About the role
Research has shown that there is significant potential for new and existing wealth holders to use their resources to fund climate action, and demand for trusted advisors to accelerate both the pace and efficacy of philanthropy. The Impatience Earth team has a track record of delivering quality philanthropy advisory for climate action, and with a growing team we have the capacity to take on new clients.
As the Philanthropy Catalyst Lead, you will be instrumental in building a strong pipeline of clients who would benefit from our climate advisory services. You are someone who is comfortable connecting with and engaging wealth holders, such as high-net worth individuals, family foundations and corporate foundations that have the potential to commit substantial resources (£200k+ year) to climate action.
These clients may be based in the UK or Europe (as reflects the majority of our client base so far) although you will also work with colleagues engaged in catalysing philanthropy in other regions of the world.
You will report directly to the Co-CEO, but also work closely with other members of the team and partners such as the Environmental Funders Network (EFN) to grow climate philanthropy. This is not a fundraising role for Impatience Earth: the primary focus will be to further develop and hone our business development strategy; to find, qualify and cultivate prospects; and to support the delivery of advisory services as needed once prospects are converted into clients.
About Impatience Earth
Impatience Earth is a non-profit climate philanthropy consultancy founded in 2020 with a mission to educate, challenge and inspire wealth holders to take bolder funding decisions to address the climate emergency.
Since 2020, our engagement with over 40 philanthropic foundations and businesses has supported them to make over £250m of new funding available for climate action, and we have already helped them make grants to over 200 different organisations. A great deal of these clients have come from word of mouth and from within our team’s existing connections, and we are now looking to expand our reach beyond our own network.
We have ambitious plans to unlock greater funding for intersectional climate justice work, with bespoke advisory for new climate funders continuing to be a core pillar of our 2026-2030 strategic plan.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Further developing our business development strategy. This would include:
Reviewing and assessing previous and existing business development activities, and prioritising actions
Identifying key target audiences and referral partners
Proposing realistic and stretch targets for our business development activities
Developing concise and effective communications for our target audience, for example, by crafting compelling outreach emails
Researching, qualifying and engaging with prospective clients. This would include:
Using your past experience of engaging wealth holders to suggest new business development or prospect research ideas
Reviewing funder databases for leads and relevant information
Initiating a new (simple!) system of tracking client leads from identification to conversion
Arranging and joining scoping conversations with potential clients
Identifying events and spaces to engage with prospective clients
Initiating and managing key relationships. This would include:
Stewarding prospective clients who are not yet ready to engage with our services
Re-engaging and managing strong relationships with key referral partners and intermediaries, such as EFN, private banks, wealth advisors, family offices and other philanthropy advisors
Representing Impatience Earth externally at meetings and events to meet our business development objectives
Working closely with colleagues to integrate business development across programmes. This would include:
Working with Impatience Earth colleagues who lead our Strategic Communications, Global South and International Partnerships work to guide and support their activities around business development
General support and advice to strengthen all staff members’ business development knowledge and skills
Support client delivery. As and when you convert prospects into clients, we may need you to support client leads with delivery. This might include arranging and facilitating expert meetings and strategy sessions.
What we’re looking for
At least 3 years previous experience of working in major gift fundraising, trust and foundation fundraising, private wealth advisory, or similar that gives you insight and knowledge into the philanthropic landscape, HNWIs, and the networks and ecosystem in which they operate
Someone who enjoys engaging with philanthropists in-person and at events, and comfortable having interesting but sometimes challenging conversations
A proven track record of converting leads into confirmed high value clients (or funders) at the 6- or 7-figure level and managing successful relationships with them
Strong research skills, including ability to use datasets and access information to find and qualify prospects
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
A self starter who is able to think both creatively and strategically about business development; able to work independently but also as part of a dynamic and highly collaborative team
Confidence engaging with different types of stakeholders, especially high net worth individuals, and the emotional intelligence and social skills to build genuine, trusted relationships
A good understanding of the role of philanthropy in the context of social, economic and climate injustices
Committed to tackling the climate crisis with a good grasp of its causes and solutions - though our team will provide training if you have not worked in a climate-focused role before

