Kineara has a new vacancy for an experienced Housing support worker to join our small and dedicated team for our new School Housing Advice project.

About the project 

The School Housing Advice Support Project builds on the success of a pilot program and aims to provide tailored housing advice and support to families, particularly those living in temporary accommodation (TA). The project started in January 2025 and is currently being delivered at three primary schools in the borough of Southwark.

The initiative offers practical housing advice, casework, workshops, and legal support through a collaborative partnership between Kineara and Southwark Law Centre. It also addresses challenges such as poor housing conditions, legal proceedings, and impacts on families' health and wellbeing.

About the role 

We are looking for an experienced, motivated and compassionate support worker to deliver housing advice and practical support to parents from four Primary Schools in Southwark. This role involves conducting housing surgeries, providing follow-up casework, and running workshops to empower clients with the knowledge and skills to address their housing-related issues. The successful candidate will work closely with clients to identify their needs and offer tailored solutions to help them achieve sustainable housing outcomes. The role will be based mostly in Southwark, and you will be working in partnership with schools, community organisations and the council to coordinate tailored support for each client to avoid eviction and sustain tenancies, address suitability of the property, mediating with landlords where necessary and providing advice for onward housing when needed. The objectives of these programmes are to avoid evictions, sustain tenancies or move to a better suited property, improve wellbeing and awareness of tenancy rights and housing polices.

About you 

• You will have experience of working with families and individuals with complex needs, as well as some experience of providing housing support.
• You will be an enthusiastic person who has empathy, patience, and a non-judgmental approach to working with clients and who thrives when working independently with a passion to support change.
• You will have excellent interpersonal skills. 
• Have good knowledge of housing policies and tenants' rights, experience of delivering holistic support.
• You will be a solution-minded thinker, have a good understanding of strength-based approaches and be able work committing to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of work.
• Be able to work as part of a team and independently, the roles require you to think creatively and use the resources around you effectively.

About you

We're looking for a Health & Safety leader with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills who is excited to deliver true impact. 

To be successful, it is important that you have:

• Chartered Membership of IOSH (CMIOSH) or equivalent, with demonstrable competence as a Health & Safety leader.
• Significant experience in a senior H&S role, ideally in a complex multi-site organisation (e.g., retail, charity, facilities, or commercial).
• Proven track record of developing and embedding H&S management systems and delivering cultural change.
• Strong knowledge of UK H&S legislation, risk management frameworks, and compliance obligations.
• Experience managing serious incidents, investigations, and regulatory engagement.
• Skilled communicator, able to influence senior leaders and engage volunteers and frontline staff.
• Experience building and leading H&S teams, including developing others' competence.
• Knowledge of security, and safeguarding interactions with H&S.
• Familiarity with ISO 45001 or similar management systems.
• Demonstrable ability to work collaboratively with leaders and influence at all levels.

As Head of Fundraising and Communications, you will hold a key leadership role at the heart of bemix. You will be joining a busy service working as a Night Concierge, you will:

• Provide a first point of contact and safeguarding to clients at night.
• Be responsible for dealing with emergencies, undertaking regular health and safety checks on patrols and through monitoring the CCTV system.
• Report incidents or maintenance issues and communicate any concerns or events to the rest of the team.
• This is a lone-working night role, with support available through an on-call system to ensure guidance and assistance is always accessible when needed.

Typical schedule: A rolling night shift rota, including weekends and bank holidays, usually around 9pm-7.30am with 3-4 days off.

About you

This is a great role to learn about working in the charity sector, many of our specialist workers and managers developed a career after starting in Night Concierge roles.

• You don’t need loads of experience; but some time working or volunteering in a similar environment and an understanding of the issues that affect vulnerable women who may have complex needs will be beneficial. 
• You should have good communication and basic IT skills with the ability to keep records and follow procedures.
• The ability to stay alert and awake during your shift, and work independently.
• Using your initiative to remain calm to identify the appropriate action to take in various situations.

About the Role and the Service

The Carer’s Wellbeing Navigator will play a key role in a new service to ensure unpaid carers in Milton Keynes are supported through a “no wrong door” approach.

Working as part of a partnership delivery hub with other local service provides, the postholder will provide person centred 1-2-1 support to carers of individuals living with mental health challenges and/or addictions. The Navigator will work flexibly offering face-to-face and telephone support to co-create wellbeing plans, strengthen resilience, and promote access to appropriate information, resources and services.

