We’re looking for a strategic and driven Senior Philanthropy Manager to lead on some of Macmillan’s highest-value philanthropic relationships. You’ll manage a portfolio of ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families, securing 6- and 7-figure+ gifts that deliver life-changing impact for people living with cancer.

• Cultivating and managing a portfolio of major donors, building long-term, high-impact relationships.

What you’ll do

1. Internal communications (~2.5 days per week)

As our Internal Communications and Events Lead, you will play a key role in engaging, informing, and inspiring our team with what’s happening at Unifrog. You’ll also help us to work even better together, and to retain a happy and effective team.

Your main responsibilities:

• Coordinate our whole team commss

  • Deliver our internal comms strategy, work towards our People team goal and objectives, and use our House Style.

  • Create our monthly internal Unifrog newsletter, writing your own segments, editing other people’s contributions, and evaluating engagement.

  • Collate data from team surveys and work with the People and Leadership teams to put ideas from the team into action.

• Improve the way that we communicate and work together:

  • Share best practice and deliver training on our comms tools (e.g. Slack, Gmail, Asana).

  • Research, trial and introduce new comms tools or upgrades where appropriate, training the team on how to use them.

  • Join our AI working group, whose goal is to support the team to use AI more effectively (e.g. leading training, sharing use-cases from across Unifrog).

  • Support teams with communication challenges (e.g. streamlining comms traffic).

  • Support team members to easily find the best contact for different questions and tasks.

• Manage our existing comms tools:

  • Audit our usage and budget to make sure we’re maximising value.

  • Manage individual and team subscriptions to our comms tools.

  • Help to troubleshoot team questions and issues.

• Keep our ‘Unifrog Essentials’ and ‘Who to Contact’ documents up-to-date, and support team leads to keep our Dropbox folders organised.

• Work with our Recruitment Lead and Marketing team to shout externally about what’s going on at Unifrog, sharing photos and stories on our website and social media. 

2. Internal events (~2.5 days per week)

Now that Unifrog has 115 team members across the UK and beyond, it’s more important than ever that everyone feels connected, both to each other and to our wider mission. 

We currently have:

1. Three whole company “team days” per year (2x in person, 1x virtual)

2. Two “away days” per team per year (in person)

3. Regular socials at our London office

4. Regular remote socials

Your main responsibilities:

• Plan our whole company team days:

  • Work closely with our CEO and the Leadership team to decide on the team day agenda, budget and format.

  • Find and book venues, hotels, social activities, and meals, and make sure everything’s set up and runs smoothly on the day.

• Support senior managers to plan their away days:

  • Advise on agendas and book venues, socials, and training.

  • Facilitate cross-team collaboration (one of each team’s away days is partly combined with another team).

• Evaluate our team events and continually look to improve their quality, impact, and inclusivity.

• Plan remote socials and office socials for our London HQ.

• Support our Unifrog affinity groups - spaces where team members who share common identities (e.g. being parents), can connect, support each other and champion inclusivity.

• Keep our EDI calendar up-to-date, and mark and celebrate occasions important to people across the team, including cultural heritage months, awareness days, and commemorative events.

Working together

You’ll be part of our People team alongside our: People Assistant, People Coordinator Recruitment Lead, People Lead, Head of People Operations, and People and Operations Director (your line manager).

You’ll also regularly work with a variety of other team members (especially line managers) when organising events.

Key details

• £37,000 - £39,000 per year, depending on experience. Grade B.

• Full-time.

• Split your time between working remotely and at our office in Hoxton, London (a minimum of 2 days per week). Applicants must be commutable to London and can expense up to £12.50 per day for travel, up to 2 days per week.

• 28 days paid holiday per year (plus bank holidays).

As the Arts Administrator you will be an important part of the team, working across the curatorial and engagement programmes to provide essential support in all aspects of our

You will work closely with the Curator and Assistant Curator to help deliver the visual arts programme, contributing to database management, cataloguing and carrying out essential collections care tasks. You will also provide targeted support for key projects including the ongoing inventory of the collection and, where required, support art installations across our sites.

