and high-intensity interventions and modalities including cognitive behavioural tools.

You will need to live at a reasonable distance from GamCare London office due to expectations of working from the office when required, as well as being able to travel to other locations across Greater London to deliver services or attend community events.

About the role

Our residents in this service have experienced long-term street homelessness and have faced significant challenges including with their mental health, substance use, and alcohol dependency, and struggled to sustain engagement with support services. That's why they're here, to make a change and gain the support they need to enable greater independence and recovery.

In this role, as a Support Mentor, you will work within a 24 hour service which provided person centred support to our residents, working to ensure the safety and wellbeing. You will build trusting professional relationships with residents, helping them to achieve their goals and aspirations which could be through tailored one to one sessions, group sessions, in and out of service activities, and general wellbeing check ins. Your role will focus on empowering our residents to take control over their lives and meet their personal goals. 

About you

We're looking for someone who has a true passion for what we do as an organisation, and particularly in supporting those who have faced homelessness and may have other complex needs. Our residents needs are at the forefront of service delivery, so someone who can build trusting professional relationships is key. You will be adaptable, proactive, and able to use your initiative to resolve challenges.. You will be able to work within a team, and have previous knowledge of the needs our residents may have. Each support plan is tailored to the individual, putting their needs first for the team to be able to deliver support to their needs. What are we looking for:

Main Responsibilities

Project Management 

Deliver work targets on time and to standard to support the Foundation’s data and systems: : 

•  Support the day-to-day operations and management of all systems within the Living Wage Foundation designed to enable the functioning of Living Wage accreditation schemes. 

•  Proactively seek out systems improvements to make our processes more efficient so the Living Wage Foundation continues to provide an excellent service to the Living Wage network. 

•  Provide operational support for all aspects of the accreditation and recognition systems, including identifying and fixing errors. 

• Maintain integrity of Salesforce database; identify and source incomplete information within the database; take responsibility for tidying, cleansing and backing up existing data. 

• Support maintenance of integrated systems, including syncing data to Act-On and the website. 

• Work with Operations and Data Manager to keep templates, forms and related communications materials up to date 

• Manage merchandise administration including email inbox, day to day queries, and Shopify administration.

  Learning and expertise

Communications

• Champion systems throughout the organisation and advocate for systems-based solutions. Offer ad hoc guidance to the team and help communicate any changes to systems. 

• Run systems surgeries for colleagues to answer ad hoc enquiries and support learning. 

Develop and manage external relationships 

• Communicate effectively with our external contractors (e.g. merchandise suppliers) to ensure contracts are fulfilled in a timely manner. 

• Help identify suitable new suppliers to meet organisational need. 

Develop and manage internal relationships 

• Support Operations and Data Manager to identify technical solutions to meet organisational requirements. 

• Monitor and respond to operations and data enquiries from colleagues. Work effectively with colleagues across Citizens UK, actively participate in the team and organisational wide events. 

Income and resources 

• Maintain Salesforce data integrity to support accurate and timely invoicing. Help ensure the integrity and safety of our data advising wider organisation on best practice where appropriate. 

• Support Operations and Data Manager to track expenditure for Shopify and merchandise suppliers. 

• Contribute to plans and proposals to grow sources of income or resources. 

Contribute towards Citizens UK’s strategic objectives

We’re looking for a Policy Officer who will make a difference to health and social care policy for people with arthritis.  

Within the Chief Executive’s Office, the UK Advocacy and Health Intelligence Department are focused on creating lasting change. We identify creative policy solutions in response to the challenges people with arthritis face. We influence decision-makers through stakeholder engagement, public affairs activity and by campaigning alongside people with arthritis. We have expertise across health and care services, public health, and employment policy. We also work in collaboration to influence medical research and data policy and play an active role in several cross-sector groups. 

About the role

The purpose of this role is to drive policy development across our policy priority areas. The Policy Officer will lead on specific policy projects, commissioning research, developing policy positions, and producing reports and consultation responses.

This role will cover a broad range of issues across one of our strategic goals – prevention and diagnosis; access to treatment; and living well with arthritis. Our approach considers the needs of people of all ages who have arthritis.

The Policy Officer will also contribute to the wider work of the team, working closely with colleagues in the Nations Teams, the Research Directorate and the wider charity, including by representing us on cross-sector policy groups, drafting briefings, and participating in events and conferences.

We’ll give you autonomy, variety and challenge with opportunities to work with inspirational campaigners, attend events in Parliament and meet senior stakeholders in Government. We’re a supportive team who will value your well-being and professional development.

About the Role

The Assistant Reserves Officer is one of our team managing and developing the Trust’s nature reserves for people and wildlife.  Your work place includes internationally recognised wetlands and woodlands along with nationally important meadows, chalk grasslands and heathland across Hertfordshire and Middlesex.

You will need to have strong experience in practical habitat management, including the use of power tools and machinery, such as chainsaws, brush cutters and BCS mowers. You will have experience of working within a dynamic team and leading volunteers. You will need to have a keen interest in wildlife and preferably a knowledge of the habitats in our area.

No two days are the same as an ARO at HMWT; you will get the opportunity to utilise and develop your practical habitat management skills across our nature reserves including tree felling, coppicing, scrub clearance, hay cutting and pond/ditch management. You will also undertake the maintenance of site infrastructure; assist with the management of livestock; and perform surveying and monitoring of habitat/species, tree safety and infrastructure. These tasks will be delivered working closely with members of the nature reserves team; our volunteer wardens and our practical conservation volunteers.

Willingness to travel throughout our work area and flexibility to work occasional irregular hours is required for this post.

The Head of Individual Giving will be responsible for the strategic development of the NT’s individual giving programmes. This includes the overall management of memberships (£84 - £600), Patron programmes (£1,500 - £12,000), audience appeals, legacies, and special events.

The post holder will manage a team of seven ambitious fundraisers and actively solicit gifts themselves, often working with volunteers, to generate in excess of £5m p.a. from individual donors. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring the visibility and success of the National Theatre’s public fundraising and will create a strategy for delivering ambitious growth in this area.

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced IT Support Officer who can demonstrate proficiency and hands-on experience in IT support or a similar role, with a strong track record of resolving technical issues and supporting end users. The post holder will be an excellent problem solver with the ability to communicate effectively across the organisation.  The role will also involve close collaboration with other members of the facilities team to help maintain audio-visual equipment for meeting rooms and support the general maintenance of the building. 

As the role will be responsible for onsite IT support at our Central London office, it will be suited to somebody looking for a position that is predominantly office based. The team works a shift pattern between the hours of 07:00 – 18:00, Monday to Friday.

There are still many health conditions which impose a heavy burden on millions of people, in the UK and around the world. History has shown us, time and again, that the best way to achieve better human health is through medical research. We know that by investing now, we will see life-saving advances in the future and improvements in health for everyone.

We will offer a salary of between £32,000 and £35,000 per annum depending on experience for a 36-hour week. Ideally you will be a full-time employee, but we are happy to consider a part-time contract (min 0.8 FTE).

We value spending time working in-person to develop strong connections with each other and with our mission, so you will be based at our central London office for a minimum of three days a week (usually Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday) with the option to work remotely for the remainder.