WSUK Adult Support Co-ordinator Role
WSUK is seeking a part-time adult support co-ordinator (2.5 days per week, working over 4-5 days, 0.5 FTE, £14.1k-£15.6k per annum), based in the Midlands area. This home-based role will provide support to WS affected adults and their families to help improve the quality of their lives. AAFDA is a growing charity, and we are looking for a specialist Children’s Advocate to be based in Scotland. Although home based, travel will be required across Scotland. AAFDA was founded by Frank Mullane in memory of his sister Julia Pemberton and her son Will who were both killed by her ex-partner in 2003.
Scotland is expected to introduce Domestic Homicide and Suicide Reviews (DHSRs) in April 2026. We are looking for a candidate with a good understanding of the Scottish legislative system and good understanding around domestic abuse and how it impacts on children to join our growing charity. Each year, in Scotland, around 25 families lose a loved one to fatal domestic abuse, perhaps one third of this number being domestic homicides and the others being suicides following domestic abuse. The actual number of domestic abuse related suicides remains unknown.
Many of these families suffer significant problems including relationship breakdown, job difficulties/loss and mental and physical health issues. The Children’s advocate will provide expert advocacy, specialist peer support to children, and other services, helping them practically and emotionally. This may include helping them to contribute to DHSRs and providing opportunities to recover from harm for example via trauma therapy and other services.
Through trauma-informed approaches, you will help the children bereaved by fatal domestic abuse:
-To enhance their voice after fatal domestic abuse including by helping them to contribute to domestic homicide and suicide reviews and formal / informal meetings with various professionals.
-By providing residential peer support events, or access to these events for both the children and their carers.
-Via virtual support tools and other resources.
-By developing pathways into groupwork programmes for carers of bereaved children.
-Cope and recover by direct support and by linking into other services, for example, specialist trauma therapy.

Together, we'll ensure that our young people get onboarded and engaged in our programmes safely and with style. Dive deep to uncover any barriers that stand in their way, helping to remove those barriers to enable them to shine and propelling them on their journey towards amazing outcomes. Responsible for a group of young people, for one-on-one support and guidance or just gently pointing them in the right direction. You'll be on a mission to assist with travel expenses and find clever ways to handle their other commitments. You'll champion their support and learning needs with employers, and you'll be the ultimate liaison, working alongside partners like the job centre to ensure that nothing stands in the way of their success!
You’ll also be the guiding light for our delivery partners and service providers as we want them to deliver the best experience and outcomes for our young people. High-fives all around! Roll up your sleeves and deliver employability sessions directly to our incredible young people. You'll also help our Delivery Partners and volunteers do the same, both in person and virtually through our trusty MS Teams. When we're doing things face-to-face, you’ll need to hit the road and be there in person to help with programme delivery or programme visits to make sure all is running as smoothly as possible.
And if that’s not enough to keep you busy, you’ll also be keeping meticulous records of information and data on our young people, volunteers, and partners. It's all about making sure every step of their journey is accurately reflected in our systems so that it complies with our funding contracts.

GMAVSG Worker
Salary and hours: Based on £39,963 per annum for full-time 35 hour week, pro rata according to number of hours worked. This post is for 2 to 3 days / 14 to 21 hours per week: number of hours per week and days of work negotiable, providing you are available during core hours of 9.30am to 4pm for at least 2 days a week.
25 days annual leave, plus public holidays, for 35 hours per week, pro rata according to number of hours worked.
The main work is providing welfare benefits advice to people with asbestos diseases. Training will be given on compensation and industrial injuries benefits for people with asbestos diseases.
You will also assist with campaigning, and with running our Living Well and Families support groups, though the GMAVSG Coordinator will take the lead on these.

Information about GMAVSG
Greater Manchester Asbestos Victims Support Group (GMAVSG) is a registered charity, established by the Greater Manchester Hazards Centre (GMHC) in 1994. You will be doing GMAVSG work but you will be employed by GMHC. GMHC provides information, advice and campaigning on health and safety at work.
The GMAVSG office is in Manchester; all staff work mainly from home, but must be able to do home visits to clients, mostly in Greater Manchester. GMAVSG provides comprehensive free advice on benefits, and basic information on compensation, to people with asbestos diseases. Our help is free. Most of our clients have mesothelioma, a terminal cancer and are men in their 60s, 70s, and 80s who were exposed to asbestos at work. We also campaign on issues affecting asbestos victims. GMAVSG runs two support groups: Families Group for people who have lost a loved one to asbestos disease, Living Well for people with mesothelioma and their families/carers.
GMAVSG Job
The job offers the prospect of doing interesting and worthwhile work, including campaigning, with a particular client group, who benefit greatly from our specialist advice and empathetic support. It is not just ‘conveyor belt’ advice work.
You will be delivering benefits advice to people mainly through home visits in Greater Manchester and some of the neighbouring areas of Derbyshire, Cheshire and Lancashire. Full driving licence and access to a car are essential. The work includes covering a phone helpline on a rota basis, the main purpose of which is to ensure that visits are promptly offered to people newly diagnosed with an asbestos disease.
Recent experience of welfare rights / benefits advice is essential, as are good ICT and administration skills. Training will be given on compensation and industrial injuries benefits for people with asbestos diseases.
A pay rise is due from April 2026 as salaries are normally uprated annually at least in line with inflation.
The post is permanent, and the charity is financially secure for the foreseeable future.