JOB DESCRIPTION 

We are seeking a Head of Partnerships & Events to join our highly successful Philanthropy team. In this role, you will work closely with the Director of Fundraising & Communications to develop and enhance our Corporate and Special Events Programme. This is very much a hands-on role of team leadership and direct account management. This includes six figure partners and our key relationships with Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, The Dorchester Hotel and international insurer Fidelis. Special Events include our Winter Ball which raises over £500k annual and our Golf Day at around £100k. The post-holder has a key role in the management of our Philanthropy & Corporate Board, which bring together industry leader to help move both these programmes forward. There is great freedom to innovate and a healthy pool of local business with an affinity to our cause. The post-holder takes a key leadership role across fundraising and marketing, working with their peers (Heads) and Director to take strategic decisions for wider benefit of the department. Having invested in the team’s capacity, we aim to grow income from c. £1.5m to £2m over the next few years. This in the broader context of a total voluntary income target for the charity of £5m-£6m.

The Head of Partnerships & Events leads a team of two currently, although this may increase. We have a Corporate Manager and Events Manger with support from the Philanthropy Officer.  You will play a key role in building and maintaining relationships with existing and prospective partners of Noah’s Ark. You will ensure our partners have the best possible experience, making them feel engaged and motivated, valued and informed about the impact of their involvement and help them achieve their organisation’s objectives.

In this strategic, hands-on role, you will lead marketing campaigns, manage the customer journey from awareness to enquiry, and ensure every touchpoint delivers a high-quality experience. Using insight and analysis, you’ll provide recommendations to support the growth of our care services and help keep our Homes thriving.

Purpose of the role

• To lead and shape the marketing strategy for our services delivered to veterans and their families through our Homes and out into the local community ensuring strong positioning, visibility, and engagement.
• To take ownership of the marketing required to deliver successful customer journeys across all service areas, driving growth in enquiries, conversions, and service uptake.
• To provide strategic insights through effective reporting and analysis, influencing decision-making at senior level.

Key responsibilities

Marketing & Communications

• Develop, lead, and implement integrated marketing strategies that promote the full range of services provided by our Homes (including but not limited to: Lunch Club, Day Care, Short Breaks, and full-time care), ensuring these remain responsive to changing needs and market trends.
• Lead the development and delivery of marketing strategies for wider services delivered into the local community positioning these as trusted and accessible options for families and carers.
• Use data and insights via Found and other reporting tools to provide regular analysis on enquiries and service performance, producing recommendations that shape future planning.
• Ensure a consistently excellent customer journey, from initial enquiry through to service uptake, identifying opportunities to enhance engagement and improve experience
• Oversee the creation and delivery of engaging content across digital channels, website, and print, ensuring services are presented clearly and compellingly.
• Use your creative flair to design and produce a wide range of marketing assets from brochures to promotional items, to showcase individual Homes and services and strengthen the Royal Star & Garter brand across the group.
• Manage community engagement through service-focused events, such as open days, ensuring they are well-promoted, attended, and deliver a positive experience for visitors.
• Act as a key liaison with senior colleagues across Homes, services, fundraising, and partnerships, ensuring marketing activity supports organisational priorities and service growth.

• Manage and monitor the marketing budget for our care services, ensuring resources are allocated effectively and deliver strong return on investment.
• Provide leadership in maintaining efficient systems and processes across the Marketing & Communications team, including project tracking, storage, and reporting.
• Champion best practice in customer journey mapping, identifying opportunities to enhance engagement and retention.
• Contribute to organisational strategy by providing senior-level insight on service marketing, audience trends, and sector developments.

• To adhere to data protection legislation and to be fully conversant with relevant legislation and the guidelines.

Knowledge and experience

• Proven experience in devising and delivering successful marketing plans with a strong focus on customer experience and engagement.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced marketing environment, effectively planning, prioritising, and managing a varied workload to deliver projects on time and to a high standard.
• Strong knowledge and practical understanding of digital marketing, including social media, email marketing and analytics.
• Good understanding of relevant marketing and charitable legislation and guidelines.
• Experience of enquiry management and reporting systems (e.g., Found) is desirable.

• The ability to travel and work remotely, including the location of our Homes in High Wycombe, Solihull, Surbiton, and Worthing. Travel to the Central Services office in Twickenham will also be required.

Job Purpose

• Support stakeholder management at education courses, including communications with patients, sponsors and event supporters.