The Carer’s Wellbeing Navigator will also identify opportunities for peer-led support by developing and facilitating peer group(s) empowering carers to share experiences and reduce social isolation.

The role will also contribute to wider awareness-raising of unpaid carers through initiatives such as National Carers Week and the celebration of carers in the community.

Highly dynamic and self-led, the Navigator will actively help to shape the service, building strong links with local partners and ensuring unpaid carers of those with mental health difficulties receive inclusive, and accessible support.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver a service and ensure outcomes which supports unpaid carers who are caring for someone experiencing difficulties with their mental health and/or additions, in line with the service delivery model, contractual requirements and Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).
• Promote and raise awareness of this service across Milton Keynes including building relationships with referral organisations, VSCE and statutory services and the wider community.
• Build effective collaborative relationships with other hub partners and attend partner meetings when required.
• Support with effective referral routes in to and out of the service which break down any access barriers.
• Contribute to the development and review of service delivery.
• Effectively manage and process referrals into the service and prioritise a caseload of unpaid carers that ensures timely and effective support in line with the service delivery model.
• Carry out an initial assessment of individual support needs, priorities and risk, in line with the Access to Service procedure and processes.
• Enable individuals to explore the situation that is affecting their mental health and wellbeing and work with them to co-produce a personalised support plan to help address their immediate needs.
• Offer focused support with the aim of building knowledge, skills, confidence, independence and resilience.
• Signpost, and support to access, other relevant organisations and the wider community offer to address wider issues affecting their mental health.
• Share personalised information and advice about each unique circumstance and provide resources to support the carers mental health and wellbeing.
• Develop and facilitate peer support groups for unpaid carers who are caring for someone experiencing difficulties with their mental health and/or additions
• Carry out health and safety responsibilities as directed by Managers in line with Mind BLMK’s H&S policies, procedures, and guidance (risk assessments, reviews, reporting, safeguarding, incidents/accidents, premises).

Based in an NHS Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) setting, you’ll manage a caseload and deliver tailored one-to-one interventions, including assessments, SMART action plans, job search support, and interview preparation.

You’ll help clients to find work and return to work (after illness or other absence), negotiate workplace adjustments, and collaborate with clinicians, Job Centers, training providers, and legal services for joined-up support. The role includes maintaining accurate records via IAPTUS (our online data management system), contributing to service development, and supporting data reporting.

In this brand-new role, you’ll work for Kidney Care UK and Kidney Wales, engaging with policymakers, healthcare professionals, and those affected by kidney disease.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop or participate in work programs and undertake projects to explore policy issues under the guidance of the Policy Director of Kidney Care UK and the Managing Director of Kidney Wales.

• Work with other team members to deliver events/reports or campaigns as needed
• Keep up to date with the policy department and charity work to avoid duplication and ensure good communications with our colleagues.
• Contribute to the newly created All Wales Cross Party Group.
• Undertake desk-based research involving data collection and the synthesis of information from relevant sources.
• Seek out opportunities for communications and influencing in the Welsh parliament, including the need for a kidney group. 

About you

• Educated to degree level or equivalent experience. 
• Previous experience working with elected members
• Experience in conducting analysis and writing and editing reports for publication
• Can travel regularly to the Senedd Cymru Welsh Parliament in Cardiff and other parts of Wales, plus Alton Hampshire

Working Arrangements

The Role

As part of our mission, FareShare Midlands is delighted to be able to deliver our I-Can employability programme as part of Birmingham City Council’s PURE project. The PURE Project is funded by the government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. The programme will provide a range of wellbeing, training and employment support to vulnerable residents of Birmingham in order to improve their lives and move them closer to the jobs market.

Main duties include

• Attend outreach events to promote the I-Can programme
• Respond to new referrals in a timely and professional manner
• Manage registration appointments
• Register new participants in line with contractual and audit purposes
• Carry out initial assessment interviews
• Establish suitable outputs and outcomes for participants based on individual needs
• Allocate participants to appropriate Employability Coach
• Arrange initial induction session with participant and Employability Coach
• Prepare participants starter files and training materials
• Input evaluation data onto spread sheet
• Interpret evaluation data and present in graphs and charts
• Undertake and coordinate, on a day to day basis, all aspects of finance and administration relating to the FareShare Midlands contract with PURE – BCC for funding
• Provide consistently high-quality administrative paperwork relating to the delivery of the PURE project including core documentation of the participants journey
